The thing about Whiskey is that Check, Please isn’t his story, its Bitty’s. We watch all four years of Bitty’s college journey, through his coming out, to his crush, his eventual relationship with Jack, and then trying to navigate that relationship in the world they live in. The only parts of Whiskey we see are the parts Bitty sees, so we don’t get to see Whiskey’s whole journey because Bitty is only a small part of it, he’s still growing and trying to understand who he is, his story still isn’t done, but we just don’t get to see it like we did with Bitty’s

Yall...don’t say that you “hate disney remakes” and “wish disney would come out with original content instead” and then go to see the Lion King because you want to see how bad it is.

Disney is still making money, whether you go because you want to genuinely see it or you go because you want to see how much you hate it.

Disney recieves all its messages in money. If Lion King flops, they’ll stop making these shitty remakes. Please, for the love of our childhoods, don’t go see this movie as a joke.

these movies are not simple cashgrabs

theyre specifically made for copyright laws to keep their stories and characters from becoming public domain.

dont see the movies duh they suck but theyre not simple cash grabs riding nostaligia and only that, theyre specifically saving their own asses from having to give up their precious characters to the public domain. disney has a lot of money lobbying for harsher copyright and making copyright indefinite, and they have had some copyright guidelines legally changed to suit them.

It would be cool if the new marvel series were to build up to a young avengers movie. Eli being introduced in the falcon and winter solider series, Tommy and Billy being introduced in the Scarlet Witch and Vision one, and Kate in Hawkeyes.

I think they moving towards that. They ready have introduce two of *members of Young Avengers (Kate who her dad even called Hawkeye) and Cass Lang as Stature. Rumors has it they’re going to add Spiderman (which makes sense cause he’s a lot younger (16) here then in the comics (35) around this time. I’m not sure how they would work in Eli since his grandfather doesn’t exist in the time line and there’s only been one Captain America (two if you count Falcon now). I would love to see the Hulkling and Wiccan which probably deal with some reality breaker shit. Oh. And Kid Loki would be fun.

There were also the rumors that Eli was going to be put in Black Panther, but they felt it was better not to shift focus, so maybe they are at least thinking of adding Patriot in some way!

Young Avengers fandom roll call

I’ve had a few conversations with people recently about the fandom - how it feels like conversations have died out, fanworks aren’t circulating the same way they used to, and how it’s a shame that there’s no real central hub of fandom conversation anymore – not the way LJ communities and mailing lists used to bring everyone to the same location. 

The lack of new material’s also obviously an issue, but new people are finding the series all the time. 

Tumblr’s not set up for it, and most people aren’t looking to add more social media networks to their daily lives, so I won’t bother proposing slack channels or dreamwidth communities, but I figure it’s worth sending a post around to try and make connections. 

So if you consider yourself a Young Avengers / New Avengers / Kate-Hawkeye / America Chavez fan (have I missed any books?), hit like or reblog. 

This is adamantly not a request for everyone to follow everyone else, but a way to get a sense of who’s still out there. Just because the platform sucks, it doesn’t mean we can’t pop out of our bubbles occasionally to say hi. ;)
