Anyway they all met. Jax shows up first and freaks out because

Ever notice how in Song of Achilles, when ever Patroclus tries to claim something as his, he just ends up losing it.

When he was child he tried telling another boy that his dice were his and he couldn't have them.

What happened? He killed the boy and lost his dice while leaving. He was exiled. He lost everything, his home, his parents, his old life, all because he tired claiming a toy as his.

Fast forward to Phthia. He explains how everything he has isn't his. The clothes on his back, his sandals, his room, all belong to the king.

Then he meets Achilles. The two form a friendship. But one day Patroclus takes a risk. He tries claiming Achilles as his by kissing him. And what happens. Achilles runs away and the next day he's sent away. Even though they find each other again, Patroclus still believed he lost Achilles.

Every time Patroclus tries making something his, he loses it. His dice, his old life, Achilles at one point. Every time.
