From Russia with love!

Well I recently did a rather epic trip to Russia to visit the Russian Rail Masters kiteboarding contest. Not knowing what to expect or anything about the place... I turned up with the other UK boys and we hit the event. What an amazing experience and cool place, easily one of the best destinations that I have been for kiting in a park. Some epic features, just like cable!

We topped the podium, Aaron coming 1st, Sam coming 2nd and Myself taking 3rd... to be ended with a party... Russian style!! Good times, here is the clip.

One of my latest video project was from a trip to Greece. Beeing out there to test some of the new North products and work on the Gambler board, I desired to make a clip featuring the Kite Launcher's (a character of mine) new 'dial a launch' idea. However, this was really just a magic trip of sun, sea, wind and everything else that goes hand in hand ohhhh so naturally with kiteboarding...

Check out this road trip we did to test out GYBE designs new Bus tent. We drove 1800 miles in four days and hit everything europe had to offer for the weekend. What an awesome tent! Other sports...

Although I kite board mostly, I also do pretty much every other extreme or interesting sport that there is. Over the next few years I intent to collect a series of clips from everything I do...

Big Views... As part of the #freerideproject movie in 2011 I went to the Dominican Republic with 5 times world champ and good friend of mine Aaron Hadlow. We rode, partied and filmed out there for a month and got done what we needed to do. This is the web cut and teaser that I put together from the trip... With some local dominican hip hop ;)

Old School Flava...

Traveling to Explore...

Traveling for a sport often takes you to some crazy places, its not like ordinary tourism because you are there to actually do something. This means that the location to which you take your holidays will be influence not just by the sun lounger and the size of the pool but, instead by the wind constancy, the flatness of the water and the empty space in which to play. This is exactly why I traveled to Sri Lanka, invited out by my friend Fabio to check out his kite school situated on the edge of the Kalpitya lagoon on the west coast of Sri Lanka.

Seeing new Countries, cultures, ways of life and meeting new people is a big part of a trip. This is what makes kiteboarding special to me, it ability to bring life and industry to those places that would otherwise fly off the tourist radar and get over looked.

Getting Corporate...

Ripslix Productions isnt just a production company that produces kiteboarding web videos. I also do a lot of freelance work and put lifestyle and sporting marketing campaigns together for brands. Here, I teamed up with the guys from GYBE design to produce a video that revolves around one of their new products the Volkswagen T5 tent.

Now what makes this tent special is that its design inspiration and inflatable structure has completely come from kite design. This easy to use inflatable tent, packs down into a back pack and will double the floor space of your T5 when out camping or at the beach...

How far to take a joke?

The Kite Launcher is a character that me and a friend have been working on for some time now. This is the 5th episode of his worldly antics that Ripslix has cut. The idea behind his character, he simply launches kites! Indeed, he is incredibly successful at it too, fast becoming more high profile that most international riders, is this phenomenon just in his mind, or is it really happening...

Some trips are just too good to be true, and this trip was one of those trips. I have spent alot of time on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands in my time as a Kiteboarder. The island has been responsible for me learning to kite, surf, spear fish and spending so much time driving a Panda around out there has left me knowing that no body likes a dirty car...

Although I cant be on the water all the time, when I get a chance I like to play around with different editing techniques and this is a short animated kiteboarding I made in my front room staring a lego man kite launcher...
