I met Brent Spiner and spoke to him quite a bit! Also, Mr. T popped into the booth to say hi. I got to talk to him as well, and shake his hand. The security guards were laughing at how gagged I was at his sudden appearance. My dad also fist-bumped Jonathan Frakes when he left the booth and awkwardly said "Yeah! Star Trek!" (He tries his best - he's always preferred Star Wars. He became a casual viewer for me).
Conversation with Mr. Spiner -
When I was next, I asked my mom to record me on the line. The lady who was working her ass off as a cashier and as security personnel scolded me before I walked up because she thought I was recording him. I was so embarrased - I felt terrible - so I didn't bother to correct her.
As soon as I walked up, he playfully threatened to rip my septum piercing out ("one second, let me just-"). I asked him if he had a magnet.
I was freaking out and so I started talking about how my dad and I both loved his albulm (Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back, of course). I told him why..."because my dad really loves singing and because I do musical theater a lot"...
He spent time making the signature look pretty, and knew how to spell my name (it's a weird one so I was surprised). He said, "I'm a genius".
My mom noticed that he was signing with his left hand. "Oh, left handed?" she asked. He said, "Yes. See? I'm a genius".
She asked him his favorite color. He explained that there are two things he "can't stand": color and weather.
My mom just had to mention that I'm going to an impressive university to study acting and theatre, violently embarrassing me in the process. He told me about how his son.
He said, "Okay (my real name), let me ask you two questions".
We talked about acting. He thinks that anyone who relies too heavily on their "back-up plan" should pursue that first because the industry is difficult. I explained how I was going to study education, but bailed to pursue my passions.
Overall, he was so kind and my experience was lovely. I now have a signed 8 x 10 of Data in his Sherlock Holmes cosplay ☺️
