The parallax camera move from "The Kid from 3030" - Not only was this the most technically challenging shot of my career but it was the first thing I boarded on #Craigofthecreek. Hope Deltron approves!

Storyboards: “The Kid from 3030″ Hope everybody enjoyed Craig of the Creek tonight! Here are a few of my favorite boards I drew from “The Kid from 3030″ - written and storyboarded by Najja Porter and Dashawn Mahone. (More below!)

The episode concept was pitched to me on my first day on CotC and my eyes popped out of my skull!! Like every kid artist in the early 2000s, I had been listening to Deltron3030 since the music video for “Clint Eastwood” dropped.  One of the best parts about my job as a revisionist is when I’m given the bones of a scene plus the time and permission to get carried away with it. When I sat down to work I was given only one instruction: Make it look cool! 

It really helps to have audio to draw along to and of course Del the Funky Homosapien and Dan the Automator delivered! As you can probably tell, some of Deltron's bobs and gestures never made it to the final animation, which is just something you have to roll with sometimes in storyboarding. This was by far the most technically challenging scene of my career going in. By the time I turned this in I felt like I had really leveled up my boarding skills! Shout-outs to the legendary storyboard team Dashawn and Najja for creating this monster. It's been a dream come true to have been a part of it!

Where does the time go? Since April 2017 I started working at a studio! I want to try and post more often, though I’m short on time nowadays when it comes to making personal work. That aside, I’m beyond stoked to share what we’ve been up to!
