Me waiting through the whole episode.
one thing i’ve noticed during the rtd2 era is fans trying to come up with convoluted theories to make rtd’s plots make sense and/or be good. every time i see one of those posts, i really wonder just how much thought you think he puts into these plots? the same man who says he had no plan for mrs flood and writes things for engagement? you guys think he’s smarter than he is, and then act surprised when the episodes turn out bad. come on
"why are you still watching doctor who if you don't like it?" because i love doctor who? because i would really like to see it do interesting things? i can be critical of it and enjoy it!
One thing though, I hope the girl who plays Poppy doesn’t get harassed about this in the future. She’s not in charge of writing the scripts for the show and she is quite literally a toddler who wouldn’t have had the ability to assess if she liked a script nor turn down roles. If in 3-5 years people start harassing her about this they are beyond moronic
Doctor Who fans rn:
seeing everyone come together and actually agree with each other for once bc the ending was that bad
all together now everybody
billie piper returning isn’t an awesome feminist moment or “haunting the narrative” or the story going full circle. It’s keys being jingled in front of our faces like babies
From what I know (and this is mostly rumors) it feels to me like RTD wanted an actor he knows will work with him (it seems like relations between Ncuti and the BBC deteriorated like they did with Eccleston. That's only rumors though)
studies reveal 99% of classic doctor who fans quit theorizing some random woman is the rani just as theyre about to be proven right
Guys i have a question about the doctor, you know when you feel your heart beat on your wrist? so does the doctor feel his hearts like the right heart on the right wrist and left heart on the left wrist or the two hearts on both wrist's? like two veins for both hearts, this is banging on my brain since yesterday
Both hearts can be heard on either wrist, Time Lords can feel each others wrists to determine other people are Time Lord's
venusian aikido
take that u little bitch
Why is everyone wearing white?
And why is Jon beating up Patrick and Peter?
jon pertwee does what jon pertwee wants
jon pertwee does what jon pertwee wants
I can’t argue with that.
I cannot believe the doctor who fandom has spent the last twenty full years clowning that Susan and the Rani are going to come back and then they both turn up IN THE SAME EPISODE
You can never experience watching your favourite show for the first time again, but you CAN convince someone else to watch your favourite show and vicariously enjoy all their raw reactions to seeing it for the first time, which is honestly nearly as good.
*casts a fishing rod*
I've been watching this crazy show for over 40 years; reaction posts let me TIME TRAVEL, my dears 😘
People who haven't seen any Third Doctor eps will be like "oh Twelve is a mean Doctor, Nine is a mean Doctor" you fools you know NOTHING. Nine is sometimes cruel in moments when he is under intense stress but Three is out here being a dick to people purely because its a Tuesday. He's called the Master an unimaginative plodder, Jo a bun vendor, and the Brigadier an idiot and it's only 10AM. The Brigadier is Doing His Best™ to cope with an invasion of earth and Three is there like "wow, now you've come up with such a brilliant plan, how about you actually go do it and quit bothering me". The Master is like "i admire the Doctor in many ways, he is a brilliant adversary" and Three is like 'the Master is an idiot who couldn't find his own asshole with a map'. He's sarcastic he's caustic he's fresh out of fucks to give and completely convinced that he's the smartest in the room, and he's confidently saying, without a hint of self-awarness or irony, that vanity is the Master's weakness. All this is intended as a compliment btw I love him.
(And it gets even better bc just as the Doctor is saying vanity is the Master's weakness, while hopping around on one foot cursing bc he got frustrated and kicked the tardis, the Master, who has happily stuck his fingers into every live socket ever invented, is calling curiosity the Doctor's weakness. No one is coming out of this with any dignity left).
everyone always acts so aghast about the whole “the doctor kidnapped his first companions!” thing which yeah obviously terrifying from ian and barbara’s pov but you really gotta look at it from the angle of “guy who just ran away from home comes across someone breaking into his car and in a panic locks the doors hits the gas and now they’re all very very lost” and then it becomes hysterical
Spoilers for "Doctor Who: The War Doctor Rises: Fallen Heroes"
I wanted to talk about this audio adventure, specifically the ending because... Well, it is everything I have wanted from War Doctor audios for a while. We finally get to listen to the Doctor commit one of these terrible acts they talk about so much. I've always been immensely frustrated by the refusal to show them in his stories. That is the whole point of this incarnation of the Doctor, that he does terrible things because he is at war. What he did at the end of this story was cruel, cowardly, and went against everything he's ever stood for and that is exactly what makes it perfect. Then his speech at the end about killing the Doctor was just a cherry on top. I cannot stress enough how much I loved this story, and I hope future "War Doctor Rises" audios continue down this line of things
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Doctor has found all sorts of unorthodox uses for their extensive bow tie collection since regenerating. I am of course referring to things like tying up machinery, organizing cables in the TARDIS, or like a bookmark. but you can come to your own conclusions
