Heard a car horn today that was tuned to a fifth. Fucked up, kinda delightful

I want people to understand how jarring this was. Most car horns are either a single tone or two tones somewhere in the neighborhood of a minor third apart:

kidney bean

a long time ago—

before or during covid, I can't quite remember—

my mom grew kidney beans.

the plant produced three beans, total:

all of them small, dark, smooth, hard.

sometimes, I wonder if I curled up small enough,

I could become a kidney bean.

small and unassuming.

dark in its beauty.

smooth, allowing no purchase.

hard, untouchable.

i like this. i am encouraging the public to send me poems. i am charmed by the idea of working so hard to grow but three beans.

This was an idea that sprang out of a moment where I was tired, and REALLY was regretting the decision to start coloring the comic strip. It was a whole lot easier, but the color really seems to be clicking with folks, so there's no going back. That SAID, I could still poke fun at the idea like this.

I showed my mom Issue 7 of my zine, of which one of the cover articles is about the history of Mothman, and she immediately said "that looks like a vagina."

For the record, I did not draw this. It was a sketch made by one of the first people to reportedly see Mothman back in 1966. But yeah, no, in hindsight she's absolutely right.

This is a one-man production, folks, I'm not gonna catch every yonic symbol.
