need a hand?
My current big project! It's coming along so well it's all I can think about and this yarn is so squishy and the colors are so beautiful I genuinely want to eat this sweater like a blue gusher

[ID: an illustration of a variety of sewing supplies. there's a box with thread snips, floss bobbins, machine bobbins and buttons. beside that is packs of buttons. beneath that is a decorative scissors in a sheath. beside that is a small embroidery hoop full of flowers, more floss, packs of needles. end ID]
It's waterproof. It's windproof. It's lightweight and durable. And it's made from the intestines of two bears, painstakingly cleaned and sew
I really wanted to know more about this, especially how the water proof stitching works. Here's more information on this project, and hopefully more in the future!
This is amazing! I need to make a note to play around with that water proof stitch technology soon.
June Pardue has a video on YouTube demonstrating the waterproof stitch!
this messed up vintage cat sewing pattern has tormented me since i saw it & like some other folks have done in that post - i tried my hand at tweaking the pattern to resemble the illustration (and my personal tastes) a little more. i've ended up with this, which i have only tested at a small scale and not this final version exactly (where i have done such things as further widening the cheeks and finalizing the leg shapes.) i bestow it upon you nice folks now đ
go forth and make weird little beanbag kittens! pls show me if you do!
woah this got big!! and after another try i have another untested tweak for yall. this should help the weird pinchy side seams out. yey
My first attempt! I made the pattern a bit smaller as I wanted it to be able to fit in a pocket, but then (accidentally but perhaps unavoidably) sewed it with a wider seam allowance than the resized pattern indicated, so the face is proportionally a bit too big and I lost some detail in the ear shape. I'm pleased with it though! It was fun to make something and to do some handsewing.
SOO CUTE AND TINIE đ
I tried this pattern a while back to try out some minky and I get no points for making the pattern well but looook at my boyyy
His name is Tofu. Thank you for sharing the pattern I will love him forever

can you truly call yourself lesbian if you don't fw fat women ?
the world has been horrifying recently but i have personally witnessed something that brought me joy
Every year, Californiaâs largest sheep and fiber festival, Lambtown, takes place in Dixon, CA. On the second day of Lambtown, teams of eight compete in a âsheep to shawlâ competition, where the teams must start the day with un-spun wool and end the day with a 72â woven shawl. Teams may âwarpâ a loom ahead of time (where you thread the loom with its foundation of parallel threads), but on the day of competition they must spin their wool into yarn and weave it into a complete shawl.
This year competition was stiff, and very very close, and the winning team finished their shawl with two and a half minutes to spare.
I frequently hear about âneeding to keep âpoliticsâ out of fiber arts, but art is inherently political.
These were beautiful, masterfully spun, woven, and finished shawls and that in itself is worthy of note.
But watching this team of eight would fight for hours, and pour their love for their community into their art was deeply moving and I am still reveling in the opportunity to have seen this win.
There are few things to rejoice in today, but they do exist. The horrors may persist, but so do we.

lesbians will text u the most insane string of words
btw Iâve found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:
Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!
especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but itâs really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)
Also good for artists drawing with pencils/on a tablet/with a pen!
Also good for writers
Make art, take care!
This is wonderful advice. I once spun the yarn and knitted a hat for my grandfather. That week, my chiropractor said to me that he had never seen me so tense. So I gave up knitting. I do still spin, and I would like to recommend that if you donât want knee problems from spinning, buy yourself a double treadle wheel. Completely worth it.
