@staff @changes the fact that so many completely innocuous pride flag posts I've archived here are not only falsely flagged, but COMPLETELY HIDDEN, is fucking heinous. Yet, I still see actual explicit content everywhere. I am appalled at how directly the queer community is targeted by this shitty algorithm in the first place, but I just barely tolerated it because I could simply choose to view the falsely flagged posts with a content warning header or clickthrough.

Today, I get on tumblr to search my archive, and suddenly pride flags and non-adult queer identities are treated as if they're SO explicit that even adults can't view them. You NEED to fix this- if you don't care enough to stop your algorithm from falsely flagging coining posts, at least let adults choose to see them. My content filter is OFF. Get your system to stop treating innocuous WORDS as if they are explicit images or videos that are actually against the TOS. For now, all I can do is cry into the uncaring void and send direct links of misflagged posts to tumblr in the hopes that they give a fuck about us at all.

I've been using Tumblr since its inception and have used it primarily to view and create content like this. This is my special interest. Seeing archive work I've done, and moreover, the original creators being unjustly censored for no reason, is heartbreaking. Please give us ANY sign you care even a little bit, because I've found no acknowledgement of how crap and bigoted your algorithm is. It should at least be in "known issues" because y'all KNOW. There's no way you DON'T know because your site in infamous for this, so it comes across as y'all seeing censorship of COLORED STRIPES as a non-issue, and that you want queer people to struggle to find connection and community on here. Tumblr has a widespread reputation for censoring completely innocent queer content while giving us ~pride flag tag colors~ and y'all continue to reinforce that image more and more over time.

Is it laziness, apathy, or intentional queerphobia? Your response, or lack thereof, will let us know. Remove queer censorship from your algorithm, completely. Stop coding this mess to treat innocent words as if they're red flags so bad that even ADULTS shouldn't see them. There is no correlation between queer identity and explicit content, and treating it that way is incredibly queerphobic in a way that no other site I've ever seen manages to do worse than Tumblr.

Btw, seems to me that "boy girl" and "girl boy" (using a space because I don't trust tumblr not to falsely flag THIS post) are being targeted directly. Tumblr. Honey. Those are just words. Can they be used in an inappropriate context? Yes, but in the same way the word "woman" can. It is just a normal gender identity. In fact, it's one that minors use a lot, so sexualizing it is fucked up.

Yes. I'm furious. Sorry, not sorry for being mean about it. I will not censor or soften myself when speaking in defense of my community. This is completely inexcusable.

i know toric and trixic have alternate terms (quadrisian and orbisian), but i like the T sound, and they’re just easier to remember and say, so also: does anyone know the etymology of toric/trixic?

ok so! i think i found the sources for “tor” and “trix!”

basically, the two were used to describe adjectives and nouns as feminine or masculine (although at the end of the word, not the begining). i couldn’t find a neutral version, but here’s my proposal for NLA, following the starting-with-T-theme.

tercic! based off the prefix “ter-“ which means thrice or three. in this case, it refers to men, women, and nonbinary people - though it could also could be interpeted to mean masc, fem, and other! i added on the C because “teric” sounds a bit too similar to toric for my liking :]c

so to recap:

trixic: a nonbinary person attracted to women/fem genders (NLW)

toric: a nonbinary person attracted to men/masc genders (NLM)

tercic: a nonbinary person attracted to all/any genders (NLA)

Adentix: A umbrella term and/or gender for anyone with ADHD who feels like their gender is affected by it in some way.

Adentix changes based on the person who uses it; one adentix person could view their gender differently from another adentix person, even if they have the same gender. It can be used as its own gender (“I am adentix”), as a modifier (“I am an adentix man), and it can be used alongside other genders. It can be any alignment, as well as fluid, flux, etc.

Orange was chosen as the primary color for this flag, because it is the color of ADHD awareness.

This is only for people with ADHD. The autistic version is autix, the schizospec version is schizotix, and the general neurodivergent one is neurotix! Credit goes to @faegai for the coining of those terms. :)

aremsexual alt flag - someone who has a sex drive, but does not find themselves usually actively attracted to other individuals. They may feel attraction, but it is very uncommon. sex acts normally done on out of purely libido in the moment, not at all based on sex attraction (whether it's there or not for the person).

A subsection of greysexuality. This could be fitting for those who find the idea of "sexual attraction" very difficult to understand or if they're unsure if they feel it for anyone.
