NOIYS – Post, read, forget is a place to post an anonymous note to be viewed by many people, only to be deleted within 24 hours. Some helpful graphics about anti-racism and white supremacy that will help you understand how it works. Hopefully that understanding will also help prevent you from falling down those pipelines and keep you from perpetuating those systems through thoughtless comments and microaggressions.

I want to add on that racism is a spectrum, not a binary.

There aren't just anti-racists and white supremacists. There are many people between those two groups who consciously and unconsciously project their biases, who proudly wear the badge of racism while there are also others who deny they're racist despite making racists comments, jokes, or by repeating racist rhetoric

Theres this Black author named Barnor Hesse who came up with the 8 White Identities to describe some of the people you can find on that spectrum. Those identities give a useful framework to figure out where you lie on the spectrum of racism.

Beyond that, racist violence is also a spectrum. The people over at The Equality Institute gave us a helpful framework to see how each layer of this violence builds into genocide. It's called the Pyramid of White Supremacy.

The idea is that you need the foundational bottom layers in order to build higher. You can not justify Violence against a group for example without first normalizing Indifference, Minimisation, and Discrimination against them.

Another good resource is this site. It's a book on white supremacy that's been formatted into a website so that it could be more interactive. It's entirely free too.

The deuteranomaly and protanomaly ones are very similar but they are different. The purple section ranges out a little farther to the right in the protanomaly one. Not seeing the difference between might not indicate color blindness but rather difficulty with color differentiation.

I came up with some terms that I think will help in discussions about gender. I like flags, so these terms got flags, but it was mostly for fun.

Ordinous (left): A word to describe genders that fall within the common, pre-existing qualities of masculine, feminine, androgynous, epicene, and neutral. It also describes genders such as man, woman, androgyne, and neutrois and anything in between them. Ordinosity is the noun form of this word. When we talk about the ordinosity of genders, we're talking about the unifying quality of ordinous genders.

Exordinous (right): A word to describe genders that do not fall within ordinosity. This would include outherinity, maverinity, ilyaginity, xenity, itherinity, périnity, and anything else outside of ordinous genders or qualities. Exordinosity is the noun form. All of the previous examples of exordinous gender qualities have a unifying exordinosity to them.

This is a way to make conversations about gender a little easier. It's wordy to say "Such and such genders exist outside of the pre-existing qualities of masc, fem, neutral, and anything in between." It's much easier to say "These genders exist outside of ordinous qualities."

I'm willing to workshop these but I wanted terms that did not already exist, were easy to remember, and had suffixes that wouldn't be mixed up with gender qualities (such as adding the -ine ending that quality terms have.) I don't want to come up with an in-nature, quality, or spectrum term. These terms are simply meant to make language a bit easier when talking about genders that sit within or outside of convention.

If these terms are generally acceptable and useful, then feel free to use them. Add them to whatever wiki sites are out there. Put them on a Carrd. I think they'd really help.

A note on the usage of such terms:

There is no "demi-exordinous" or "demi-ordinous" so terms like aporagender are still exordinous. Ordinous genders must be entirely within male, female, androgyne, epicene, and neutrois. Yes, there are terms that are niaspec but also outherine, and in certain discussions they would be considered as having both an exordinous and an ordinous quality, but such "ouiningenders" would be considered exordinous genders. The context of the discussion is important.

These are specifically meant to be used in discussions about topics like outherinity, where the definition states that it exists outside of masculine, feminine, androgynous, and neutral. Maverique has a similar definition but is stated to exist outside of male, female, androgyne, and neutrois. Ilyagender is not man, woman, or neutral nor anything in between while péra is not male, female, androgynous, or neutral. A lot of these have the same idea in mind. We can elimate this wordiness by introducing the concept of exordinosity to the conversation.

They're flexible terms and specifically have two parts - ex/ordinous genders and ex/ordinous qualities - and the distinction between gender and quality is important. Masculine is not an ordinous gender, it is an ordinous quality. Xenogender is not an exordinous quality, it is an exordinous gender.

These are not to be combined with identity labels to create new terms because that takes away from their usage. Terms like viabinary, ideobinary, etc. don't get this treatment, so I expect the same for these. Their usage is very much like the usage of terms from the alibinary system.

Agender and agenrinity can't fit this model and don't fall under ordinous or exordinous. That's just the nature of genderlessness in the same way that agender/agenrine are not nonbinary or abinary to most people.

The concept of exordinosity helps steer away from the idea of a gender or quality being "atrinary" and in the same manner, ordinosity avoids the concept of trinarity. Both are more inclusive of genders that tend to be shoved into the trinary/atrinary boxes.

I think that covers most of what I had in mind. Obviously the more these terms are used, the more they'll evolve and be better understood. People might even come up with related terms to fill the gaps I might have missed. That's the beauty of complex gender topics, that we find ways to make the conversation just a little bit easier for ourselves and others.

Letting this circulate again but also adding a small clarification on usage: People are not ordinous or exordinous. Genders and gender qualities are ex/ordinous. People can have a gender that is ex/ordinous, but people themselves are not described as such.
