Uthgerd the Unbroken: My advice to the kids is that they should fight people on the playground while they can still get away with it without legal consequences.

"I was recruited as an acolyte of Vaermina as a young elf. I had no real childhood to speak of... we weren't permitted to socialize."
um so quick question you do know that the world isn’t divided into People Blindly Accepting Of Gender Roles and Smart Trans Ppl. the world isn’t divided into People In Romantic Relationships and Single Aros. the world isn’t divided into People Who Socialize Easily and Oppressed Autistics. the world isn’t divided into Enlightened Queer People and Stupid Misogynists. like you are aware of this ? i hope you are aware of this
It is the year 2026 and you will still sometimes see discourse posts about how bisexuality and pansexuality do not have any kind of defined hard difference and most attempts to create one are blatantly biphobic by trying to objectively present pansexuality as the more advanced, progressive and morally pure identity, and you will think, "is this seriously still relevant or are you just fighting ghosts from 2012?", but then you open the notes and immediately see ten billion people commenting "actually my personal definition means there is an objective difference and it's that pansexuality is the more advanced, progressive and morally pure identity"

this kind of riot police behaviour is exactly what we saw in the US in 2020, when even entirely peaceful protests against police brutality would be met with beatings and tear gas, riot cops tripping over each other in their eagerness to get a blow in at the back of a fleeing journalist or shoot a beanbag round at someone just standing in the street.
and it's similar to what we saw in Hong Kong in 2019, when protests against the extradition law quickly became protests against the heavy handed response to the first protests; while policing norms differ across the world there's definitely a commonality once the helmets and shields and batons come out.
deadgenerations said: tbh: group violence feels awesome especially when you are pwning n00bs. I don’t think people are good at being restrained in those situations
yeah, and there have been enough leaks of cops psyching each other up about what they're going to do to protesters, much like messages that came out during investigations of them beating the crap out of someone who turned out to be an undercover cop.

There is a direct connection b/w leftist ideology presuming that white people are racist and the policemen jumping to the conclusion that Nowak was falsely claiming he had been stabbed in a desperate attempt to avoid a racism charge.
this story is the current obsession of those who believe in race war, most notably the owner of twitter and the rubes who follow him, and in some ways it's even dumber than the George Floyd obsession, not least because people should have learned better by now.
if I was the cop in that situation I would probably have assumed the guy on the ground was drunk! which is what British cops usually have to deal with when they get called to deal with someone being disorderly; murders are rare and the perpetrator doesn't usually call the cops.
and when the cops realised he had been stabbed they arrested the murderer and jailed him for life; this story is only an outrage if you believe cops should be clairvoyant, or arrest anyone of Indian ancestry on sight regardless of what's happening.
but obviously if you're already mad as hell that an Indian family is allowed to live in Britain in the first place then this is a convenient excuse to stoke racial hysteria and call for dumb policies.
Looking at the bodycam video it really doesn't *look* like he'd been stabbed, you can't seen any blood or anything.
They arrive on scene to a call having been told that some drunk dude was being disorderly, find him delirious under a windowsil, drag him out, gently lay him in the recovery position. He says he's been stabbed, the guy who called the police says nobody was stabbed, police agree it doesn't LOOK like he's been stabbed but that they'll still check. And then they check, and then one minute later they call an ambulance. And once they figure who stabbed who the stabber is promptly arrested and sentenced to life in prison. Anything the stabber says to try to weasel out of life in prison (that the stabbed guy was racist and hate criming him) are swiftly dismissed.
The evidence of 'Two Tier Policing' here is that a murderer attempted to play the race card. But failed! The attempt to avoid a life sentence for murder by claiming the guy was racist and playing the victim didn't work, and they guy who did that got a life sentence.
But, like, The British Public can't really be reasoned with, so c'est la vie.
it's certainly not difficult to find more egregious examples of British cops doing a terrible job, but the incidents that spark discourse storms tend to be the dumb ones.
idealized feudalism/caste system: Your role in society is determined by your birth, which means you don't need to struggle or compete in order to have a role in society. You are the miller, or farmer of plot 12; and this is as inherent to you as your name. You don't need to prove that you deserve it.
(shh, don't notice that historical feudalism/caste doesn't work like this. Or how this can't respond to market demand. Or that this is similar to the "you get a state assigned house and job" from North Korea propaganda)
5 minutes of research on what American troops did in Vietnam will make you understand why people called them baby killers
Basically my primary frustration with a lot of mainstream left-ish framings of trans issues is the treatment of trans rights as a concession they're making to be nice, rather than a principled stance grounded in a real, material understanding of the world.
It leads to this attitude of being vaguely embarrassed to support trans people, which crumbles when Right Wing Dipshit Pundit #33145 starts going on about "harsh truths" that a competent advocate could call out for being incorrect.
"You are transphobic" as an argument by itself is a lot weaker than "You are demonstrably, unambiguously wrong about this issue. You have reached an incorrect conclusion despite having all the information needed to be correct, because you'd rather be transphobic than right."
maybe an underexplored aspect the "calling veterans babykillers vs recruiting them" discourse is that a known tactic of infiltrators is to claim to be a military veteran and imply their experience could be utilized to do a terrorism as a way of luring naive people in for entrapment. maybe suspicion of veterans actually acts as a bit of protective against that
on top of this, the military shares something of a common "career" cluster with like, law enforcement, and private investigators, attracts similar sorts of people. so thats another way suspicion of veterans (and ex cops etc.) could be potentially be protective
Spanish Inquisition apologia is really funny bc its all the same talking points that make no sense to say in context its like ppl just memorized some pamphlet handed out in the entrances of SSPX churches
Like one i keep seeing is “did you know the Spanish Inquisition didnt really burn witches? Bet you didnt know that huh. That was the Prots. Protestants did more witch hunting than the Spanish Inquisition (which didnt do much witch executions) huh you didnt know that did ya i bet Anglo-Prot Communist-Atheist propaganda told you different huh”
Witch hunts became a thing bc the medieval inquisition was literally running out of people they could accuse of heresy so they could seize and sell off their property with the only remaining remaining heretic communities being impoverished peasants hiding in mountains who weren’t exactly a cash cow compared to Cathar sympathizing nobles (which is why Waldensians were able to like, stick around) and so people decided that if they invented a fake religion of Reverse-Christianity that sorcerers and witches would be participants of then they could upgrade the crime of witchcraft from corporal punishment to heresy.
But see in Spain they didn’t have that problem bc you had a large population of (forced/coereced) converts from Judaism. And for technical/legalistic reasons only open practice of Judaism was banned but the newly formed Spanish Inqusition found a solution in that the term “Judaizer” is a very old (arguably the first) heresiological term that refers to the heresy of Christians seeking to adopt and incorporate the religious customs of Jews into Christianity and thus was technically a crime committed by Christians against Christianity. And while there were plenty of true “crypto-Jews” it was only a very small number that were fully observant ‘underground Jews’ with a larger number syncretizing practices or even fully abandoning Jewish religion while retaining certain customs out of habit or tradition like not eating pork because you never got a taste for it. But because the crime being investigated was that of heresy and not adherence to Judaism that meant it was not actually a defense if someone can demonstrably prove they are a feast-day observing fasting confession-going Catholic if they kept to not working on Saturday because their profession they’ve been doing their whole life involved selling goods or services on Sunday. Also especially early on insufficient commitment to Christianity can be demonstrated when a person that only recently converted is unable to recite the proper Latin creeds or is witnessed neglecting to fast on a given day. So like just as how witch hunters could go into a village and be all like “I HEARD THERE WAS SPOILED MILK TELL ME A WOMAN NO ONE LIKES THAT ALSO OWNS PROPERTY PREFERABLY A WIDOW WITH NO HEIRS NEARBY OR ILL THINK YOU DID IT” a Spanish Inquisitor could go into a formerly heavily Jewish area and even if they couldn’t guarantee hitting any given person with charges, they could cast a net and near guarantee catching at least some people who can then be convicted of heresy and forced to forfeit their assets etc.
