Hi, I'm just another random townie on Simblr. Welcome!
I will sometimes post some random sims stuff, but also Sims I created with download links to the tray files and sort of a journal on how my Random Save file creation is going to keep me motivated and store some small gameplay and storyline ideas.
Here is the navigation on topics that may resonate with you to filter out random posts:

If you are more curious about me and how I play Sims, read below the cut. Thank you so much for being here and remember to be good to yourself. ❤️
How do I Sim?
I do use mods, but I still consider myself a Vanilla player. I mod my game to add difficulty, depth and fix things EA can't be bothered about and remove as many of the BS annoyances and immersion breaking things from the game as possible. I sometimes test more extreme gameplay mods, but rarely stick to them long term.
For my gameplay I use some skill overhauls like Srsly's Cooking overhaul, tons of custom foods and harvestable for my gardening and cooking obsession, custom crafting mods etc.
I sometimes use CC for both CAS and BB for my gameplay, but when I build or create Sims to share with others I usually disable my CC and non-essential mods.
I have my likes on Maxis Match CC. Nothing against alpha, just not my aesthetics.
I do play with all the packs and kits - usually except for the latest content, I never update my game until major EA's f-ups are either fixed or fixable with mods. Not after HSY update destroyed my game completely.
Sometimes I limit myself on the pack usage, sometimes not. Depends on my mood. Remember you can always download any Sim or build, items will be missing or replaced, you can restyle missing parts with packs and CC you own.
When I create my Not-So-Random Townies and Households to replace game generated ones I always give them love: jobs, skills, education, glimpses of personality. They have short backstories to give them purpose in the Sim World and inspire a gameplay. I want my Sims to meet interesting Sims, not just ugly, unemployed randoms.
I may be dropping Not-So-Random Townies packs of 8 Sims with skills/jobs/degrees/skills to place them in your game to slow down a little generating random uglies and use more pre-existing Sims instead.
I don't care about original TS4 townies, I lately deleted them all and create Townies from the scratch for my save file. Don't look for Bella Goth here.
I might post builds later after they are playtested and polished up. My builds are not overcluttered, but decorated. I love to decorate with clutter but tiny, cluttered spaces are often unusable and contribute to Sims being stuck, too many items slow down the game. It also increases the number of packs used to build. If you like more detailed, cluttered builds then it's not really my style. I adore looking at them, but find them impossible to play.
About me?
I'm just a Random Townie, your average Simmer. Not a great builder, neither talented storyteller. I play many other games than TS4 (I love survival-crafting-building games, my other regular game of choice outside of difficult relationship with the TS4 is No Man's Sky).
I played TS1 when it launched as a 13 yo. Go figure how old I am. I skipped TS2, but played TS3 for years and loved it. When TS4 released in 2014 I got it and I hated it. I was playing TS3 exclusively until memorable 2020. I thought after 6 years that might be playable now. Little that I knew..
But I stuck to it, so I complain but play. It is what it is, right?
I'm an expat from Central European country living in Portugal. I have 3 cats.
English is not my first language, though I use it daily for 7 years and my brain often thinks in English instead of my native language, I do get lost in the grammar sometimes. Correct my mistakes if they're bothering, I'm always happy to learn since it is my main language on a daily basis.
Também falo um pouco de português, caso tenha os seguidores de PT ou BR aqui.
I created that Simblr to help me fight my mental health issues and have a creative hobby. I tried many things that didn't work out long term, but one thing I always come back to all these years is The Sims games. So I thought - why not?
If you like or use my creations leave me a comment or a like, so I know you were here. It will cheer me up ❤️
The more I know about the new EP (or rather another DLC to the existing DLC), the more I think @littlemssam Live in Business mod will still be better in so many aspects.
I've been doing this kind of self-employment, hobby based gameplay for years now with this mod. It's fun, the EP is tailored for how I like to play the game, but I somehow feel it's gonna be bad enough for me to keep the mod anyway.
I highly recommend this one, try it out before spending money on the EP.
And there are custom hobbies you can do too. Like making perfume. Or soap and candles. Custom nectaries so you don't need horse ranch. Milling and preserving foods. It's already more than pottery, candy making and tattoo making with reused animations from SPA day, lol.
I went down the rabbit hole yesterday and I created my first custom career for TS4. And well, it looks like it works. Weee!
The more intentionally I create my Sims, the more I struggle with the shallow waters of the TS4 gameplay. CAS is great, but the character creation is not only about making Sims pretty. At least for me.
I wanted to create a group of school teacher townies the other day, but the education career in TS4 is so tightly tied to the University pack, that in the end you can't be jus let's say t a high school principal. You get to become a dean or a professor - so it's actually an academic career.
I realized, that I may create a group of primary school teachers and their principal, but I have no way to actually give them the most basic job that should come with the base game...
I never thought of it before, because the career gameplay is so easy and I never feel challenged enough, I mostly play around with self-employment. Every TS4 job is a nice job, easy to progress and soo well paid.
I might end up creating a bunch of custom careers to spice up the life of my Sims. I guess it's never too late to try something new 💚😊

I feel slightly anxious posting my first build on Simblr. My building skills in TS4 aren't pro and having so many talented builders makes me feel a little bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless I hope you like it. 😊
Playing with Canva was fun as usual though.
It has been build and furnished for Jimmy McFlatt.
If you remove some things or place unfurnished it might be just an ugly, old cabin for a soft rags to riches.
My inspiration for the build, aside from Jimmy's story, came from several pictures I found in google of type of old, very rusty and dusty, messy desert cabins put together from scrap and random parts. I wanted it to be a conspiracy theorist private shelter, where that paranoid Sim would live his secretive life spying on their neighbors, making nectar, investigating alien abductions, writing his blog. Jimmy is a prepper who doesn't like any visitors, lives like a hermit in an ugly cabin with a secret basement where he does his secretive stuff.
I hope I managed to give it the vibe I intended.
Lot uses Simple Living, Off-the-Grid and Reuse&Recycle challenges and a Private Dwelling trait.
I've just watched the Business and "Hobbies" trailer and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. Which I know is not unique to me, and many others feel let down by this almost seemingly intentional mockery of a name. But it just shows me so much why I've been having difficultly playing / enjoying this game lately (aside from my own personal mental health issues going on right now).
And it just comes down to the fact that like many others...I'm so tired of this. I'm tired of having to wait for modders to improve on what EA half-bakes, I'm tired of building pretty sets and feeling bored the moment I hit play, I'm tired of making gorgeous characters only for them to feel flat.
It's like EA hits their target (like...Life & Death was a good pack from a gameplay standpoint, in my opinion) and it keeps you on the hook. Then they quickly shove whatever ungodly amount of kits between packs down our throats, and rush off to release the next one without it feeling full.
Like many of you...I bought & played The Sims and The Sims 2 (both when it came out back in the 2000's & on rerelease) and truthfully...while playing them, I couldn't help but to feel sad. It's goofy as fuck to say but it genuinely breaks my heart how far from grace the sims franchise has fallen.
I love this game so much. It really does make me happy at times, but lately, I just don't find much joy in it. If anything, it leaves me frustrated and disappointed these days whenever I try to play. Maybe it's part of getting older, and the fact that $40 is a lot of money when you're constantly scraping the bottom of your change jar to make it to the next payday.
This game is so bloated with content, and half of it is broken and uses the same animations over and over and over. Like with this much DLC, and how expensive all of it is, I should never be bored when I open this god damn game. Yet, unless I use poses for storytelling or mods, I always end up that way. Like, I don't even want to use poses anymore, and I'm sick of mods feeling almost essential just to enjoy myself.
I just want to open the game and play it as is. But it's not fun.
And that really, really makes me sad.
I don't know what this means long term for me as a simmer. Maybe I'm just in a lull, and just need some space from this game for a bit. I don't know. I guess we'll see what the future holds & maybe I'll feel better soon.
I’m still looking forward to the new packs, yet I feel every bit of sentiment mentioned in this post. The game often feels flat, crucial things are definitely still broken (trying to run a restaurant without Carls mod is a MESS, and it’s still snowing in my sims’ house, etc), and some of the new kits are kinda just blah.
Unfortunately, I find myself unable to enjoy this game without functional and gameplay mods.
I’m glad EA is pumping life into this game and I appreciate the aesthetic direction, but I’d like to see some of the basic playability issues addressed.
I play other games than The Sims and it's just unbelievable in what condition is that game after so many years of development and the shocking amount of money you need to pay EA for their scraps and pieces of constantly broken content.
It is unbelievable, because any other game being constantly maintained in unplayable state like TS4, would be despised and at some point - rather sooner than later - players would held the studio/developers accountable of their BS by abandoning the game. (Check for example the fail of New World couple of years back and how few mistakes led to players exodus, doesn't matter if they fixed it later.)
There are indie games fully created by a single person that have better gameplay than TS4 has - and will ever have, no hopes here. (Browse some info on Stardew Valley if you never heard if it.)
There is also a bigger game example from smaller studios which started with great disappointment after being overly hyped and upon release didn't deliver almost anything that was promised. But the studio took it seriously. They improved the game so much that today are it's simply incredible. And over the 8 years of constantly providing immense updates to gameplay adding new mechanics, new immersive quests and deep lore pieces, new activities, overhauling and expanding huge parts of the game both in terms of graphics and gameplay... THEY DID NOT TAKE A SINGLE EXTRA PENNY from their players. Look up the history of No Man's Sky, you might be shocked in comparison, if you only ever played TS.
Now this may be an unpopular opinion, but what the hell. If it triggers you, maybe it means something.
I mostly observe Sims Community, having my first simblr experience just now at 37 yo. But what I can see is also very alarming. The vast amount of TS4 Content Creators that are being reimbursed financially by the EA for promoting their faulty product. There is something I think we need to understand when we are consuming content from our favorite Simmers on YT, IG, TikTok, here on Tumblr. These content creators, with all my love and respect for their work and their content, may not be on EA's payroll, but they are benefiting financially not only from the ads placed in their content anymore. They are biased and they are being paid by EA to be biased.
This is really great PR and marketing strategy. Listen to their sugar coated honest reviews, fake enthusiasm and fake surprise to the content they were involved in making and now you are listening to nothing less than a lousy sales pitch. To be clear, use their creator code to support them if you like them, watch their content, but lets just keep our critical thinking on and call out the BS when its needed.
There's nothing bad in it if you are happy with what EA delivers, just giving you a perspective here. What EA does is predatory and abusive. Look at the lawsuits related to the Epic Games Fortnite being exploitative and using techniques triggering your urge to spend money on content. So many of us, Simmers, are adults, many of us probably with or own kids. We so often despise games like Fortnite with their time limited offers, battle pass, constant FOMO. Getting to 100th paid DLCs and still counting, while being massively promoted by content that should be always tagged as sponsored, well, I dont think it is so much different.
Happy Simming everyone. Love your game, love your Sims, the stories you are telling publicly or just in your head, love your favorite Simmers. But be real too. 💚
The conspiracy theory Jimmy McFlatt is so obsessed about might have something in it...
WIP for my hybrid family of regular mortals and aliens.
I really enjoyed occults in TS3, but I somehow avoid them in TS4. Making them is a little bit of a challenge. I try my best. Jimmy deserves proper drama in his neighborhood.
While I was busy catching up with some real life stuff last days, I decided to finally update my game. It's about time. Bugs should be patched, mods mostly updated. I'm old and patient. When I heard of dramas where mod creators were harassed by their community to deliver mods fixes and updates instantly, it's really disturbing for me, to say it in a diplomatic way.
Anyways.
This also means I need to go through and update my mods with some sweet dopamine rush from some CC shopping from all the wonders I saw lately.
I play without CC recently and I honestly feel like I'm rediscovering the EA's content, but some twist would be nice for a change. I'm mostly bored of my choices of hairstyles. Even playing with all the packs...
Time to visit my fav patreon and simblr profiles and start the Friday Night Fun!
Sending all my sim-love to all fantastic mod and cc creators who make playing this game possible.❤️💚🌺

👽 Jimmy's home and Sandtrap bar finished lots will follow in the next couple of days 👽
Jimmy is... something. That's for sure. Everybody in Oasis Springs knows Jimmy or at least heard of him. Or about his blog "The Earth is McFlatt".
Jimmy lives a peculiar lifestyle. His cabin in Bedrock Strait looks like he handcrafted it himself - which he obviously did. Can't trust nobody - he says. He prefers to stay off the grid, but neighbors swear they can see the computer screen shining through the window of his wooden bungalow. And there is also that satellite dish he tried to hide in the bushes... It's better to stay away from his place, really, not that Jimmy likes any visitors.
Before becoming a writer Jimmy lived from nectar making, a little source of income and happiness. His juice was good, but oh boy, the stories he had to tell - they were even better. That's how he suddenly got his first real job with a paycheck. His boss accidentally overheard him talking to himself about the mind controlling aliens, Sixam planet and abductions by flying saucers. Jimmy's stories were so awesome that he offered him a position of a blogger to write all of that down, share with people and make money off of it!
Reluctant at first, Jimmy agreed to the offer and that's how "The Earth is McFlatt" began. Sims all over the SIMNation just LOVED it.
Sudden popularity didn't change Jimmy much. He still lives in his old cabin, making nectar in the basement, researching and writing at nights. He didn't regret it for a single moment though and was inspired by his readers to open a club of like-minded Sims and together expose the alien conspiration. Now that even the Oasis Spring's Daily wrote an article about it the candidates for Jimmy's newest endeavor will for sure be queuing at the Sandtrap Den bar.
👽
Jimmy is ready to add some spice and drama to your game. You can play with him and explore his story further or make him a new, interesting Not-So Random Townie for your Sims to meet.
He has multiple outfits, job, likes and dislikes, extra traits and skills etc. related to his lifestyle to give him some deeper personality.
Unfortunately, the Clubs settings doesn't get saved together with a Sim who is a club leader, so Jimmy will be clubless in your game. You can ignore it, create one based on the picture below or follow your own idea.
Jimmy is the first official resident of Bedrock Strait, OS, in my save file, but you can have him in your game too.
Now while I finish, time to put together scraps of ideas and think what to do exactly in the next neighborhood. This one may be still lacking last details and some play around with T.O.O.L but the general shape will be as is. Need some more Inspired moodlet!
Although Bedrock Strait still lacks one last home, I already found an inspiration for the build and already have a family with piece of lore in mind. Inspired moodlet kicks in today, so it's almost finished 😎
So far we have:
Sandtrap Dive Bar - dusty and rusty desert den with a club hangout at the back.
Slipshod Wagon Park - 4 units residential rental with small, but rather spacy wooden wagons for a small community of Sims. 3 of them will be occupied with 3 households of 6 Sims in total and one is still available for rent. It's abandoned, rather unfurnished and needs renovation. Soft rags to riches friendly.
Agave Cabin - home to Jimmy McFlatt from my previous post.
TBD - home to family of 2+2
Nookstone - small, but cozy wooden starter house below 15k with some basic furnishings. Off the grid, simple living - soft rags to riches friendly.
I have some other builds generally already on the map, but many of them still need some improvements or even change in the initial designs. I am not a very skilled builder in that game, just decent.
I build whenever I get the inspired moodlet, I post to gallery when I finish to store these versions separate from all the drafts in my library. Then I give it a break. Focus my attention somewhere else, do a bit of lore thinking or some CAS, then I come back to my builds with a fresh eye and new ideas. It's easier for me not to get overwhelmed or bored, this way, especially with bigger builds.
Some Sims for this neighborhood are done, some need small editing, mostly adding extra outfits. I want to see my resident Sims wearing some variety of clothes when I meet them. It makes them less boring 💚
Working on a small piece of lore for a Sim I made lately.
Nothing too deep, just in need for a creative outlet for my vision of him and what his Sim life would be.
Random TS4 annoyance for today: being a Club Leader doesn't get saved when you save your Sim to the Library. So when I post that Sim later on, whoever feels like following my idea will have to set up the club manually anyway.
It would be a nice to get a townie from the gallery with a club of someone else's idea and have it organically grow in your save and make community lots alive.
Well. Manual it is.
Schedule School Events: Prom, Exams and Career day (Public Release 7.02)
I continue to make some improvements for High School Years. Today it's a mod similar to Zerbu's Schedule Festivals Yourself. Actually it works in a similar way - so big thanks to Zerbu for allowing me to use it as a base!
Your calendar will be cleared of school events until you don't plan a holiday with your own traditions.
Let's take a trip to the South of France, where fishermen catch fresh mussels and sell them in abundance. Add some garlic, butter, parsley and white wine and voila - a delicacy is born!

This year, one of my New Years resolutions was to try to play sims 4 without any mods or cc. I want you to know that I made it 7 WHOLE MINUTES in game before I closed out, went to your tumblr and started downloading all of your creations again. I know this does not sound like a lot but it's a new record for me! OK, that's all I wanted to say, carry on, Gawd, Amen <3
😂🤣😂
Congrats on the new record, i would fail immediately 😅
I remember a post from reddit last year with someone making a drama after downloading extreme violence, basemental drugs and some other very intense mods. They said it was awful and they were never gonna use any mods again and be forever vanilla.
That person could never be more clueless.
I still remember how pissed I was after the HSY update when my Sims were dying when getting out of bed, my huge garden was restarting every morning etc. It wasn't EA who fixed my game. It was modders.
Play vanilla without CC if you want, avoid extreme gameplay mods. But do mod the game if you can, for the sake of actually enjoying it more.
Want a personal recommendation where to start? Go check @littlemssam random small mods and bug fixes and see what you are missing out.
I should get another sim to paint from reference how Gabriela is painting herself from the reference.
I think she is settling in the save, I think her home is almost ready too. Her short story is already settled in my head too, now it's a matter of telling it.
Falling in love with the T.O.O.L by @twistedmexi to make the empty spaces of TS4 worlds a little less empty.
Yet another game changing mod to answer what EA refuses to give.
We have no open worlds. We cant add new lots to the worlds. Sims have nothing to do in the often very empty spaces in between the lot's in the neighborhoods. You must go through loading screen in order to use a bench on that stupid park lot placed right next to their home lot. That's my random TS4 annoyance for today.
But I'm gonna fix it for my save file. At least a little, I don't want to exaggerate either.
You can place and arrange any object as you please with the T.O.O.L and many builders use it to build extra customized decor in the way the game would never allow you to. I like creative decor, but I also want to my builds to be easy to modify, renovate and I like them to be as functional as possible, not only pretty.
My main goal with the TOOL will be enhancing a bit the useless areas in between the lots so my Sims can enjoy more small outdoor activities (sims will interact with interactable items placed off lot) without a need to always go through loading screens. Or just have some more decor/clutter/plants here and there.
Or to enhance your storytelling and lore. Like that extra fence in between the lots with no peepers sign. Sim living there doesn't like visitors. And he also doesn't give a damn about placing fence outside of his parcel to mark his territory.
Mods creators love for that game and their passion is absolutely amazing. 💚
I'm working on a Sim to be a resident in my save file.
Her name is Gabriela Lopez and she is of South American origin.
Her very first meal she autonomously cooked on a playtest of her home was Pollo a la Brasa.
I guess she truly liked the personality and story I prepared for her, just as she loved that grilled chicken for breakfast.
Wanna eat chicken for breakfast? Gabi won't judge you. 😎
