Hmm thinking about JttW characters as a Dungeon Meshi party, like maybe if they were tasked to retrieve scriptures in the dungeon. Sanzang would be a monk mage who casts healing with his staff, Wukong would be beastkin (human/macaque), Bajie would be... Another beastkin lol, and Sha Wujing would be an ogre. And as for side characters- idk I think Nezha and Erlang would make great elves.

Wukong would constantly dog on Bajie for depleting food supplies (Bajie would def be big into the eating dungeon monsters thing lol), and Wujing would just agree with Wukong. Sanzang would then get kidnapped in the meantime.

I was thinking it'd be a similar motive to JttW, where the trio has committed a bunch of crimes and HAVE to help the monk in order to atone. And of course the dungeon leaves so much room to add JttW monsters- I don't imagine they'd bring a horse into a dungeon, but maybe they'll fight Bailong along the way? But the monster potential is crazy ngl.
