Okay I know we've been over this a million times and at this point ppl probably get the idea but I might as well say it:
Really everyone in hatchetfield is morally gray.
It's okay to like villains, yes this includes really bad villains who are just straight up murders like Hidgens and Wilbur. If you don't actually think cold blooded murder is okay then your fine and it's cool and doesn't matter.
And you know what? Hidgens and Wilbur might not actually be that controversial but I'll fucking say it: this goes for every character including Zoey, Sam, Linda, Gerald, Roman and even Pamela too. You're allowed like them, like them as characters, think their funny, whatever, once again as long as you don't actually think killing or child abuse is okay it's fine. Yeah Pamela's a fucking terrible person but you know what she's a hilarious character.
But also, like I said, about all the characters are morally gray. Ted is an absolute peice shit but he used be nice and he also a tragic character with a sad story. Bill doesn't fully listen to and support Alice with absolutely everything (& plz don't think I'm saying "doesn't support" in way that means he's homophobic, dear God no, he fully supports her there, I just mean he doesn't like Deb.) but he also does love her and wants to connect with her. Sam is cheating on Charlotte and she's lonely and sad but she's also cheating on him. This goes into smaller ones too like Ethan can be an asshole sometimes. Or hell even Paul and Emma can be jerks. This goes for basically every single character. I could literally talk about every character and the good and bad they've done (and I would too don't test me).
And also when we see a post saying "I like this character" we don't need be like "okay but are you okay with their bad actions?" like ppl don't need to defend everything, guess what that person is probably aware of that character being bad we don't need to ask. Unless someone is legit being like "actually these absolutely horrible things they did are totally fine" there's no need to worry, and guess what, no one does think those actions are okay bc we're not dumb we're aware murder is bad we're aware cheating is bad, ect ect.
Yessss to all of this. Everyone is morally gray in this universe. There is no one that is 100% good or bad. Yes there are characters that clearly lean more to one side but everyone has some of the other in them too
Also yeah, you're not a bad person for liking bad characters. Like unless you're trying to justify their actions you're allowed to just enjoy fiction
just thought i would go ahead and use this as my friendly "i absolutely do not condone linda's actions" reminder just in case anyone saw my blog and thought otherwise ??
