I'll have to respectfully disagree. Having too many LIs waters down the game and it's story, turning it into more of a cash grab than it already is. This isn't a game like Genshin or Honkai where you play as someone meeting new friends and allies with ambiguous attachments, this is a romance game that harbors deep connection between the player and the character along with a set story in place that revolves around these specific characters. Six is what the game and it's story was built for. If more were to be added, there would have to be a full reset of the game's story and even it's UI.

We don't know what the game was built for. It could have been 6, 12 or 20 for all we know. Their recent letter stated that the current and any future li's were cancelled. This means that the story was planned to have more li's and that will cause more issues to the game if they had anticipated for it and mostly likely have begun to create for it. Game development where you create characters stories and personalities to this degree that Lads does takes years. So much work goes into it, so it would never be rushed or out of nowhere. Also, how would it water down the game and story at all anyway? Their stories interconnect to a degree. After that, everyone gets their own personal storylines and it makes the mc and the characters more interesting.

Additionally, this is an otome game. Like you said, its already a cash grab. So adding new li's is not changing anything, it just puts more options that you literally don't need to fund at all. I've been gaming since I was young and have spent money on a lot of games the whole time. While I have wanted to drop bands for certain content, im smart enough to understand that 1) thats fucking stupid to spend that much money on a game and 2) its a game and i don't need to spend money when i can enjoy the free content. If you cannot control your finances in the first place, thats on you. You aren't required to pull for cards and spend for outfits. If you get fomo to the degree where you drop large amounts of money, that means you need to take a step back. Also, reruns exist too. I want the promises in LADS but i don't feel the need to spend that much money each time to see the content when I can very easily get the content elsewhere for free too.

I don't understand this mindset where new content, and in otome games that is li's, would ruin the game in the long run? As much as I don't like infold, they have proven that they can make good plots and content in general. So i really don't believe that a new li would ruin the game at all and it definitely wouldn't result in a full reset to add new content

Not to mention that in LaDS, the love interests have little to no romantic consequence in the main story. Yes, some of them (such as Xavier and Rafayel) know MC from before and found her because of it, but so far we are presented (in the main story) an MC that sees them as her friends, family, and partners-in-crime while she works to dismantle something bigger after the explosion. The one time we get a more-than-friends interaction is when Rafayel kisses her to be able to take her underwater and awaken the Sea God, but aside from that... all romance takes place in myths, cards, events, with every LI being inconsequential to the others- other than yknow, the jealousy they could canonically feel but again, we are not shown that because we don't get to see any of that in the main story ladhsdsjhl. More LIs just means more characters in the main story, and all romance and otome elements will happen elsewhere.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

it's probably from assholes making asks a minefield of trolling/harassment for years with no real blocking ability, which turned people off from allowing asks on their blogs so as a whole the site moved away from it

but now that we do have better blocking, we should try to revive it.
