i did fear that they might speedrun thru alys and aemonds relationship cuz they just dont have the time to get in to it, so they just went with the easiest choices just to get them there. explains the cheesy wat pad tropes
i do HOPE we still get something a bit more juicer considering aemond is seemingly a lot more lucid next ep which might result in some clashing between him and alys.
but yeah so far kinda bland (loving the visuals tho)

They already proved that Alys can scare people away of her own accord with her magical bat explosion trick.
Perhaps that attack was a manipulation tactic? In the scene prior to that Aemond had been giving the “woe is me, I’m nothing without my dragon”, so perhaps Alys played the part of damsel in distress so that he could feel useful?
Perhaps I am giving credit where none is due, and it likely was just terrible tropey writing, but at least we got to see him breasting boobily around Mickey Mouse’s castle of illusions, so it’s not all bad.

The thing is that sex scenes actually are incredible ways to explore character. People are at their most vulnerable during sex! The way they have sex says a lot of very interesting things about their desires, obviously, but also their psychology, their vulnerabilities, their hopes and fears, etc. It is completely insane to me to think that sex scenes have no value other than to sexually excite the audience. And even if their only value is to sexual excite the audience - SO WHAT?? A movie is supposed to excite and entertain you! Grow up!!!
Collect small astonishments. The first tomato of summer. A dog dreaming in its sleep. Someone laughing before they finish the joke. The moon arriving before the sun has quite departed. We keep waiting for life to announce itself with trumpets, but it has always preferred quieter instruments.
Shoutout to characters that are both genuinely deeply kind and also genuinely terrifying and willing to spill buckets worth of blood to get something done. And neither of these are an act, they're just both very true.

already can't pretend to care about the male loneliness epidemic because it isn't real but listening to the way men actually talk about their friends/what they think friendship entails makes me care even less sorry
read an AITA earlier today about a guy who would walk his female friend home to her dorm very often UNTIL she rejected his romantic advances*, then when she asks him to walk her home bc she's drunk and feels unsafe he says no. Men in the comments were clamoring to insist he "didn't owe her anything" and that she was a deceptive harpy who wanted to use her #femaleprivilege to get "special treatment"
and idkkkkkkk that could never be me sorry!! wym you don't care about your friends safety and are willing to mildly inconvenience yourself to ensure they are okay? no compassion or care for the people in your life but its an "epidemic" when you don't have friends? lol

I love the whole 30 is the new 21 trend like yes queen so true. Your 30s are not for having children and settling down. They are for traveling, building your career, and going to the CLUB. Freeze ur eggs if u must I don’t care. Any 30 something year old woman who’s choosing to enjoy her newfound financial stability and not spend it in an unhappy marriage has my wholehearted stamp of approval.
I think I am officially Fandom Old. I am so worn out from the arguments on who's the top or the bottom (who cares), what is allowed to be written (anything you want, bejeebus), what is Problematic (I know, just tag it), what other people Should Do (they Should live their lives free of judgment). There isn't a Right Way to do things. Tag your stuff appropriately, don't read stuff you don't want to read, and leave other people (me) alone.
