how does it feel to be the funniest person on earth
Day 21 posting snippets from my WIP for the love of the game:
In a lull, Jaskier lays back on the bed and studies the ceiling. “You know, I believe we've done more talking this week than in all the years on the road together.” Geralt grunts, laying on his side and propping himself up on an elbow to look at his bard. “Maybe I have,” he says with a hint of a tease. Jaskier scrunches up his nose and shoves his friend gently. “You know what I mean.” A serene smile slides onto the witcher's face. “I'm grateful,” he says hesitantly. When nothing follows the statement, Jaskier looks up at him. Amber eyes study him, guarded and unrevealing in spite of his peaceable expression. “For what?” the bard asks softly. A thoughtful hum vibrates from low in the witcher's chest. “You.” “Oh, piss off,” Jaskier says, fighting the blush rising in his cheeks and turning his gaze to the ceiling. “You big sap.” “I mean it,” Geralt says, shifting to lay on his back beside the bard. “I… really appreciate having you with me. Didn't know how much I missed-” Jaskier takes his hand, and Geralt freezes. Taut like a bowstring. The bard traces the lines on his knuckles until the tension eases, then mutters, “Don't stop on my account.” A puff of air escapes the witcher as he shakes his head. “I missed you. I didn't know how much until I woke up in that inn. And even then I didn't think…” “Do you ever?” Jaskier cracks, because something needs to ease the tension. Geralt lets out a soft chuckle. “I hardly get the chance, with you around,” he grumbles with no real venom. “Oh, is that so?” Jaskier wedges his elbow under his head, propping himself up. Geralt's hair is splayed over the bed, and the lines on his face are softened by the flickering light. He looks downright godly like that. “What's that supposed to mean?” Geralt looks up at him, raising an eyebrow. “You know what I mean,” he says. Jaskier narrows his eyes. “I'm not sure I do, but I get the feeling I should be insulted. Are you insulting me right now?” Geralt laughs a little more fully now, the smile crinkling his eyes as he looks up at the ceiling. “I can't think when you're always talking.” There's such fondness in his voice that any idea of insult is lost to the bard. “Oh,” he says quietly. Geralt's face tightens, and he looks up at him. “Not that I'm complaining,” he says quickly, searching the bard's gaze. “I always miss it when you're quiet.” Jaskier's chest swells with feeling, and he almost leans in and kisses the witcher, just like that night in Dorian. Almost. Instead he flops back on his back and draws his friend's hand up to his chest, where he pins it with both of his and holds tight. “Good to know,” he mutters. With a fragile peace settling over them, Jaskier drifts off into the best sleep he's had in weeks, maybe years. The pressure of his witcher at his side, warm and strong and here, brings unfounded comfort in the cold night.

"Adjectivenounnoun sent you a message!"
And every time, when I open their page, it has 1 comission and 1 "drawing" (half the time its ai) and the message is selling commissions
If you were a real artist, you may have more than one work on your page. If you ARE selling commissions (as in If this for once wasnt a scam), wouldnt you want people to be able to see examples of your work? Like scammers aint even trying that hard

The Thing in the Wall
What no one tells you about loving The Amazing Devil is that when you'll want to sing along to an entire album at some point you'll have to start fighting against tears and maybe even sobs – and you'll, of course, have to power through because stopping halfway through an album is a crime. Who cares if you're slightly dehydrated by the end of the whole ordeal, do it for the love of the art.
Day 20 posting my WIP to fulfill my contract with The Horrors:
She places her hands on her hips and earns his gaze. “See? Told you they'd come.” “They haven't exactly,” Jaskier says, then winces. “That… came out harsh. I'm sorry Xena's not here.” Gabrielle looks to the treetops and tries for an uncaring shrug. “I'm sure she'll be fine.” “Yes, I've little doubt she can fend for herself.” He steps toward her hesitantly. “But still, it must be hard doing this without her, when you're so used to her company.” Gabrielle nods. “It's… intimidating.” A soft smile graces Jaskier's lips, absent even a hint of the bitterness she's seen in his other smiles. “I'm sure, but for what it's worth, you're doing an excellent job.” Not knowing how badly she needed to hear those words, Gabrielle feels the tension between her own shoulders ease greatly. “You think so?” “Would I lie?” Gabrielle narrows her eyes, leaning on her staff. “I don't really know you that well.” His face falls slightly, humor flickering in his eyes. “Well know this: Julian Alfred Pankratz, Viscount de Lettenhove, never lavishes a compliment he doesn't mean.” Gabrielle frowns. “Who?” “Me, Gabrielle, that's me.” He shakes his head. “But in all seriousness, you've clearly got this in hand. I have to say, the way you handled those guards yesterday was rather impressive.” “Hey, what about me?” Joxer, whose presence she had almost blissfully forgotten, chimes in. He trots up to Jaskier's side and looks between them expectantly. “I’m the one who did the breaking into the dungeon and rescuing. Where's my attaboy?” With a bemused smile, Jaskier claps a hand on his back. “Of course, we would never have made it out of there without your daring rescue. When I return to the Continent, I will sing songs of Joxer the Mighty right alongside tales Xena and Gabrielle.”
Day 19 posting snippets from my WIP in Dahak's name:
“That's it?” Joxer says when she's done, despite the masterful word craft she'd used to try and make it sound more complex. “It's our best shot, right? If the other gods don't approve of what Ares is doing-” “But do any of the gods approve of people trespassing on Olympus?” Joxer shakes his head. “Do you have a better plan?” she bites back. “Do you have a plan that doesn't end in dying?” “Joxer,” she snaps. “It's all we have.” He shakes his head. “You'll get yourself killed,” he says with a sincerity she's rarely heard in his voice. There's something unfairly somber in his wide dark eyes when he looks at her, and she can't help but feel bad. She lets out a short sigh. “Look, I'm sorry for sniping at you. But you have to be realistic: what would Xena do?” After thinking for a moment, a bashful understanding comes across his face. “Xena would waltz right up Mount Olympus and tell Zeus what she thought of how he managed the situation so far.”
Day 18 posting snippets from my WIP until the sky falls:
“You clean like a hurricane!” Lambert interrupts her, evidently simmering. “No one asked you to do everything before lunch yesterday, and now Vesemir is coming down on our heads about work ethic.” “Lambert,” Eskel says, raising a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. “What? It's true!” “Just-” He makes a reaching gesture, as if to strangle the lankier man, then balls his fists and presses them into his lap before turning back to Xena. “Look, if you could just do us the favor of slowing down a bit, we would appreciate that.” “You want me to… work less hard?” she clarifies, looking between the two uncertainly. “Are you serious?” Lambert's lip curls in a snarl and Eskel opens his mouth as if to answer, but Xena rises from her seat and they both pause. “Listen, if you two are having such a hard time keeping up, I would be happy to come by and lend you both a hand when I'm finished with my responsibilities.” She collects her meal as she speaks, returning to her earlier plan to eat out in the pen. “I hardly think it makes sense to utilize anything less than the full potential of the workforce here. You want your home fixed up? Better step to it, or you'll all be a hundred before it happens.” With that, Xena turns on her heel and starts straight back for the goat pen. How terribly disappointing.
Xena ain't having NONE of their shit lmaoo
the amazing devil invented music and no i will not be talking any questions at this time
Day 17 posting snippets cause I can:
The bard takes a step back, and the scent of his mixed emotions in the air is dizzying. “I know- I know you're sorry, but I think it's my turn to apologize.” “What?” Now it's Geralt's turn to step back. “For what?” Jaskier's eyes flash. “For being a prat, weren't you listening?” “Jaskier,” Geralt says again, softly this time. Soft like he should have been all those years ago. He takes another step toward him, and this time Jaskier stays put. “Geralt,” he says, a little softer than before but not without ire. Then he drops his gaze, letting go of much pretense with a sag of his shoulders. “I am sorry. I've wasted so much energy, so much time being angry about the past that I- I almost missed the present. I know it's going to be different, and it won't be easy but… I… miss you, so… I'm sorry for keeping you at arms length.” Unable to resist any longer, Geralt crosses the short remaining distance between them and pulls Jaskier into a hug.
Side note: its my birthday! All I want for my bday is comments on ao3
Day 16 posting my WIP until the gods smite me for it:
“Geralt?” The soft question would have been lost in the crowd to anyone else, but Geralt quickly swivels and catches sight of him, hovering near a booth at the back, staring at Geralt like he doesn't know what to think. “Jaskier,” he breathes, making quick work of the space between them despite the muffled protests of jostled patrons along the way. They don't matter. He's here. He's safe, though the smell of blood returns to his attention when he gets close. Geralt almost wraps his arms around his bard when he reaches him, so overwhelmed is he by relief. Almost. But he catches himself. There's a fragile look in Jaskier's eyes, like there had been that first night in Dorian. “You're alright,” he says, baffled by the welling emotion in his bard's face. Not his, he reminds himself, taking a step back out of Jaskier's space. “You came,” he says, shaking his head slightly. “How..?”
Thats it! No more spoilies!

Day 15 posting snippets from my WIP for the love of Joey Batey:
The worst blow to his pride is the realization of his own responsibility. He's been petulant. The anger in his chest, in spite of all his wallowing, isn't actually Geralt's fault. Its something he feeds and clings to, which absolves him of the need to introspect. It's terribly unfair that he should realize all this while impossibly far from his friend. And Geralt is his friend, for whatever issues they have. And all he wants now is to wrap his arms around him and hold him tight. If they make it out of this, he decides, he will tell Geralt everything. He will believe his apologies. He will forgive. He will let go of the past. Jaskier takes the first watch because he knows sleep will not take him. He doesn't wake anyone for the second watch because even when the moon is high overhead, the whirlwind blowing through his mind doesn't settle enough. He knows sleep still won't come. So he stokes the fire, keeping it lively for his sleeping companions. He desperately wishes for a notebook, or a top to protect his skin from the scratchy wool of his cloak. Jaskier sits up all night until the sun is peeking through the trees, just thinking. Accepting. Deciding. It's going to be different.
Some sad Jaskier introspection for you 💕
