i just feel so painfully agonisingly lonely at the moment

#I feel like a good few friends have drifted apart from me since i got ill #And now that i’m ill it’s hard to meet people and make new friends #So i just feel stuck being lonely and isolated #And it’s driving me crazy. I want so bad to feel connected and feel a part of something #But it’s like my body doesn’t want that. And it feels like so many of my attempts to meet people lately #have just been met w so much bad luck and so much rejection #And i feel so crazy for posting this on tumblr but it’s late and idk what else to do #God i just feel dejected. This isn’t what i thought my life would look like at 28 #I thought i’d be happy

The underlying idea is that in some people – and I stress some people – chronic illness might look like this: a very ancient and primitive part of the brain and nervous system believes it has detected danger, possibly a tiger or something like that, and so it produces pain or a whole range of symptoms in an effort to get the sufferer to close down and protect herself. The nervous system does this very effectively and it can carry on doing it for decades. It is really very inventive. I feel that mine ought to be eligible for some sort of prize.

Over the course of a single month/week/day i will ricochet between ‘i am so exhausted that all i want to do is lie down. My social life should consist of me in a four poster bed to be greeted consoled and entertained by my family friends and lovers’ and ‘actually i feel so normal rn. To make up for lost time i should go to the club and then go to the club in berlin then go to the club in paris then go to the club in tokyo then go to the club in milan then learn the phonebook then go to the club on the moon then go camping in the scottish highlands for 2 weeks’
