This is a school exercise we did in Gobelins. It was a character design exercise where we were supposed to design a character based on a characteristic that we were given. For me it was ‘Cute/Tender’ and then once designed we modeled, rigged, skinned this character and then made a small animation based on the theme of ‘separation’ I hope you guys like it. This was co-directed/produced/animated by my team-mates  DIEGO PORRAL and  jollyjoules

A couple of months back, as I was travelling, I saw an interesting person and had done a sketch, if you see the rough sketches, I had posted them back at the time.. but I wasn’t sure how to go about it and which direction to take the character in..  Finally yesterday I decided to work on it more.. and here is a small exploration of the character.. but as you can see, I am not making him a ‘good’ positive character..  Hope you guys enjoy..

I tried to be as fast as possible as I m only working on my spare time, story is more important than perfect drawing to me.

this chapter is about a new flash beack between the two main characters, spedning during Russian Japanese 1905 war who started the Russian social Revolution.

This was an illustration I did for Gobezine 2018, magazine for Gobelins. The theme was cult film and so I chose Akira. The film is obviously excellent and is one of the classics. :)  I love the relationship between Kaneda and Tetsuo and where it all starts right in their childhood.

This was the story-boarding exercise we did at Gobelins. This was really fun, learnt a lot, got to explore many ideas, and play with the characters. This was a sample script of Steven universe on which we were supposed to create the board. This is a clip from the 6 minute animatic that was made during the exercise.

The class was mentored by extremely talented Christelle Abgrall.

This is again one of the sketches from metro in Paris, and further just sketched out few of his expressions. I wasn’t sure in which direction to take this guy, as you can see here. Just a small little study..

This is a short that most of us worked on at Gobelins for Cartoon network. I couldn’t work on animation at the time but I did the clean-up of a shot where one of the them turns to read the book and the other one pulls the sword out and then pulls him.   The shot was animated by extremely talented @teenytinytena. Make sure to check her work and also check @gobelinscaaf19

This was a layout exercise at Gobelins. The class was taken by Eddine Noël, a brilliant teacher and his work can be seen in ‘Tout en haut du monde (Long Way North)’ 

Learnt lot of new things about being a layout artist and his/her responsibilities. Lot of it, I had thought was done during storyboard stage of the film but it is not always so :P 

It’s a story about a boy who lost his father in the war. His father used to be a pilot, and he’s out to buy the same flight goggles which his father used to wear from an accessories shop...

This is background exercise that we did in Gobelins, where we were given a layout and were supposed to paint two different moods. We were free to choose the style. So this is.. bear with it as I painted landscapes for the first time..

While on the way to school I saw an old guy in the metro. He was sitting alone and sad. He didn’t bother to look at who was getting in and out of the metro and lost in his own thoughts. I couldn’t draw him at the time but I did something after coming home.. An old guy.. a father.. trying to cope up with his life.. he has lost his wife and maybe he is not so much in touch with his son or daughter..

I have been trying to draw according to inktober themes but it’s just not happening.. my ideas aren’t clear yet and there’s something missing.. this is when I arrived in Paris..
