A Week in D.C.💐🤍

Washington, D.C. ❄️🤍
2025
Capitol Hill Girlie ❤️🤍💙
Words can't describe how much I love D.C. I've been interning and living here for nearly 6 months and I don't have any way to truly express how life-changing it has been. Working on Capitol Hill has been one of the most exciting and motivating things I have ever done.
I officially have my M.A. (at 21!!!) and I'm working my dream job. I remember my flight into D.C. like it was yesterday. I felt so nervous and scared. I was moving out of my hometown and away from an incredibly abusive relationship. I guess I had someone watching out for me because I saw a rainbow peaking out of the clouds right before my plane landed.
I feel like I've lived here for years. I've met the nicest people here and I've done things I never thought I'd ever get to do.
If you need a sign to just do that thing you've been putting off, this is it. Go to grad school. Move to your dream city. Take that vacation. Leave that relationship. Start your dream job. It's worth it.
DC -Bound & Post-Grad Anxiety ✈️💙
I did it! Another 4.0 semester!!! I also successfully secured an internship for D.C. this summer and presented my master's thesis!
I'm so excited! It sucks that I can't fully enjoy all of it because now I have to worry about securing a post-grad job and finding housing after my intern housing ends. But I'm determined to stay in DC after graduation! There's no other city in the world I'd rather live in. I already put in 20 applications for a job post-graduation and I'm hoping for the best. I actually had an interview offer for one job a few days ago but I turned it down because I knew I wouldn't be happy there.
My life is changing in the most exciting and devastating ways. I'm moving to the city I've always wanted to live in, I'm about to get my M.A., and I'm eating clean for the first time in my life! However, I'm also leaving my family and I'm going through a breakup with a long-term boyfriend. It feels like everything is coming at me at once but I know it will be okay.
Sunny Days, Finals, & Conferences 🫐🌻🌞
Manifesting a summer internship soon! I have two more conferences this semester and then I leave for DC! I'm trying to get all my final papers out of the way so I can have a full week to rehearse my presentation for my master's thesis.
Loving the weather lately. It's getting super sunny and now I'm getting sad to move out of the countryside.

Not really aesthetic, but it sure is realistic.
I honestly adore this part of the semester. The calm right before the storm that is finals week. I have about 4 weeks until this semester is over and I'm sad but also excited for this summer. I haven't secured an internship for my fellowship yet, but I have a feeling something good is about to happen!
I have two (maybe three) research conferences coming up, an internship to secure, 3 final papers to write, and LSAT studying to do but I'm thriving!
Took me until about halfway through college before I realized “study” means “play with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it” and not just “read the assigned chapters and do the homework” and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.

Today I read from my book, worked a shift at work, and prepared for my classes for this semester. I didn't get much exercise, but I ate pretty healthy.

I've been very busy lately. I haven't posted much but I've been working at my jobs and preparing for this upcoming semester. Lots of personal things going on too and we've had some really bad weather where I live. I have been slipping a bit on my workouts and such, but I've been walking with my dogs a lot.
Today I am finishing up a few essays and some paperwork for my Washington, D.C. internship, I attended a zoom meeting on the internship, and I'm going to start working on my online class.

10 tips for casual elegance ⋆。𖦹 °✩
Reading. Reading. Reading. Being well-read is so valuable!! Get cosy, pick up a Jane Austen, Emily Brontë, or maybe a Charles Dickens and spend some of your free time indulging in literature. <3
Soft-spoken and kind expressions. No one likes being around rude people. Being a bitch doesn’t make you look confident. Instead, be kind, make conversation, pay attention, engage, etc… trust me.
Dainty jewellery. Find some high-quality signature pieces.
Think before you speak. Take a moment to reflect on your thoughts so you can speak confidently and with intent without stumbling over your words!! <3
Quality over quantity. Stop buying large amounts of cheap clothing; instead, save up and invest in higher-quality pieces that will actually last you. :)
Practice your handwriting. Having pretty and neat handwriting is a lovely little detail; extra points if you write in cursive. ;)
Drop the tiktok slag. “sticking out your gyat for the rizzler”… just stop, please.
Keep to yourself. Small circle, no bragging, gossips only with the closest, keep your plans to yourself.
Watch your posture. Straighten that back, honey. I see you. :))
Manicured nails. I do mine every two weeks. Almond-shaped, always dark red. <3
As always, Please feel free to add your own suggestions and tips in the comments!! ♡ ₊ ⊹

I started the day with a small cream cheese, avocado, and turkey bagel and a banana. For lunch I had a bowl of lima beans, a beef patty, a little avocado and mozzarella (it looks awful, but it was actually really good). For dinner I'm having a bowl on lentil soup and another cup of tea and some fruit.
For my work out I used these videos and went on a 30-minute walk.

For productivity I am working a shift at my part-time job and reading a few chapters from my book.
Health and Wellness ☕🍊\ 01/07/2024
I started the day off with a nice hot chai tea latte with coconut cold foam and 2 chocolate rice cakes with peanut butter and banana slices. For lunch I had a bowl of homemade chicken alfredo (made by my lovely bf). Since I had a heavy lunch, I'm eating a light dinner made of a cup of chamomile tea (my last bag😭) and a turkey and avocado bagel and maybe some fruit later. I'm not really focused on calories at this point in my health journey. It's more about balance for me at this point. If I eat a big bowl of pasta for lunch, I have to eat something healthy for dinner. If I snack on a cookie, the next time I want to snack I grab some fruit. I've been doing this consistently for a few weeks and I've noticed that I feel a lot better.
I didn't do Pilates today, but I did start the day this yoga video and I played with my dogs for about an hour by our lake.
Honestly, I wasn't that productive today. However, I did work a small shift at my job and spent most of the day playing with my dogs, running errands, and watching Gilmore Girls, so it wasn't wasted. I think I'm going to end the day with some light reading and make an LSAT study plan.
