On one hand: the increasing level of political violence in the United States is very concerning, especially considering our gun problem. I do not want to live in a culture where assassinations are frequent, and it’s legit terrifying how much of a powder keg we’re in.

On the other hand: Charlie Kirk reaped what he sowed. It’s impossible to overstate the level of harm this man did. He acted as a propaganda arm for fascists and billionaires, advocated against the rights of women and minorities (he proudly said he would force his 10yo to give birth if she were raped and impregnated), and railed against reforming the very gun culture that killed him.

So yeah. Bye, bitch.

I'm not really celebrating this, it sucks that that's what the world has come to, and it sucks that his children lost a father.

That is about the extent of emotional energy and compassion i have for a man who spouted so much hatred and misinformation. He ultimately got his karma, albeit in a more violent way than anticipated or preferred. I am more concerned with all the lives impacted by his rhetoric, even if he never laid a finger on anyone directly.

To be truthful i feel worse for the children that he raised than I do for him.

Moreover, overpopulation is an ecofascist myth specifically scapegoating ‘developing’ nations in the global south for climate disaster.

In reality, populations only rise so sharply as people begin to receive better access to healthcare and maternal and infant mortality in particular decrease. Eventually, as healthcare access is more evenly distributed through a population and people on a larger scale are able to access family planning care, the population stops increasing and levels out and decreases.

Which is why so-called ‘developed’ are all now manufacturing a crisis about population decline and not having enough bodies to fill out the labor force while simultaneously fearmongering about overpopulation in racialized groups. It’s eugenics shit.

@theantiendoking astro, I have a genuine question. So lets say you met someone who agrees with all of your beliefs. And they have trauma stemming from childhood abuse, was diagnosed with DID, and is very open and proud about how they hate endos. But, they are also diagnosed with psychosis. Would you argue that they aren't a real system simply because of the psychosis? Or is it okay because they're anti endo like you? This is a genuine question, and your answer determines your ableism towards people with psychosis and hallucinations.

I can't express how damaging this has been to young artists.

Of the many things I struggled to explain to my students "Your sketch book is mainly for practicing techniques, practicing new things, NOTES, and dumb doodles that come to your mind that can inspire you later or help lead you to a good idea. It is NOT where you draw you final pieces. Please kill that darling," is pretty high on the list.

I legit started calling it a "first draft" book to activate prior knowledge from English because influencers have destroyed the concept of sketchbooks.
