Me
Call Me Maybe, with a full orchestra and classical choir.
It starts out as a very solem joke, and then it becomes bright and beautiful and joyful.
GUYS ITāS A BOP
i love this! i feel like whoever arranged it understood why the song is so well loved, and really captured that hopeful, giddy thrill of infatuation. such a bright thing. this is going in my happy spam tag for cheering me up on rainy days.
itsĀ āthighs rubbing together under ya sundressā season
Buy cute, cheap lace leggings. Cut them a little above your knee. Hem them or donāt, but then you can wear them under your sundresses and not worry about how you sit or if your thighs chafe, and if anyone sees them they look cute af so hell yes
Or a little deodorant between the thighs is magical
Also, LUSH sells this dust called Silky Underwear that makes your skin smooth so they donāt stick together or chafe.
I love that weāre all here for each other in this season of need
Monistat has an anti-chafing gel that works wonders and I live by. You can usually find it in the feminine care aisle of any drugstore.Ā
Thereās this stuff called Glideā¦pretty cheap & works hella miracles
Iām so ready for sundress season.Ā

Feminists with loving dads growing up exist: I am proof. My parents have been married for 24 years (including dating, theyāve been together for 32 years and were high school sweethearts). I came from a happy home. Stop trying to make feminists seem broken.
Rebuking if you're a feminist with a loving and caring father. My dad is the best, he has always supported me and never tried to push gender roles on me except the few times he told me to cross my legs while wearing a skirt (which, ya know, fair) He supported me when I came out, welcomed my partner into our home and took the time to learn about her and bond with her as a person, supported me emotionally and financially through college even when he worried about the practicality of my major, never placed my brother as more important than me because of his gender, issues my preferred pronouns, educated himself on my religion rather than getting frustrated that it wasn't the same as his and respected me when I told him that some of what he researched wasn't accurate to my path, and was all in all a stand up guy. He has his moments where he needs to check his privilege, but over all he is a good man and a good father.

heres a cool idea: what if in 2017 tumblr commie kids gave up the creepy romanticization of the soviet union thing in favor of the aesthetics of american labor historyāthe haymarket riot, the pullman strike, the great railroad strike, emma goldman & yiddish socialism, woody guthrie, pete seeger, paul robeson, the iww and the 1912 textile workersā strike, the ladiesā garment workersā union, wpa murals, the american communist party, bread and roses, the union maid. thatās the Good Shit if yr looking for historical leftist culture imo
Seriously tho, kids.Ā
The USSR was a blood-soaked mess. A racist, anti-semitic, sexist blood-soaked mess at that. Do not repeat the sins of the Left of the 60s/etc by ignoring that. (Same goes for Maoist China, etc.) To ignore that is to literally piss on a truly appalling number of graves As an allegory, Animal Farmās inaccuracies were that itās not grim and horrific enough. The most conservative and hesitant andĀ āwell we donāt want to be hysterical about thisā count of Stalinās death toll,Ā notĀ including famine-victims, is 4 million; the one which, after various amounts of research, I find most convincing is about 20 million. Maoās Great Leap Forward killed anywhere from 18 to 50 million, and we have literal footage of Tienamen, guys.Ā
This is not the good example you are looking for. Do not romanticise them.Ā
100% go back, as OP says, to the things that actually had good resultsĀ (like a 40 hour work-week and basic human workerās rights and shite) and did not do them over mountains of corpses. We have lots! They even included (gosh!) women! and queers! and people of colour/different ethnicities! They do all the things you want.Ā
These are your models. Not those bloody handed bastards over there.Ā
honestly, now is more important than ever to remember the historical contributions that the working class has made for social movements, given how much the media have taken to blaming them for the rise of fascism.Ā
From Trump to Brexit, the narrative being spun has been that of āthe working class were too poor and too dumb to know betterā and how both Brexit and Trump spoke for them or to them, even though a majority of that demographic are non-white/immigrant/minorities who are severely affected by the political outcome. Itās a false narrative and it is both classist and racist and erases the fact that labour rights and workerās rights and social rights in West Europe and Americas have come from and were heavily supported by the socialist left and working classes.Ā
Just to start off, I was reading the other day aboutĀ The 1936 Battle of Cable Street,Ā which was a stand organised by the local working class comprising of Jewish locals, the Irish locals, Labour and Communist party membersĀ in a demonstrationĀ against a Nazi march that lead to confrontation with the police (Discworld fans, read the fuck up about this because you will find a lot of what Pratchett was referencing in Night Watch).Ā
Iām sure thereās probably a lot more examples, and what OP mentioned definitely deserves more historical context and background. But the fact is that those historical contexts are either forgotten or ignored by the tumblr social justice commie kids scene because clueless privileged teenagers are more willing to worship dead genocidal dictators for cheap aesthetics than do actual fucking research.Ā
Thereās a difference between celebrating bloody totalitarian regimes and celebrating actual socialist and leftist movements that had a positive outcome, in all their complexities, struggles and conflicts. And that difference means research and looking at the contexts of historical and social political landscapes of the time, the sum of which unfortunately canāt be reduced to sickle-and-hammer on a pastel colour palette. it makes me so uncomfortable when i see europeans acting all high and mighty about whatās happening in the usa right now as if we arenāt experiencing a terrifying far right revival as well??? as far as i know, every european country from ireland to france to germany and italy have neo nazi parties or organisations who are growing in numbers and popularity and it is incredibly irresponsible for us to act like that isnāt the case just so we can seem better than america. it needs to stop here and it needs to stop there and it needs to stop now
Celebrate the facts. Happy Black History Month!Ā

Yes, Romania is beautiful, but we canāt post images of our great castles or our breathtaking nature at this moment. Everything is in danger right now. The government of the PSD (the neo-communists) made corruption legal. Itās true, itās great, would Trump say. But weāve had our share of corruption. Weāre done. We want transparency. We want to be a modern country. But now, those politicians want to legalize corruption and of course they are the ones who wonāt end up in jail because of this new law. They steal our money and our lives.Ā We, the people, canāt do anything about it, except this: protest and share our message with the world. We only want to live in this beautiful country with breathtaking nature and great cultural places, but without those corrupt and arrogant politicians.Ā Please help us, and share. And Romanians: protest!
so somebody wanted to know what does the woman on the background says. Well, here you are, enjoy)
Womans voice offscreen: Stepa, how much toys do you have! Stepa, you are so generous! You give me this teddy bear? Stepa! Do you not regret giving it? Your favorite toy? Stepa! Good boy, give it to me. Good boy, youāre so smart, so smart. Give it to me please, give it, Stepa [takes the toy] thank you, oh thank you, oh thank you Stepa, and of course⦠[Stepa starts to wave his paws] Yes, of course, you are the most kind bear. [Camera zooms on other toys] And what else do you have where, is there anything else Stepa? Stepochka, where is another teddy bear, Stepa? Where is another teddy bear? Stepochka, give me another teddy bear
Reblogging this version for the translation! I also wanted to say since I saw a lot of people concerned about it in the comments that I did some research and it seems that Stepa lost his teeth naturally and did not have them pulled out by his owners. For one thing when they rescued him he was so sick that his teeth were apparently black and in horrible shape, and for another thing he is very old, at least 23 years while bears only live to be 25 (source here). His family has also said in multiple interviews that he has never bitten them and I donāt think they would bring that up if he never had any teeth to begin with (example here [bonus: this interview includes cute pictures of him playing with his family]). If you google image search āStepan the bearā you can even find some older pictures of him from before all of his teeth fell out. Just thought Iād let everyone know so we can all enjoy these cute videos without worrying that that heās been mistreated!
