my wildest dream is to one day have an actual good vampire academy and bloodlines adaptation but I know I should just give up because unless I make it myself it ain't going to happen at this point. the movie was cringe, the TV show started well but fucked it all up in the last episodes... The books desperately need to be updated by an adaptation making them more modern but the storyline needs to stay the same and the heart of the relationships as well

Dimitri woke in a startled state. He sat straight up in bed panting for air as though his lungs couldn’t get enough. The room was dark and quiet save for the sounds of the street next to their home. He could hear Rose breathing beside him as he tried to anchor himself in reality and forget the red eyes he’d seen. Nightmares were unfortunately a common occurrence for him now, his previous state as a Strigoi haunted him and in the safety of his dreams, he was visited by memories of what he did. He could feel cold sweat and decided to quietly go to the bathroom and wash it off without waking Rose.
Dimitri crept out of bed and headed to the bathroom to wash hoping Rose wouldn’t notice his absence and simply sleep on.
❝I was, but I mostly slept trough the days and spend times in fancy clubs.❞ Rose admitted with a shrug. ❝You know...spending Ivashkov's trust money and before you even ask - NO, I do not feel guilty because it wasn't tehnically Adrian's money, but Nathan's and I hell don't feel guilty imagining his expression when he saw the final bill.❞ Rose said helding her head high. The thought of Adrian did sting, but she tried not to focus on that. Not at this trip at least, those were the demons she has to handle on her own.

Dimitri smiled at Rose looking around St Petersburg with a wistfulness. “Well before we go to Baia why don’t we go and see the tourist sights that you didn’t see?” He offered wrapping his arm around Rose. “I never thought I would be back here with you I want to show you Russia properly see if I can help you fall in love with his country as I have” he was happy and feeling free with his Roza tucked into his side.

Despite her words she took a step forward pulling him along, despite having no idea where she was heading to.
He happily followed her simply revelling in being with his Roza. “How do you know what my grandmother said? You don’t speak Russian” his tone was light and teasing as they walked. He smiled at her insistence of her good behaviour. “There is a very good chance that my mother will not let us leave now.” He said lightly.

She brushed a hand trough her wavy locks.
❝Fuck, are you telling me we are about be kidnapped and kept hostage and very friendly neighborhood and amazing food? Please, end my non existent suffering right away.❞ She let out and exaggerated sigh and smiled.
“You know Roza sometimes you feel like my own personal trial” he said teasingly wrapping an arm around her waist. “My mother would love if you stated she would adopt you as a daughter especially for restoring me.” He smiled, “but we do not need to rush to Baia we can go see the sights first.”
❝A trial? Comrade, listen..I am your personal hell, your life sentence without shortening the terms. Suck it it up, it's the price of your restoration.❞ She said in a grim tone and then laughed.❝Alright, alright. Do show me around. So what are you seeing first? Dimitri simply shook his head laughing softly. Rose always surprised him and made him laugh. “Well what if we drop our bags then I take you out to town?” He offered. His arm wound its way around Rose kissing her cheek simply delighting in holding her close.
He did not had to tell her twice as she dramatically tossed one of her bags across the street. Then she looked up at him with an innocent smile. ❝What's wrong, Comrade? Isn't this what you meant?❞ She was doing her best to hold back a laugh. ❝Oh, just let me help you!❞ She reached out to his bag. ❝I want that promised tour even if I have to get rid of all of your baby dusters in there.❞

Dimitri smiled at Rose looking around St Petersburg with a wistfulness. “Well before we go to Baia why don’t we go and see the tourist sights that you didn’t see?” He offered wrapping his arm around Rose. “I never thought I would be back here with you I want to show you Russia properly see if I can help you fall in love with his country as I have” he was happy and feeling free with his Roza tucked into his side.
❝As long as you won't make me eat questinable food or ticky me into buying a duster I am all up for a tour.❞ Rose said in warning tone. ❝Also, you have to finally teach me how to swear. I begged Sydney, but I am very doubtful that things she thought me is actually something very smart and decent and I won't even dare to ruin mu badass reputation.❞ The dhampir girl looked up at him grinning at him. ❝Do we have deal, Comrade?❞

Dimitri woke in a startled state. He sat straight up in bed panting for air as though his lungs couldn’t get enough. The room was dark and quiet save for the sounds of the street next to their home. He could hear Rose breathing beside him as he tried to anchor himself in reality and forget the red eyes he’d seen. Nightmares were unfortunately a common occurrence for him now, his previous state as a Strigoi haunted him and in the safety of his dreams, he was visited by memories of what he did. He could feel cold sweat and decided to quietly go to the bathroom and wash it off without waking Rose.
Dimitri crept out of bed and headed to the bathroom to wash hoping Rose wouldn’t notice his absence and simply sleep on.

Rose said with a sigh. She did, however, relax upon his following flattery.
❝Oh, so you are taking the duster AND the stash of books with you? Well, that's gonna be a hell of a practical trip!❞ She teased him with a wide grin. Of course she knew, he spoke about her.
❝Funny, with all the schedules you put me trough at 4.a.m. back at St.Vlad's I'd assume you take sleep as overrated.❞ She pointed out poking at his cheek.
He smiled at her words as his hand came up to trace designs on her skin. “You know you’re second in my heart to Westerns” he teased back squeezing her hand, “I put you through that schedule at St Vladimir’s because you would never have come if I let you sleep in” he said failing to keep the smile off his face. Dimitri loved those private moments with Rose when it felt as if the rest of the world had simply fallen away leaving both of them to their own devices.
He was feeling far more settled now and he hoped that she would go back to sleep beside him, Dimitri always slept better with his precious Roza in his arms.
❝Right, cause you just could not be more convincing to get my attention.❞ Rose said dramatically as she snuggled up in his arms.
❝If I were you, I'd be careful. Those Westers are walking a thin ice, Comrade. Thin.Ice.❞ She let out a happy sigh and let her close.
❝Sleep and STOP smiling. I can literally feel that smug expression on your face, when you think I am all 'adorable'. Those were serious warning.❞ She was trying to sound mean, but was failing terribly.
He bent his head and kissed her softly before Dimitri pulled away and laid back down taking deep breaths, he closed his eyes trying to relax his mind and body enough to drift off. He had been laughing with Rose, but he was exhausted and needed his energy to be on duty.
------24 hours later--------
❝......but it's WARM!❞ Rose said in exasperation, throwing her hands up in the air. She looked down at her overly warm jacket and then back at the city view. ❝It was freezing the last time I was here! Like Tundra!❞ For Rose's logic, it did not matter that the last time when she was here it was winter or that Tundra did not even always have snow.
❝Are you sure we got out at the right Airport, Comrade?❞
