real talk I think steampunk is kinda neat like sorta neat you'know like as a little touch of spice to a setting that shouldn't normally have that kinda stuff. like a robot arm here a gun there some contraptions elsewheres. like skies of arcadia levels of steampunk is pretty much ideal. but y'see ultimately I'm pro-steampunk as a concept. but real talk for a second if your setting has a place called "the clockwork [location or concept]" I'm gonna beat you to death with hammers.
Sounds like someone's just salty theyre stuck in my clockwork labyrinth again
I know you're laughing at me I can hear the sprockets on your brown tophat jingling and once I find my way out of here you're fucking toast dude
a lot of people dont care about insect biomass collapse bc when they hear we are losing 2.5% of the insect biomass per year they just imagine the cockroach and housefly population decreasing by that much. they dont realize those are among the only ones that will remain unbothered
you can make a little oasis right where you are, and it matters
every year of restoring native plants I see a great increase in the insect populations, and loads of new insects i never saw before (all of them harmless--the insects that are harmful or parasitic on humans are the main ones being unaffected by the decrease in insect populations)
(a large part of) the problem is Plant Sameness. we must restore plant diversity
my most sick and twisted fantasy
I don’t really usually post non fandom art on here but I lowk made a painting after having similar feelings
machine uses image recognition to detect lice on fish and then uses laser to blast the parasites.
I have been enjoying seeing people experience food this World Cup

fighting for my asexual brethren, if you think someone who is asexual isn't a part of the LGBTQ community get the fuck off my blog. Including you, people who think cishet aces don't count. Fuck you especially you're no better than the acephobic people. Yeah. I said it. You suck too. But, aces. Asexuals, all of you, I love you. I love aces who have multiple queer labels, I love aces who are straight and cisgender. I love you guys. I love aces who have sex and aces who want to throw up at the thought of it. I love everyone in between and I think no matter what you should be accepted for who you are. We all are surrounded in a world faced by purity culture but also faced with a constant push for sex and romance and blah blah blah, who cares. Aces, live how you want. Be yourselves. Do not let others push you down, do not let people push you out from this community. You are a part of us. Anyone who says different doesn't know shit. I love you aces. I'm sorry if others don't. I will love you through every bad thing that has been said or has happened to you to get you here. Happy pride month. Celebrate who you are and who you will become. I love you all.
link to a post like this about aromantics too! Because I love both <3 /gen
here's where to find it on windows 10
Ugh, it was in mine. It's off now.
IT GETS WORSE
I had to turn this off, but it's something that allows Windows and anyone using your device to generate text/images.
LOBOTOMIZE YOUR MACHINES
AI is a freacking plague, I share this for any windows user.
Sometimes healing isn’t learning that your reactions never made sense.
Sometimes it’s realizing they made perfect sense for what you survived, even if they no longer serve you now.
Those are two very different things.

My next Black History Month request:
Pick one of James Baldwin's works and read it!!! The Fire Next Time is an excellent essay, most of us are familiar with the quote on gay white people from The Last Interview but not the rest of it. If Beale Street Could Talk even has a movie!

Nichelle Nichols (December 28, 1932 - )
“Uhura never had another name during the series. One of the fan writers wrote “Upenda” - which means “peace” in Swahili, I understand — not officially, but in some of their fan writings. And it sort of took hold. But when they were going to do the official history of Star Trek in a published book, the writer called Gene and asked him was “Uhura” her first name or her last name? Gene said, “Well, Nichelle and I never decided.” We always leaned towards it being her last name because it’s taken from the Swahili “uhuru” which means freedom. So it would sort of be like the same as “Freeman.” So he said, “You can make it her last name.” The writer said, “What about her first name? I’ve come up with one in Swahili. It’s Nyota.” Gene said, “I can’t give you that permission because Nichelle and I named her together, and she has rights to that, so you’ll have to call her and get her permission.” So he gave him my number, and he called me and I laughed and was delighted. He said, “I have a name and it’s Nyota.” I said, “That’s quite beautiful. What does it mean?” He said, “It means ‘star’.” I said, “You can have my permission!” So I have since said that her name is Nyota Upenda Uhura, which would mean a free-floating star: “star of freedom and peace”. I like that.” — NICHELLE NICHOLS
