I am a demiaroace gay trans man, and a physics student who loves writing and reading fanfiction. This blog is all about fandom related stuff I like.
Here is my AO3 account: Purple_Crimson.
I am an adult, some of my fics might be rated M or E, but I do not accept NSFW DM requests.

/!\ Please do not try to recruit me in any ship or fandom war, I have nothing but the utmost respect and appreciation for the freedom fandom is meant to offer, and that includes people liking ships or headcanons I am not into. /!\
Here is a non-exhaustive list of the fandoms I am into:
Ace Attorney, the Hellaverse, The Amazing Digital Circus, Sherlock Holmes (Canon and the 2010 BBC show), Hannibal (the 2013 show), SMG4 (the web series), Forgotton Anne, FNaF (the seven original games),...
Here is a non-exhaustive list of all of the characters I have been most obsessed with:
Miles Edgeworth, Apollo Justice, Vox, Caine, Mycroft Holmes, Mr Puzzles, Fig,...
Here is a non-exhaustive list of my favourite ships:
Recently, I also had a dream in which (among many other events) Springtrap was courting/stalking Shelly De Killer, and I found it hilarious, so as a personal challenge, I'm trying to make it make sense in a Crack Treated Seriously project. So I guess I'm writing "Shelltrap" now? The beauty of fanfiction is that I can do that, no matter how absurd it is.
I love to chat about any and all of these in my askbox or my DMs, so do not hesitate! I might, however, take some time to respond, due to being a student in a time-consuming cursus.

Misa Amane is such a fascinating character bc she is doomed before the narrative even starts. The audience never gets to know who Misa was before her parents were killed in front of her Batman-style, and then she watches somebody else die right after being assaulted. And itās obvious from what we do see of her that these experiences shaped her character as we know it, that she wasnāt always this way, and that there is a completely unreachable person in there worth saving. Two literal GODS OF DEATH sacrifice their lives to give her a second, and third, chance, and she throws those chances away without a momentās hesitation bc sheās so far gone that she doesnāt want to be saved. If she hinges her entire personality on one person, on one goal, then maybe she doesnāt ever have to think ab what sheās doing and whatās been done to her. Itās so painful for her to be human that she happily and deliberately kills herself a little at a time
light yagami from death note trying his best to kill william afton FNAF and writing down every possible alias hes ever had and finally in a rush of desperation he writes down "purple guy" and the cunt drops dead instantly
Not to be corn-plating this scene, but I LOVE how detailed it is, even without sound.
Pomni looks a bit surprised at the bad roll, looks up a Caine and nervously laughs, maybe a bit worried that it would upset him. She looks over at Ragatha, who says something that makes her burst out laughing!
Caine looks devastated, and from Gangleās response, says something like āCan I reroll?!ā
people making positive content about characters you donāt like or just saying nice things about them is not an invitation to announce that you donāt like them on their post, or to send them hate
Here is a helpful article on how to use a site skin on AO3 to hide or warn for works that include tags about AI (except for ones that are saying they've used a spell checker or grammar checker). A friend in my Starsky and Hutch fandom found this after a group discussion we had about AI generated stories. The instructions are easy to follow and it works just fine.
a not so small guide on how to use my "yuu's AI Warner" and "yuu's AI Hider" skins on ArchiveOfOurOwn so you can avoid anything related t...
SOME Hannibal fans if they were given the script of the show & were told it was a fanfiction: OP, this is really fucking dark and disgusting. Are you sure we need this sort of content in fandom spaces? Children could read this, you know. I mean, I know this is the Hannibal fandom, but you still shouldn't be writing anything like this. There are so many other things you could write about, lol. I mean, first of all, it's really out of character -- Hannibal would never hurt Will like that. Also, it's super problematic to say that a man would ever have sex with a lesbian. That's just wrong and gross. Are you sure you don't have a fetish of some kind? And the part with the guy who eats his own face?? That's disgusting and really violent. There's something wrong with you if you're writing about those things. Um. It's just not what we need in the silly gay cannibal fandom. You should delete this.
I've seen some people complain about both how Pomni tried to help Jax in the finale and how the fans like Jax as a character, and a lot of their thoughts seem to be "Jax should have been punished because they were a bad person who hurt people badly and therefore didn't deserve to be loved." And to that I say it seems like they missed the whole point of those moments and the reason fans like her. Yes, Jax did do genuinely horrible things to Gangle, Ragatha, Zooble, Ribbit, etc. She treated them like crap, insulted them, attacked them, and refused to show them even the most basic kindness.
But the thing is, she already knows how horribly she treated them. She's fully aware of how awful she was and the things she's done. She regrets it! She already feels unforgivable and unlovable and that it would be better for her to die. But if you die, you can never make amends. If you're dead you can never get better. Jax believing she's unforgivable is what made her do all that in the first place! If she thought there was hope for her she wouldn't have acted so carelessly or cruely, because she'd already accepted her fate and chose not to fight it! Pomni choosing to care about Jax isn't her excusing Jax's actions, it's her trying to give her a second chance. If she marched up into Jax's dying consciousness and told her "You suck and we all hate you!" it wouldn't have done anyone any good. That would leave Jax in the same place she already was. Pomni hugging her and proving she still deserves kindness disproves everything Jax thought about herself and everything she used to keep treating others like dirt. She didn't think she could get better. Pomni thinks she could. Jax had dug her grave too late by then.
Jax is not a character that is meant to be forgiven. Jax is meant to be understood. Jax is a cautionary tale warning against isolating yourself, repressing your emotions and lashing out at anybody who wants to get to know the real you. Punishing someone for their actions only works if that person wasn't already punishing themself. And honestly, if you think people who treated others badly in the past and are suicidal because of it should just die and don't deserve kindness... you're part of the problem. People like you are the reason unstable people think it's easier to kill themselves than admit they were wrong. Wanting others to be punished forever instead of learning to grow and right their wrongs is not healthy behavior. It won't do anybody any favors. I understand the desire for people you think are bad to die, but I also think suicide is one of the worst ways to go, and I don't wish that on anyone.
(Also, if you think being mean to people should be punishable by death... you're calling others morally corrupt over their opinions about cartoon shows. That's a kind of cruelty. Harassing people online because you disagree with them is in fact not morally pure and doesn't make you the hero. Don't call something an unforgivable sin when it's a sin that you practice regularly.)
I often see people tearing down others' enjoyment of a show under fanarts and headcanon or fan theory posts. These fans' posts are not hurting anyone, and their creators are just fans (often marginalised people) trying to enjoy something.
If someone creates content for a fandom (which, most of the time, is done FREELY and out of passion for a piece of media), it does not mean they are necessarily unable to enjoy it critically either if it is needed.
Oh but you think the writing is bad or you don't agree with their headcanons/AUs/fan theories? Do you think you really *need* to go pollute their comment sections with that and then justify a posteriori yourself because the media is otherwise "problematic"? Go away! Go fucking away!
This is especially disgusting when you think that for every #[show name] tag, there are tags called either #anti [show name] or #[show name] critical for this exact purpose. But no. These people decide to go to the main tag, or worse, in the comment section under a fan's creations.
I heard this is happening more and more under ao3 fics (which do not contain harmful political opinions, just a fan's genuine content) too. This is absolutely unacceptable, at least in the cases I saw.
Of course if a fan's piece of art depicts a minority wrongly with no warnings in the tags it is positive to call them out! But most of the time, who I see is people just... Not liking canon or the piece of art, and spewing their hatred, often for bigoted reasons, or at least sounding like bigots, and then attempting to call everyone else "problematic" or another word of this flavour.
Think about a show you like, or content you create; would you want the people you have wronged to go and do the same under you or your mutuals' posts? Because I bet you wouldn't!
The "anti" tags exist for a reason, and you better understand this quickly, especially in a place like Tumblr where this is the norm!
The problem with having OCs is that sometimes you wanna read about your little guy being in situations but unfortunately he is YOUR little guy and no one is gonna put him in that situation but you. Tragic.
