REST IN POWER DIAMOND “Mable” SANCHEZ-McCRAY <3
I haven’t seen anyone on here talk about her murder but maybe that’s because I don’t follow a lot of people. Regardless, I just don’t want her death to be erased or forgotten. There’s of course nothing that can be said to quantify the weight and gravity of her loss and I’m praying for her beloved family and friends.
Sanchez-McCray, a title holder in many pageants, was 42.
This immediately being labeled mature I actually hate this fucking website ?!?
the trans bill has been passed in the lower house of the parliament. it still needs to be approved by the upper house. if you're an indian then mail your mp now to show your disapproval! if you're not an indian then share this post
it's currently being discussed in the rajya sabha
sansad tv 2 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WDwbYPeBwQ]
wanted to bring people's attention to the new anti trans bill that's been proposed in India. This bill literally erases our identity and our autonomy so it would help if more people were aware of what is happening to us in this country
^Community-led Mobilisation to Reject Trans Bill 2026. Please look into it.
Collective Statement on Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill 2026. Note: Translations of this statement in multiple I
Maybe I should've been more assertive making this post but
THE RIGHTS OF INDIAN TRANS PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET TAKEN AWAY IN JUST A FEW DAYS. I THINK ITS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR EVERYONE TO AT LEAST CARE.
I know I was being vague in the original post, and i apologise, genuinely. But to specify, this bill takes away our rights for self identification. Our identity will no longer be in our hands, no longer ours to determine, no longer our own but for medical institutions to determine. It's plain erasure.
Our lives are miserable enough as is in this country so it literally takes nothing for the 90% white userbase of this site to sign a petition or spread awareness. That's all that it takes from your side.
Fellow indian trans people or allies can use this this link to email your member of Parliament about the Trans Bill, made by members of the Queer Against the Trans Bill Collective.

I made this piece as part of a fundraiser for aid for Lebanon. If you are on Instagram, please check out @/cosmikjest for details!
I am willing myself to not be longwinded, but on the first of this year I made a friend from Lebanon. Hearing stories of the land, people, and family have been so so important. The sense of community and movement that has been emerging this year has been everything to me. I am grateful for my friends. I am grateful be there to share the burden of grief. I am happy so many people can come together for this cause. Find each other, love each other, take care of each other.
Eid Mubarak.
Here's some details on the fundraiser. There are six groups total you can put your bid in for. I didn't include photos of all of them but please please please check out the Instagram post to see some of the amazing art you can win!
please consider writing to Prarieland defendants Autumn Hill and Meagan Morris, they are both trans lesbians incarcerated in men's prisons for protesting an ICE facility
prosecution established affiliation by way of defendants having fucking anarchist zines, the kind of shit you see in a punk house. this is what they want and are willing to pursue for all of us who aren't willing to lay down and die, imprisonment and torture and the absolute stripping of our dignity (the govt gleefully included their deadnames in a press release yesterday; Morris' public defender has consistently deadnamed and misgendered her despite her legal name change)
there is no one who will protect us except us, and if our sisters are lost to us and forgotten as soon as they are grabbed by the prison system (ie if the system is allowed to work as intended) then we are failing, and we are woefully unprepared for a world where they start taking more of us
Autumn is a loving wife and is interested in religious history and mythology. Write to her at FMC Fort Worth.
Meagan Elizabeth Morris is loved by her wife housemates, and dogs. Her name was legally changed in 2007, but the federal complaint used her
KIA ORA CREW!!!! they're building a five billion dollar AI data centre of absolutely colossal size in waihōpai/invercargill.
if you don't want this to happen, it's VERY QUICK to sign this petition which will eventually be sent to parliament! you don't have to be from aotearoa to sign.
no community should have to face the consequences of an AI data centre of this size. the cost is also heinous. this money could go towards so many causes. it would mean the world if you could give this a quick boost by sharing or taking 15 seconds to sign the petition!
If the radio I heard about this on is correct, this Data centre would take as much energy to run annually as the entirety of Wellington City (the capital city for those unaware) all of this during a fuel crisis. None of us asked for this
great! great! great! wow! great! yay!
Not to mention that the groundwater throughout most of Southland - that the data centre will be drawing on for cooling - has extensive nitrate pollution from decades of intense dairy farming.
The same conditions as in Oregon USA, which is rather in the spotlight right now as the data centres there using nitrate-polluted groundwater for cooling have intensified that pollution so much that it's causing cancer and miscarriages.
There's a good chance that on top of being an immense waste of power and decimating the surrounding environment, it's going to kill people
hot take i think that a website being able to ban users for "no reason at all" is a very bad thing, all websites should be able to prove that a user has broken their guidelines or terms of service in order to ban them
users who get banned should be told WHY they're banned and given an opportunity to talk to a person when appealing their ban, automated "nah ur still banned" replies shouldn't be allowed on any website.
a user broke a guideline? which ones? and which post/reply/message/ask broke them?
a post is mass reported? sure thing a temporary auto ban is fine BUT ONLY IF A HUMAN REVIEWER THEN LOOKS AT IT.
a post is reported, flagged, appealed, and has the flag removed? that post should no longer be able to have that flag re-applied. because a human looked at it and decided it was fine.
a user submits multiple reports that all turn out to be false? ban that user for abusing the reporting system.
all of this seems so simple but it's just ?? not happening
The accidental bans have been reversed.

Tumblr got caught and is trying to save face. Every blog that was removed except one is a trans woman. Don't let them lie to you.
If your automated moderation keeps making the same error over and over again and bans a bunch of trans women every six months or so then it's not an error it's a feature of the software. Even if we do believe it's unintentional (not a guarantee given the history of transphobia from flesh and blood moderators and the site owner) then it would still only be an error the first time. It KEEPS HAPPENING to the exact same minority group. If my car brakes don't work, the sixth kid I run over is not an 'error', it's unbelievable negligence.
the purpose of a system is what it does
For those who don't remember, here's the lawsuit two years ago where Tumblr (or specifically Automattic) settled with the New York City Commission on Human Rights regarding Tumblr's terribly implemented porn ban targeting LGBTQ folk more than it should. Here's an excerpt detailing what the NYCCHR ordered Tumblr to do:
The settlement gives Tumblr 180 days to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide related training to moderators. It must also hire someone with experience in this area as well as expertise in image classification, who will review Tumblr’s moderation algorithms to see if they’re more likely to flag LGBTQ content. As part of an overall review, Tumblr will reexamine 3,000 old cases where a user successfully appealed a takedown, looking for patterns that could indicate bias.
Now, on a totally unrelated note, here's the complaint page for reporting discrimination to the NYCCHR. Completely unrelated to what's going on right now or the rest of this post, I swear.
tumblr userbase is going to become unconscionably insufferable in response to this taste of power I suspect. don't let it go to your heads.
Lots of talk about "bullying wins" and little talk about power and the flow of capital, which is what matters to the corporate bigheads who approve these things. imo a few things were at play here to make them rescind this.
- It was buggy. Tags not showing up for an OP past even an empty reblog did not appear to be intended (or at least, it was not mentioned in the announcement), and is a MAJOR problem. Specifically, it undoes the major update from around 5 years ago which was heavily praised by the userbase (one of few tumblr updates to actually be widely well recieved) which allowed a poster to see tags in their activity feed. If this was the only problem, they could have launched a bug fix. Same goes for not being able to turn off reblogs.
- Userbase unity? Well, maybe. Specifically - the userbase had a swift, harsh, and overbearing response to this update. Most of the complaints were the same: this will exacerbate harassment, this will disrupt the flow of communication, this will make it impossible for someone to maintain their posts. Big names in the tumblr ecosystem came down hard, fast, and with significant concern: if this stays in place, I will have to leave - this place will not do what I need it to do. Much of the userbase said the same, sharing alternate blog hosting sites and doing the thing we always do when this ship looks like sinking. Additionally, their replies and feedback forms were obviously being flooded. This put real pressure on their workers in the office, which puts financial pressure on the company. I think the most disrupting tactic though, was going offsite. I checked out their instagram and twitter comments; they were flooded. This is something we Don't Usually Do when we're just whining about the newest change. Usually we stay here to complain but we make do with the change. This, I think, is the thing that signified people weren't just whining but were actually for real pissed. And then of course...
- Five hours before the roll-back announcement, an article drops. That kind of bad press is the nail in the coffin for a dying company like tumblr. I imagine several concerned meetings somewhere in those five hours.
What do we learn? The answer is not "bullying works" and "swearing at customer service reps is fun". The answer is to remember that online, we are both the product and the thing that creates the value (similar to but obviously distinct from the actual workers of a corporation; if we vanished overnight they'd have nothing). Brush up on your collective bargaining & try to understand why this happened in this way. And don't try to replicate this for every random update that comes next by endlessly harassing them. Take stock of the little power you have and work out where to put it to use. This is still just tumblr.
Help a disabled Brazilian trans woman and her family
As some of you know, we aren't in the best financial condition right now. A few days ago, our house faced some electricity issues due to the ancient wiring which we had to pay to fix out of our own pockets (because God forbid our landlord help with anything), and yesterday one of our elderly dogs (pictured above) had a seizure and had to go back to her medication. It is also the first week of the month, which means bills to pay and meds to buy (which I have just ran out of today), as well as food, but because of the stuff that happened lately, I'm not going to be able to do so without help.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.

I need 200 reais as soon as possible because I used the money to pay for the water bill but didn't realize I had another urgent debt 🙃
The Oregon data center situation is a really good example of how anti-ai sentiment on this website has such a totality over the average users mind that they don't understand articles put in front of them. People on this website will refuse to understand actual situations that are happening because they want to be more mad at AI.
Amazon data centers constructed in eastern Oregon's farmland have worsened a water pollution problem that’s been linked to cancer and miscar
The article again for people who missed it but to summarize the issue
>a rapid boom of agriculture in an otherwise arid and less than optimally fertile region has resulted in a ton of water pollution from the fertilizers necessary to keep the agricultural industry there profitable
>the people in charge of cleaning the water struck a deal with the agricultural farms that they would provide polluted water for them to spray over their crops as a way to cut down on fertilizer costs
>this polluted water then re-enters the water table, and this is particularly drastic for winter spraying where there is no crops to absorb the extra nitrates
>the reservoir and water tables at this point are so intensely polluted that there isn't clean water left
>enter Amazon
>amazon uses water to cool off their data centers
>normally this would not be a problem. data centers do not "pollute" the water they intake
>however, since hot water tends to evaporate somewhat, this results in any pollutants already in the water to become more concentrated
>because the water table is already so polluted, Amazon can't source clean water and must use nitrate polluted water for their data centers
>this causes a discharge of more nitrate concentrated water which is putting additional stress on the waste water systems and requiring more spraying
>data centers are not causing the problems but are exacerbating it
>these data centers have been in the area for over a decade, because data centers are used for more than AI
>the presence in agriculture, the data centers, and the waste water solution were all orchestrated by about five to seven members of government all working together to make as much money as possible in a bunch of nakedly corrupt moves
>this includes the waste water treatment body blackmailing the state government to let them continue to do winter sprays or they'll dump their nitrate polluted water into the water system
>all the while this has resulted in a bunch of health complications such as cancers and miscarriages
>the people trying to expose this are being targeted both by government and by under the table actors
>the whole situation is fucked and the state government isn't moving to actualyl fix it
This is a very complicated situation. Here is what the average tumblr users knows about it
>AI data centers cause cancer
do you see? do you see why this pisses me off? do you see why I said that I think anti-AI sentiment is going in the wrong place? Stopping AI will not stop this situation or make it better.

Tell your Idaho senators, city council members, and mayor to stop HB 557, which would block cities from banning LGBTQ+ discrimination.
this is coming right on the heels of Idaho attempting to ban pride flags from being flow btw
My mother may be living the last hours of her life. The doctors told me with brutal clarity, If this surgery is not done immediately… she will die.
Not a possibility, Not a guess, A certainty waiting to happen.
The worst feeling a human being can experience is watching their mother move closer to death…while knowing her treatment exists.
But helplessness…poverty…and people’s silence…stand between her and life.
I was never a beggar…
I am pharmacist Nassif Dahdouh. I spent my life studying and working to build a pharmacy that would provide for me and four families…
And today, the war has destroyed everything. All my hard work, every dream, everything I loved has turned to ashes in my hands.
I feel like the whole world has let me down… All the people I considered my support are gone…
I'm not asking for mercy, nor empty sympathy…
I'm asking for a chance to rebuild my life, to regain my dignity, to restore the destroyed pharmacy, and to provide for four families.
So far, the fundraising campaign has only raised 435 euros… A small amount compared to the magnitude of the loss, but it's the only hope I have left. I am not a beggar…
I am a human being who has been deprived of everything, and I will not forgive anyone for the betrayal I have felt ... 💔❤️🩹
But if you stand by me, if you help me, I can come back and prove that life isn't over, that the pharmacy can be revived, and that four families can regain their livelihood.
Your help is not charity…
It is a chance to save a life, a chance to stop the feeling of betrayal that is killing everything inside me ... 💔💔
Every day that passes, the feeling of betrayal grows stronger… Don't let this feeling control me any further... 🙏🙏
