Obviously it was my duty (?) to create an Elgar'nan piece, and a mural no less!
I wanted to represent his feats as Evanuris, but in a way they could be read as his crimes as well.
The use of dragons as thralls, the defeat of the Titans, the Helm of the Solar (I love the theory that's the origin of Tranquility), the murder of Mythal (is he taking out the dagger or is he stabbing her? Who knows) and of course, his victory over Fen'Harel, shown as yet another beast to control.

i love translators’ notes. i love seeing a little footnote that’s like “compare my good and grass-touching translation to the STUPID translations of smith and johnson, who rendered the passage ‘xyz’ because their heads are so far up their ass they’re giving ouroboroses body dysmorphia” or “this sentence isn’t translated very well, but that’s because the author wasn’t making any FUCKING sense”
I like how in In Hushed Whispers, Dorian insists on explaining the details of Alexius's time travel spell to every individual prisoner you rescue, even Leliana despite her flat out saying she doesn't give a fuck. She was just tortured for a year but he's gonna tell her about this awesome time magic he helped invent anyway
So I’m running a Dragon Age campaign loosely based around the events of Veilguard (main conflict is the same, timeline is similar, most everything else is different), and today is our equivalent of the Minrathous/Treviso choice.
Instead of Ghilan'nain sending blighted dragons to two cities, I decided her "Hello, Thedas, I'm a threat" message should be more... widespread. The players were asked to help Denerim (they have met Warden Commander Tabris, working with the Inquisitor), Arlathan (they are concerned about the Evanuris getting powerful artifacts), and Seere (northern port city in Rivain, base of op for Lords of Fortune, last holdout on the coast against the Antaam).
The party also knows that Minrathous is under attack, but Neve heard all the other cries for help, and because she and Lucanis were already in Minrathous, she told them that she understood and they would do their best.
However, they are not yet aware that Kirkwall, Treviso, Val Royeaux, Wycome, and Cumberland are also being attacked by blighted dragons. In the nine days (8 months real time) that have passed since the ritual, Ghilan'nain captured and blighted 8 dragons, organized the darkspawn, and she and Elgar'nan, henceforth known as Ghilly and Gary, swayed both the Venatori, Antaam, and some of the Dalish clans to their side.
Because they have not yet unlocked the eluvian for Rivain, and they found an ancient elven submarine-thing (the Dumat from the concept art) in the Ossuary, they have placed an eluvian in the submarine, and will use that to reach Rivain. One of the players, whose sister is Seer Rowan, is going immediately to the Dumat, while everyone else is going to Arlathan for a little while, just to secure the artifacts, before switching to Rivain when the Dumat arrives.
Outcomes
Arlathan: One of the players, a formal Tranquil mage who helped found the Veil Jumpers and is in charge of their archives, is planning on sacrificing himself to secure the artifacts in the Void. Yes that Void, which he has access to thanks to an artifact that redirects eluvians. Irelin will get blighted trying to keep the dragon from destroying the settlements in the area, and then Morrigan will successfully drive it off.
Seere: Once the DMPC Rook arrives with the dagger, the dragon will land and Ghilly will do her speech. The city will be slightly damaged, but they will be able to recover easily, and the Lords of Fortune will maintain control of the port, although they will now have to face more frequent attacks by the Antaam.
Denerim: So many people are going to die. Tabris will survive, as will Zevran, because I have plot things for them later. Inquisitor Lavellan (Rook's sister) will be blighted. Queen Anora and her husband, Arl Leonas of Denerim, Warden Constable Nathaniel Howe, and Wardens Alistair and Sigrun will die trying to evacuate everyone out of the city. (I have cried so many times after rolling that result.) Ferelden will then have a child king (Anora and Leonas's oldest).
Minrathous: Same thing as Veilguard. Literally the same, although they will still be able to interact with the Shadow Dragons (or what's left of them).
Kirkwall: Kirkwall gets overrun by darkspawn, and Warden Bethany Hawke, Ser Carver (because FUCK that ogre in particular), and Captain Aveline lead the evacuation to Starkhaven. The Free Marches lose their major port, which leads to higher tensions between the ones left standing, and a bunch of refugees in need of resources.
Wycome: You may ask, why Wycome? It's Rook's hometown, but also a major port city, a city in which humans and elves, both Dalish and city, have successfully (if not harmoniously) created a functioning government. It's also a major touchstone for the Agents of Fen'harel, who have simultaneously helped secure power for elven leaders there and sabotaged human leadership. When Wycome falls, the AoF crumble, and the example of elven-human cooperation fails.
Treviso: Pretty much the same as Veilguard. Crows get hobbled, blight spreads through the city. Antaam gain power.
Val Royeaux: Divine Victoria is forced to flee and her current whereabouts are unknown, thus weakening the Andrastian faith. Venatori (the Orlesian ones) stage a coup and kill Empress Celene, who still didn't have an heir, and take control of Orlais. Marquis Briala manages to escape and starts reconnecting the elven resistance, although she does not limit members to elves anymore, and no longer has access to the eluvians.
Cumberland: The College of Magi falls, as does their extensive library. Despite the same number of darkspawn that overran Denerim and Kirkwall, however, the Mortalitasi were able to defend the city with undead, and maintained control of the area.
The level of this campaign is daunting, and I'm doing my best to present the stakes to my players in ways that make them feel integrated and invested, while staying true to the spirit of canon as much as possible. Running this campaign and the following to its end is one of my life goals.
How do you think Kata and Omega would interact with each other? Like not accounting for time difference and whatnot. I think it’d be a cool detail for them to meet
