You have to understand that Ilya's favourite thing is poking at Shane to get his reaction. He loves when Shane tells him fuck you, fuck off. He loves the little sparks of annoyance. He loves getting a reaction out of Shane from day 1. He never stops either.

Shane is always controlling himself to be and portray a certain thing and Ilya loves to break that façade.

Ilya tells him to get on his knees and expects a fuck you but Shane always surprises him when he wordlessly agrees. That's how he knows Shane wants him. He doesn't pretend to fight. Shane, who always has a word to say about some thing, overcome with desire and just doing the thing. It's heady and Ilya never takes it for granted.

Ilya also uses it to break the tension between them in the bathroom. He dismantles Shane's anger with a well executed jab. It's so seamless I doubt Shane even realizes it in that moment.

Ilya has always had a read on Shane, is so attune with him, and that's why we can all agree that Ilya is aware of his feelings first. But like man, it's just that whole thing of Shane being Shane, no tricks or swagger, that gets Ilya to fall. He really picked that neurospicy boy and said, yeah him. It's his freckles and cat like tendencies.
