The Unapproachable Nonbinarity
got a little mad at transbinary people in this one.
Regardless of time and era, nonbinarity is still something seen as a “gotcha” rather than a material existence.

I am not between them if I reject them outright. I am outside and thus against these two fates that never defined me in the first place. To place me back into two incorrect definitions is to be anti-nonbinary. Does that make sense to the minds of those who require physiological evidence to nonbinarity? No, and it never will when they operate on the assumption that nonbinary is a position in need of grouping rather than liberating.
And they will never accept physiological evidence. You can change your sex, but surgery without ongoing "cross-sex" hormones (very specifically) and especially any nullification surgery doesn't do that socially, the way that materially matters to your position, no matter how it changes your doctor visits and insurance calls and cruising safety and relationships and vulnerability to carceral sexual abuse. Eunuchs are all still men, after all, unless they take estrogen and then they're trans women, and removing a vulva is meaningless alone, and having an unrecognizable sex is impossible, and having a confusing sex is playing around without real consequences, and displaying a hyperflat chest with no nipples will never get you accosted for making people uncomfortable because that's not what decency laws are targeting, obviously. Your social class position is testosterone or estrogen, which you can toggle, and you'll be judged by everyone for toggling more than once but that doesn't worsen your material conditions at all.

much as i appreciate the language of estrogen-dominant and testosterone-dominant hormone systems, it does still face the ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "is this even meaningful" challenge when it's like. not clear actually. neither/both/vascillating. "idk which is winning at relevance, kinda depends when i last bothered to take which medication, so... why do you ask"
sometimes it will simply not be useful i suspect. still a simplified model (and i'm not convinced articulating A co-dominant System would solve things either)

i get the spirit of folks posting "you can want bottom surgery and be nonbinary: you can have a penis and not want it, you don't have to be a monogender woman to want a vagina, vaginoplasty/orchiectomy can be for you! you can have a vagina and not want it, you don't have to be a monogender man to want a penis, metoidioplasty/phalloplasty can be for you!"
this is my ally speaking, not my enemy. the sentiment is there, all true. and yet...
not wanting a penis ≠ wanting a vagina, friends. not wanting a vagina ≠ wanting a penis. that's really important here.
and you CAN SIMPLY REMOVE. without a "replacement." which is in my experience the greatest knowledge gap!! that nonbinary people are shocked by! which i think is the goal to address here!!
you can get penectomy on its own, you do not need to get a vagina to remove a penis; you don't even need orchiectomy if you don't want that. you can get vaginectomy on its own, you do not need clitoral release or phallus construction to remove a vagina.
you can also ADD without removal! the other great knowledge gap shocker! first of all, scrotoplasty exists, and is not just for phalloplasty or metoidioplasty; you can get it on its own, including without vaginectomy if you want. you can get vaginoplasty on its own, without penectomy ("penis-preserving") or orchiectomy. you can get metoidioplasty or phalloplasty on its own, without vaginectomy ("vagina-preserving").
yes, some surgeons will insist certain surgeries require other surgeries. sometimes this is for a fundamental health reason (eg vaginectomy needs to solve for menstruation one way or another). sometimes it's about a risk (eg urethral lengthening into phalloplasty causing higher rate of complications if no vaginectomy) that other surgeons will accept informed consent for. sometimes it's oh no but if we don't do this at the same time you lose your best graft tissue and what if you change your miiind (but there are in fact other graft sites if you do). sometimes it's a skill issue, that particular surgeon just can't manage it. sometimes it's bias.
but as far as Can Be Done? most of it's modular!! these are NOT TRADES!!
so
please don't get stuck thinking not wanting something means you gotta get something else.
and please don't get stuck thinking wanting something else too means you gotta lose what you've got.
and especially please don't get stuck encouraging nonbinary people they can access bottom surgery to Trade.

gender itself is not something the trans liberation movement should be focusing on but instead the full and complete informed consent regarding the change and alteration in our bodies and legal standing.
i do really hate this popular definition of xenogenital leading (and ending) with "wishing," which in most contexts is heavily implied to be all it is - a fantasy impossible to actualize, even through changing language. biohacking can achieve nonhuman/alien results, including genitally!
was also surprised to see eunuch defined so narrowly; while that's certainly the most common and prototypical, and it can be hard to find more inclusive communities, to my understanding there's much more (eg chemical castration without gonadectomy, and applicable for mullerian sex traits, and sometimes nullo can be thought of as under the eunuch umbrella)
hell yes to organ inventories, this sex novarity system is great! appreciate the link for clarifying omitted hormonal coding and more detailed options than the pictured chart shows. being able to just write NXN and direct folks to such a chart feels sooo explicitly helpful for me personally, where i've found saying altersex, varsex, or xenogenital still leads to incorrect assumptions (or at least followup questions)
i sure do love asking federal institutions how to comply with their new Gender Truthist Criteria without waiving my state protected rights and being told "received, posting you a physical form [so you can do a write-in instead of being cockblocked by binary radio buttons, but we won't say that aloud because plausible deniability even though you were asking about liability for ~failure to complete~ this legally mandated demographic questionnaire for Diversity Checking-Up Reasons"

SUSAN STRYKER: The difference really is between feminists who want to use power to advance their interest as a biologically-defined minority versus those wanting to build a politics among all those negatively affected by patriarchy. I think what got called radical feminism or TERF has always been predicated on biological determinism and in ways it’s kind of supremacist. I used to say that the more feminism is about civil rights for people with uteruses, the more it becomes akin to any other kind of biologistic ideology, including racism. And the more it's critiquing systems of power with a vision of justice that is against structures of oppression, the less identitarian it is and more like a social movement than advocacy for a special biological category of people.

reading this both re: the intuitive reinventing of the term sex-based oppression as a model for organizing, and re: separatism for 'protection' as uninterested in dismantling the actual structures of oppression impacting many more negatively affected
fun fact: sometimes nonbinary people have more material experiences in common with other nonbinary, even if they were assigned/raised as different binary genders, than they do with binary people of the same assigned/raised binary gender. sometimes a person's nonbinary identity is more important to their identity and understanding their lived experienced than any binary alignment they may have

As someone who has been in the industry for a decade now, a credit union is the way to go. Credit unions (key word: union!) are member owned and profits pay back members as dividends.
Bear in mind that your card processors (Visa, American Express, Mastercard, etc.) are distinct entities with their own service terms and present a separate obstacle that a credit union doesn't overcome, but it's an excellent first step and there are workarounds. Members within the union would be able to send and receive funds amongst themselves with no outside restrictions imposed. 🤷
This is also non-binding; it's an interest check. Depends on the rules of individual credit unions, but sometimes you don't even have to be engaged with a particular company or industry sector to use the credit union. So don't worry about if you think you'd qualify, if you're in the US and interested, take 60 seconds to fill it out
binary trans people are like "yeah, girl hormones will make you look like a girl!" "testosterone will give you male puberty and make you look like a man!"
have you considered for even one minute that you're not the only damn people in the universe?
"oestrogen is a girly girl hormone" except there are nonbinary people and trans men whose dominant sex hormone is oestrogen and who may not want to go on T. it doesn't mean our hormones are "female" or "girly".
"testosterone is a manly man hormone" except there are nonbinary people and trans women whose dominant sex hormone is testosterone and who may not want to go on E. it doesn't mean their hormones are "male" or "manly".
just because cis people insist every single bodily function must be gendered does NOT mean trans people have to do the same.
like it's great you find your HRT affirming for your manhood or womanhood but it doesn't mean they're inherently male or female.
it's just misgendering based on biology. it's the exact same logic that cis people use to misgender us. it harms other binary trans people and it especially harms nonbinary people because no matter our dominant sex hormone, you're always gonna call it boy hormone or girl hormone.
it's transmedicalism. you don't have to identify as a transmedicalist to perpetuate the transmedicalist model of "testosterone = male = man, estrogen = female = woman, trans = needs HRT, intersex = DSD = needs HRT, doesn't need HRT = not trans = cis AGAB"
the absenting of nonbinary people from this model is intentional, not accidental. the absenting of intersex people with codominant T&E is intentional, not accidental. the absenting of people with neither dominant T nor E as infeasible is intentional, not accidental.
you can for example de-medicalize T for yourself in an affirming way by calling it your boy juice, but to not perpetuate transmedicalism you do gotta pay attention to who's hearing what in where you're saying it.
