Lowkey how do I tell me doctor that if she cant find something to at least calm down my hives temporarily, imma go insane. Like. The hives and itching get so bad I start thinking 'well if I peeled all my skin off it couldn't hive up... and nothing normal is helping besides usually ice water but I cant go around soaking my feet in ice water for hours at a time multiple times a day, not only will that not work for my job, but Ill get frostbite or something. Usually its my feet that get it the worse now, ive filed the calluses off the bottom so that medication I put on can actually soak in. I cant wear closed toed shoes because the heat will make them break out. I need a prescription strength anti itch cream, and something like extra strong lidocaine, ill do steroid creams I dont care just something. I literally am getting insomnia because of this. And oral steroids so far have only helped the first day of a 5 day course, then the rest of the days the hives are back to normal. So I want to try taking an oral steroid one day out of every 3 days, something like that and see if that at least gives me some relief. If I can know that every 3rd day ill be able to sleep a whole night through itd give me something to live for. The Next thing my doc wants to try is so insanely expensive and insurance denied it because they want me to try taking 2 other drugs together. Drugs that on their own make me so much worse. And now I cant take any nsaids either so when my knee or back hurt, or cramps I just have to suffer. Today alone ive done menthol, lidocaine cream, an old banana peel (my dad thought rubbing thay on would help) ice water, 3 benadryl, and now that my feet are drying from the ice water the itch is back.... i cant sleep like this. I cant express how much I would rather be in pain, than itchy.

If I have to go to another insanely expensive doctors appointment just for my doctor to shrug and say 'weird, dont know what to do for you' im gonna lose it.

I interviewed someone today who would not tell me their availability. She said she had something coming up soon she would need to train for and so I asked her if she knew what days and she said 'ill tell you if I get hired' so I tried to clarify and told her the hours we were looking for, and if that would work for her and she doubled down on the 'ill tell you if I get hired'

Im having such a hard time sleeping through the itchiness I wonder if i could get sleeping pills to knock me out cause this is getting ridiculous

Slowly going crazy with my hives. My doctor has written me a script for xolair, however it is insanely expensive and so my insurance wanted me to try something else first. Did that, the other meds made me worse. As most do. Doctor had to reschedule my followup, so now I dont see her till late august. The xolair injection lasts a month, my wedding will be a month and some days after my doc appt, so if we go forward with that im waiting until after the wedding because im not adding unpredictable hives into the equation when they've been still bothersome but relatively predictable lately. Yes I get them every day and I will usually have a meltdown once or twice a week due to how itchy I am, but its better than a meltdown every day. Xolair is also insanely expensive, and costs over twice my monthly gross income, so theres that too. My doctor however only did a food allergy blood test on me, so I think while I wait for my followup im going to have more bloodwork done. My dad of course thinks that its because im vegetarian, and while I do want to get an anemia test, I dont think not eating meat is whats causing my body to have adverse reactions to medication.

I also am more recently eating a lot less than my normal because ozempic has cured a few other peoples hives so I am taking some in the hopes it could help, however so far it hasn't changed anything. But one would think if im eating less that if the hives were food related id have less of them too.

So Ive been taking ozempic as an experiment to see if it will help my chronic hives, (after seeing others say it helped) and im easing myself into it, did 2 weeks at a quarter dose, im on week 3 of 4 of half doses, and tbh the negative side effects are minimal, but I cant do spicy food anymore which sucks. Stomach pain doesnt happen every day but when it does it comes on fast and generally doesnt last super long. On the hive front, I havent noticed the hives on the rest of my body getting better, but overall itching of my feet has gotten better, not sure thats related but I am grateful, I can shower without having to wear latex socks sealed with waterproof tape, and thats pretty sweet. At this point my hives are mostly just red dots that frequently appear and dissappear over the course of the day, on the bright side my legs are hairy enough you cant tell when they've broken out there lol its mostly my forearms that are noticeable.

Dont know if i want to pursue other treatments or just deal with this as it is now, its costing me $500 every time I see the doctor, and all she can tell me is that she doesn't know whats wrong, and that as far as she can tell only a few other people in the world are also dealing with my exact weird reactions to medication that normally would help. Gonna try and go back on a beans and rice diet, see if that helps.
