I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.

He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense

Y'know I'm so glad someone reminded me of this. Because this was also discussed.

My stepmother did NOT like the way her Libertarian Viking Neighbor framed pregnancy as the fetus "attacking the woman". She incredulously told him this was extremely disrespectful to expectant mothers to portray pregnancy as so violent and negative.

Libertarian Viking Neighbor's response was that people consensually hurt each other all the time, and "there's like a whole community about that, with the acronym the one that starts with a B" And his reasoning was that if the mother was consenting to bring attacked by the baby, it in fact wasn't violent and negative because there was consent.

He brought up people consensually hurting each other, didn't go for one of the obvious answers like boxing or body mods or something, no he went STRAIGHT TO BDSM and he DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE ACRONYM

Being an Animorphs fan has made me so critical of the Phantom Thieves' opsec. What do you MEAN you're doing whole-group meetings in public that included a victim of your first target for the first incident and then added a victim of your second target for the second incident. What do you MEAN you're carrying the cat to school every day. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE OPENLY COMMUNICATING ABOUT YOUR CRIMES VIA TEXT MESSAGE.

The instant Mishima said he knew who you were, you should've denied everything and established some basic operational security. The fact that he's 100% sure he knows the phantom thieves means you've already fucked up badly enough to need to rethink your entire thing from scratch. It doesn't matter if you think you can trust him because other random people had the same information that he did. Every single part of your second heist was a massive misstep. These guys should've been forced to read a children's scifi series from the late 90s before they were ever allowed to have soul-twisting superpowers.

Also, on that note, trusting Mishima is a massive mistake. Guy has WAY too many personal issues tied up in this that he is NOT keeping control of at all and he told the internet that he knows the Phantom Thieves to impress girls. The second anybody thinks to take that website remotely seriously, they're tracking him down and getting your identities via some fast talking and a sob story. He is NOT clever enough to Remain Silent. He is NOT clever enough to notice he's being followed and that his phone is bugged. He thinks goths are evil because they wear too many belts, that guy is falling for the first thing a crying pretty girl tells him. I'd say he's the weak point but let's be honest, every single member is the weak point. Morgana is an exception only because he is incapable of speaking to non-members; even then, I don't trust him not to randomly lead some cops into Mementos by accident.

Also Ryuji is way too keen on being famous. Huge emotional weak point there. Recognition for the Phantom Thieves has two advantages: opening up Mementos, and increasing the likelihood that calling cards will materialise treasures. In every other way, fame is a massive risk; if it weren't for the need to exploit cognition in this way, you'd want to be invisible. Never trust someone who wants to be James Bond primarily so that he can brag to girls that he's James Bond.

These teenagers are out here acting like teenagers for some reason. Ridiculous.

The protagonist isn't any better. This guy is spending way too much time with school counsellors and prodigy teen detectives. "Know how I should fill in the time between my crimes? By debating my crimes with the renowned, successful Crime Finder Guy who is publicly and openly trying to track down the people doing my crimes." Stellar work.

Although tbh I'm having trouble believing everyone's apparent certainty that changing people's minds in the dream dimension even counts as a crime. Surely a good enough lawyer could peg this as minor harassment and a few counts of trespassing. Joker's got his probation thing but that'd be pretty helpful for the others.

Though since I apparently need to take down a mafia boss now, just our names being public knowledge would probably get us all murdered, so it probably doesn't matter. And the characters aren't even aware of the Sinister Headmaster yet (the Animorphs found their evil vice principal in book 1, catch up Phantom Thieves).
