La Fortuna Waterfall & Arenal Volcano We drove the 3.5 hours in our rental car and paid $25 in total to hike the volcano and swim at the base of the waterfall. We also got to explore the graffiti hot springs. All three beautiful areas are located close to each other. Most tours go for $200 and you’re with a group of people. Playa Negra known as black sand beach, has extremely fine, dark sand. There’s a Sloth sanctuary nearby so you can catch some action. There’s a restaurant right down the street that serves pizza! (Rare find) and normal Costa Rican Dishes. The water is insanely warm, although the sand is annoying. It’s so fine, it’s in and on everything. Beware spending a few weeks getting it off and out of you. At this location there’s a little outdoor gym and playground with swings and hammocks hung from the trees. It’s great. There are horses, vultures, lizards and bats as well that come creeping out as the sun descends. 📍Garabito, Puntarenas, Costa Rica This was a beach we stopped at on our way to Punta Leona. It was something out of Jurassic Park! The water was insanely warm there was sea glass, coconuts, a Crane and some friendly pack puppies. We also saw some leaf cutting ants along the trail. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze in New York brought to you by Historic Hudson Valley! The Pumpkin Blaze will be running until Nov 24th. Get your tickets online if they aren’t already sold out! Next year they will be opening a secondary location on Long Island. This is a great attraction to enjoy with friends and family. It’s impressive. A few fun facts: All the organic pumpkins are carved by volunteers. Girl Scouts re-light them with real candles which takes about 3 hours to do so. The props are artistic pumpkins that can be re-used and you’d never know they weren’t organic. This was an amazing spooky adventure over the season. Abandoned Mansion in Massachusetts. Private property - No trespassing. It was dark, without power. We climbed through overgrown plants, broken stair cases, giant basements and avoided the roof altogether for fear the cops would be called. There was an immense amount of graffiti art and a definite creep factor to the place. Everything was broken, out of place, but it still retained its immense beauty. On the outside it looked like an old plantation mansion with giant columns. I wouldn’t take back crawling through a busted basement window and sitting in the dark speaking protection prayers.
