I hope you don't mind me tagging you! I feel as if my thoughts could be better organized in a post.
Spiritual beliefs are something entirely different than what my original post was intending to address. I'm not here to tell you that you're right or wrong about what your spiritual beliefs are either! My post was more so directed at people who get so caught up in believing they are [character irl] that they become afraid to be themselves out of fear they aren't "source accurate."
It also comes down to science. To be clear, I am separating science and spirituality here. When an alter splits off and has no real identity, that alter can cling to a fictional character and therefore become a fictional introject. That doesn't make the alter that character IRL, it makes them an alter based off that character, but they still have their own personality and quirks that can fall outside of how that fictional character acts.
Of course someone can be a fictive and align with the fictional character they're based off of almost perfectly, and that's fine to. I mentioned this in another comment, but I'm not here to police people and how they act!!! You know yourselves better than I do and ag the end of the day this blog is for my thoughts and my opinions!
This is all based on the current understanding of how DID/OSDD works. But I have to keep in mind that DID/OSDD is terribly understudied, so I could be dead wrong, and if a study comes out that proves I am, in fact, wrong, that's fine by me and I'll change my views!
I'm really glad you brought up spirituality, because it's an entire other unique experience that I neglected to think of when making my initial post. TL;DR that post doesn't apply to you - and I don't mean that in a negative way, I hope it doesn't come across as such.
Also! To clarify on my use of the word "you." When I say "you" I am talking more metaphorically. I'm not talking about myself, I'm referring to another person, so I refer to that person as "you." I hope that makes sense, again, I don't mind clarifying on things if I need to, I am not the most eloquent person ^^;
Thank you for leaving your reply. I truly appreciate when people share their thoughts and experiences because it gives me things to think about personally! It means a lot to me!
