this is such a vulnerable question i was half hoping nobody would ever get out of me. but theres just too many.. I’m generally pretty open and ‘ykw hell yeah’ to literally any kind of rendition/hcs and will probably agree with yours (i’m a multishipper + open to yume/selfshipping and it likely only takes me one good artwork & a convo to get me to like your pitch)
Alfred is such a spectrum to me.
My headcanons depend on what era/setting he’s in, but something permanent is always the (with varying degrees) emotional repression/constipation masked by his youthful bravado or feigned airheadedness (though he’d be careful to not make people believe he’s genuinely stupid or naïve. Though fragile, his ego is decent sized after all) just enough to disarm them. I’d also like to characterize his hero complex with absolution and deep-rooted self scrutiny (religious/evangelical guilt if you’re into nationverse stuff!) that manifests into how unfit (and sometimes bitterly) he deems other people, which gives him unilateral tendencies.
For physical appearance, I always imagine him with a sunkissed tan and freckles. Dirty blond hair, and his eyes would be a darker, ocean type of blue instead of the sky. Plush but muscular body type.. i imagine he’d bulk. Very sweet and warm smile with dimples.. (I actually have a face claim list if you want LMAO)
A fun and cute accessory i always give him (at least in contemporary settings) would be a small, freckle sized star tattoo on his neck, and a small, reared up stallion on his arm. Something permanent would be the dog tags and maybe a small gold cross chain.
