I’m reading The Deviants War: The Homosexual vs The United States of America and the entire point of gay pride as a concept comes from police raids on bars, clubs, public restrooms, etc where gays were humiliated and outed in the newspapers (sometimes with their addresses!) and had careers ruined and lives upended by being associated with perversion and vice squads and all that and they responded by going “no I’m proud” and took that pride to the streets in defiance of the huge mechanism of shame that existed to oppress the gay community into obscurity and so the fact that people are now trying to apply conservative dogma to pride parades to make them “safe for children” or in other words “safe for people with oppressive conservative values” is simply insane
To phrase this more clearly: “public indecency” laws were the primary tool for brutally enforcing gender and sexual conformity, so applying a “public indecency” lens to pride parades of all things is a slap in the face of everyone who ever suffered under gender & sexual oppression and took their anger (and yes their pride!) to the streets. If it makes you uneasy or uncomfortable maybe you’re not on the side you think you are!

up at 1 AM inventing new ways to want and want and want and want and
This has likely been spoken about an absurd amount but: The worst thing about being a mad person is how isolating it is. You cant talk to ANY ONE about the things you deal with or the consequences will be dire. The people around you are in good faith but they have been taught and trained by a bad faith system, so they think incarceration is the best option for you if you become "too much". If you scare the people around you with the big bad feelings you have, it becomes justified to put you in priso- I MEAN a psychiatric hospital. So you are left bottling it up or screaming in to a void full of strangers online. Its so suffocating to experience.
"mature for your age" to braindamaged age-dysphoric foreverkid pipeline
To create in any form is a love letter to being.
Repost, now do your honors.
lore update i wanna die
when you’re laying in your bed crying and wondering when the pain and fear will stop and suddenly you’re 14 years old again and wondering why everyone you love hurts you and uses you and leaves you and why you aren’t good enough
"be gay do crime" but you hate addicts
i think the common rhetoric that you shouldnt smoke because it doesnt look sexy is weird because firstly. many many people do think its sexy and pretending otherwise wont get us anywhere. but secondly and more crucially you shouldnt decide what to do and not do based on sex appeal maybe actually
I don't think all psych concepts are automatically fake or useless. Not infrequently, they describe real ways people struggle. What I object to is the way those descriptions are used to override the people they can apply to. Naming someone's struggles should not give anyone the right to overrule their account of their self, treat all disagreement as symptomology, or call coercion care any more than describing a location's topography semi-accurately should mean you get to plant a flag there and declare yourself president.
was following this blog about a specific population's "joy", and like, i can't say anything against any submission to it, bc i'm sure each person sending something in did personally derive joy from what they're relaying but...
all of the posts were still "this person gave me a modicum of basic decency!!!" or "got a referral for this thing you never knew anyone was required to get a referral for, and that everyone who wants one should have basic access to without requiring some other rando's permission!"
it's actually depressing me. like i said, i cannot say anything against anyone's personal experience nor tell anyone how to feel about events in their own lives but... this is how desperately all of you are scrounging for joy? this is the world we live in, that less than the bare minimum is the only joy any of us can ever find? i'm fucking sad!
What kinds of posts trigger moral & checking OCD (and psychosis)?
[PT: What kinds of posts trigger moral & checking OCD (and psychosis)? /End PT]
So many people write and reblog posts that have very direct triggers towards folks with moral & checking OCD. Here are posts NOT to make/reblog.
To get the terminology out of the way - moral OCD is a condition in which a person becomes obsessed about doing something "morally wrong", and develops compulsive behaviors over it. Checking OCD is a condition in which a person becomes obsessed over checking over their own (or others) actions, as to avoid a perceived disaster, and develops compulsions around it.
Do NOT make/reblog posts with phrases such as:
"Reblog/donate/share or else you are letting me/someone I know die/suffer." "Reblog or else you're [insert bad thing]"/"Reblog if you're not [insert bad thing]"
^If it is an urgent donation post that you feel deserves to be shared, at the very least, add "tw reblog bait" and "tw OCD trigger."
"Reblog/like/comment/share or else [insert creature] will find you/stalk you/come into your house/etc" "[Insert thing] is coming to your location. You cannot stop it. It will be outside your window soon"/"[Insert thing] is in your walls."
^These ones can also trigger hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia in people with schizospec disorders/psychosis! It may seem like a "haha funny meme" to you, but to people with OCD or psychosis, they could fret heavily over this, and wonder if they are going to be in danger if they don't reblog/like/comment/share.
"It is illegal to be/have [insert thing here]." (Example: "It is illegal to be nonqueer during pride month", "it is illegal to have internalized ableism during disability pride month", etc.)
^Once again, this may seem like a funny meme to you, but instead, it just tells people with moral OCD that their existence is wrong, or that their intrusive thoughts are a crime (thought crimes are not real!)
Having a traumatic childhood means you cannot talk even objectively about your basic foundational experiences without it being "venting", even if you're not actually venting. You just straight up have a huge chunk of your life you can't talk about, full stop, without it being trauma dumping.
And it not being socially acceptable to talk about your own childhood is super alienating. Sometimes people want to know why, and any answer you can give them is going to be off putting.
It's to the point I get irritated when something I said is framed as venting when I'm literally just talking about my life experiences, doing my best to keep emotion out of it.
i just saw the phrase loveless marriage and i was gonna be like “oh thats so based actually” until i realized it was meant to be a bad thing ✌️💔
