most english translations of the odyssey embellish the existing sexism with additional misogyny, so simply not doing that, while being female, has caused wilson's translation to be dubbed "feminist," seemingly to her bemusement.

i would love to see her take on a feminist translation as an intentional project! i think the hate and harassment she would get for that would be intense, unfortunately.

fiiinally finished gundam double zeta a show i had a really great time with.

on the one hand i would say that it is hands down my favourite of the gundams ive seen so far If you discount approximately episodes three through ten, and also episode one obviously, and probably a couple other ones later on... on the other hand at least the bad episodes of ZZ are, like, mildly amusing to watch and roll your eyes at, which i'll take anyday over the approximately 40% of middle-period Zeta episodes that are just a pendulum swinging between "tedious stakesless space battle" and "genuinely the most bafflingly misogynistic writing i have ever encountered".

uc gundam in general seems to be a "would be so good if it was good" type media property, but i think zeta and zz Especially are both extreme versions of that for me. but like for completely opposite reasons.

Washington Post is paywalling the article but it looks like Taylor Farms — a consumer bagged salad brand that also supplies produce to grocers and fast food chains like Taco Bell, Walmart, McDonald's, Chipotle, Burger King, KFC, and Meijer —may be at least one of the sources of the current cyclosporiasis outbreak.

Taylor makes bagged greens, salad kits, chopped salads, the works. Keep avoiding supermarket greens, but keep an especially close eye out for this brand/supplier. The above list of grocers and fast food chains is NOT exhaustive, so please continue getting lettuce and other raw produce taken off your burgers, sandwiches, etc.

im glad that my extended family seem to be vaguely aware that im nonbinary but it makes christmas funny because most of my aunts have a very simply formula of "the girls get perfume and the boys get cologne" . and they seem to have realised they cant really do that for me, but havent come up with a consistent genderless solution yet. so each year is a delightful surprise. plain unbranded soap. those gloves with touch screen fingerpads. one year i got TWO different puzzle books. its a fascinating look into the minds of cis people and i appreciate it so much.
