I like how Arcane starts off with Vi fighting to protect Powder, who has her eyes covered. It sums up their early dynamic. Vi doesn't want Powder to get too involved out of worry, but in the same way, it puts too much responsibility onto her since she feels she can't show weakness around Powder.

Vi's struggles to rely on others. She views Powder as someone who can't handle the world in its true form. This refusal to allow her Powder to share her burden causes her to struggle with her self-image. She begins to act rash in a desire to appease her sister, who she worries doesn't trust her.
