this is the one art form I genuinely just cannot get my brain to accept as real. I’ve watched sped-up videos of it being done, read about it, seen in-progress marble statues and I still just can’t get it to sink in or stick. My mind doesn’t want to believe that any person has ever been able to start with a big block and break little bits off of it until it looks like a finely detailed person. At some point it has no recognizable shape and they still know where and how deep they should take a chip out of it that’ll still be the right decision 50,000 fucking chips later?!?

The Tear-Taste-Test Fest: Author Reveals!
Our sobmeliers were too excited to wait until the 14th (and preferred reveals to be on a Sunday instead of a Tuesday), so I am super proud to reveal which of the 10 participating authors wrote the 10 fics in The Tear-Taste-Test Fest Collection!

The Tear-Taste-Test Fest: Intro
As has been known to happen, a one-off comment by one of my fic writer friends spiraled very quickly into a reason to make up a fun game and write a whole lot of dark, smutty Tomarrymort fanfiction.
In this particular case, a joke about Harry Potter's tears being a fine wine led to a punny response of 'then we must be sobmeliers.' At some point, the conversation moved onto the idea of a blind wine tears taste test and who among our friends would be the best at such a thing, which roused the collective competitive spirit of the group talking about it, and somehow, the idea of The Tear-Taste-Test Fest was born.
The Tear-Taste-Test Fest:
is a small, anonymous Tomarrymort event in which writers have to 1) write a Tomarrymort fic in which Harry Potter cries [the type or quantity of the tears doesn't matter as long as they are real and number at least one (1)] and 2) try to guess which of the other participating authors wrote the other fics in the collection in the quest to be the best sobmelier among our friends.
In short, the TTT Fest is an excuse for some awesome writers to create some incredible content and face off against each other in a guessing game.
I, personally, loved the idea but promised myself I wouldn't write any more one-shots until I've updated all my ongoing fics, so I declined to write for the event, BUT I'm acting as the moderator/organizer to keep everything blind and the game fair for the writers.
Since they're posting the fics anonymously, none of the writers can tell people/post on socials about their new fics without giving the game away, so I'm here to post for them!
The Ao3 posting period is from Feb. 14-28, and so far, 6 of 11 fics have been posted to The Tear-Taste-Test Fest Collection. I'll post again on the 28th with links to each fic and short summaries as well as a third time on Mar. 14 with the author reveals.
Warning: The majority of these fics include darker, disturbing themes, explicit content, and are, in general, NSFW. Mind the tags!!
Please give these fantastic fics (seriously, my friends have put out some incredible content so far) a read, show the authors some love, and try to guess the writer in the comments prior to reveals if you're interested!

Each creature from a different biome… I had a lot of fun coming up with the different types of dragons and imagining what it would be like for these warriors to face each one. The fire dragon being particularly destructive. The night dragon near impossible to see coming in the dark. The ice dragons the size of mountains. The river dragon’s keen eyes.
