Absolutely hilarious. A fake hating trope (Lan WangJi/Jiang Cheng) and outsider POV (Xichen) who actually does know what’s going on. It gets a little smoopy at the end but it’s very believable for their characters. Very fun read.

Absolutely adorable but I skipped over this one about 12 different times bc I saw catfish and thought it was like, an animal hybrid/animal spirit au. Um. Please read it and know that it’s not about actual catfish

A new plan hatches in Wei Wuxian’s head. If this nocturnal, bottom-feeding, slimy, invasive mudcat posing as a beautiful actor thinks he can sway Wei Wuxian with animal pictures and a sob story and an unbelievably stilted way of texting with still no dick pictures in the first five minutes of conversation, he has another thing coming. Wei Wuxian’s got it, alright, he has this in the fucking bag.

Wei Wuxian plots to expose a catfish using strategic memes and turtle pictures while wiggling his way out of family dinner. Lan Wangji just wants companions.

Once again, but a step to the left

I really appreciate fics that tell the OG story but give it one little change

Once change dominoes until we’re reading an entirely different story

I particularly like ones that have to do with a slight change in powers or one single decision made different

BAMF characters hiding skills/knowledge vs just showing off

If they are sent back by someone/something on purpose, the inherent choice to choose to disobey them and be better

Being frustrated with slow technology dang it

Characters not caring about things that bothered them before (outside views, gender presentation, etc.)

Showering love on the people who died

Similarly: I’m going to redeem you and you’re going to like it

People being upset that you’ve changed/erased/replaced/killed your younger self and all the angst that might come from that

^^^ also might turn into Two Beings in One if you and your younger self share a body

Taking Care of The Children You Chose

Fics where children or teenagers are brought in and taken care of, especially if the caregiver has no real obligation to

Kids coming from bad homes who need patience and love and teaching that they are worth all the trouble

Kids who are worried about the where they will have to go when this time here runs out

Adults who are broken or scared and worried about how they can even take care of someone else

Adults who have gotten that help and want to help others

There are so many good ways to take this kind of trope and definitely enjoy reading them
