there is a screen reader / magnification program that is the only one the low vision clinic knows of with these features and it is $650 Canadian Dollars behind specific approved vendors that require you to be geographically close to them and get government approval of a degree that I am only just now reaching after being visually impaired for going on seven years. I feel normal about this

Magnifies a display beyond standard options with keyboard / mouse movement inputs or voice commands,

Has different color filter options for text / background distinction,

Can change and magnify the cursor beyond standard amounts,

Has a keyboard echo (says the character you've pressed on the keyboard out loud)

... there is a genuine, GENUINE need for you to code this and put it at a more accessible price point than $650 Canadian Dollars which I also just learned is a SUBSCRIPTION FEE AND NOT EVEN PERPETUAL. if you are reading this and able to code I am begging you. would genuinely change lives

but it turns out he’s just really autistic and needs super clear direction + he writes his emails like a 1911 telegram. i LOVE this guy. i’ve never worked with someone who wrote so clearly and in such detail, and absorbs everything i say. plus whenever he gets an email he responds immediately with “received. response to follow. thank you.” top 10 coworkers of all time. top 5 even.

Welcome to “August cannot get over the idea that Ranger horses are all service/assistance animals”

Today’s edition takes place during The Battle of Skandia. Will is observing the Temujai and notices how they treat their horses and objects, as means to an end. This makes him very uncomfortable because Tug is his friend!

That immediately made me think of how I view my Service Dog in Training vs. how some other people view their assistance animals. My dog is my friend, my partner in crime. Yes he is a tool to help me manage my disability and allows me to do things I wouldn’t be otherwise but he’s still my partner in crime. If I see something cool, I’m pointing it out to him. I keep him up to date on fandom drama for goodness sake. Just like it’s absurd to Will that the Temujai saw their horses as a means to an end, it’s absurd to me that some people see their dogs as simply a way to be able to do what they want.
