The incessant need to paint Jason as some sort of terror to Gotham and the people of crime alley (and to say that they despise him) is classist btw. Whole heartedly believing that a people’s constantly let down and as a result killed by gotham’s inherently flawed system of justice would be powerless mentally against the allure of the constantly moral rich people that runs gotham requires a level of belief that the poor NEEDS the elite “white knight” to survive. That in real life? That just isn’t the case.

Who would you like more if you were starving and desperate? The man who gets shit done, stabilises and actually controls the gang activities in the alleys? And actively makes Gotham’s crime alley safer if only by a little bit? Or a man that you know for a fact physically cannot put himself into your shoes because he is the reason why you’re here in the first place? (Class divide requires that there be an elite actively oppressing and milking lower economic classes this isn’t some far left woke agenda ok? If you’re talking realistically which alot of you arguing for red hood isn’t actually well liked is then the fact of reality remains that they as a lower class is there BECAUSE of the elite like Bruce Wayne. And honestly it doesn’t matter if he’s a philanthropist because fact of the matter is if he still has enough funds to operate his Batman persona operate his company- openly and unabashedly show off the fact that he’s a billionaire that means he is UNEQUIVOCALLY part of the problem.) and instead of doing things the tried and true way ie, if you don’t die here then I will. He lets criminals live he lets them continue their terror though not explicitly it is still what he is doing.

And you’re telling me with a straight face that the people of crime alley would distrust and dislike Jason? He controls gangs, he takes hold of crime from within. Because he fundamentally understands that crime is not something that can be eliminated. I’d think I’d trust someone who understands the core and the crux of the issue as compared to some rich idealist who’s head is so far up his ass that he’s willing to basically endorse (inaction is the same as approval) my death because of his own out of touch moral code

And the thing is Jason never claims he’s doing more or greater than he is, he’s killing people and that’s a fact. He never once denies it. He never once claimed to liberate crime alley, and he never will. He is by his definition a villain, the people of crime alley might not necessarily trust Jason but they aren’t the fucking sheep dc portrays them to be. All throughout history deaths have been justified for change, do you seriously think a whole people’s exposed to conditions as cruel as the crime alley would take to death like how an elite or middle class would? If feasible change is in reach historically? No amount of death will deter people, that is the crux of the human psyche. Death is small peas to pay for freedom, for a better life.

Remembered a fic I read years ago on fanfic.net where I was so pissed off, I never finished it

It was Barry Allen-centric, I'm pretty sure

There was a villain that was going to show the memories of the most traumatized person in the League for whatever reason, and Bruce was so cocky and arrogant that it would be him

Then Barry gets super mad and yells at him that he’s never experienced that kind of trauma that he has, and that he’s only looking for an excuse to be mean and emo to people

And Bruce was portrayed to be in the wrong in this situation, like he's been overacting about his trauma the entire time

It’s like they think only one person can have trauma, and it’s a competition to see who has more trauma

Neither of these characters would act like that, and I had a dream about it after so many years, and it pissed me off once again

Bruce has constant migraines. They’re really, really, really bad. He throws up from time to time.

Can’t have any light or sound in the room, or else he’ll simply die from the overstimulation

At first, none of his kids took him seriously because Bruce would constantly push himself past his limits whenever they said they needed him

But one day, while helping out one of the kids, he just completely shut down and wasn’t able to even think without being in excruciating pain

They now leave him alone after getting the biggest angry scolding from Alfred because Bruce threw up all over the floor and passed out
