Ruthye, throughout the entirety of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow:
To me, the most compelling scene in the new Supergirl was when Kara speaks with her father after seeing that he is making her an escape pod. The dialogue is in Kryptonian. And that is the most poignant and elegant dialogue in the film to me. Kara's lines and the emotion put into her saying to him, "I am only one tiny life," and her calm, clear articulation of her vision of herself being allowed to die beside her people and her mother and father was so profound and existential. And when he explains why they need to her live, you know she would agree. The price, the sheer weight, the endless gravity of that is so obvious. I am honestly not used to that depth in these superhero films. Both her desire and that of her parents felt so authentic. That conveyed tragedy and profound love. An impossible situation. A critical, defining experience. That was the heart of her character to me. When she flew up into space to scream in silence, that was a compelling image. That dialogue, though, hit me deep in my soul. This film would have been worth it for that exchange alone for me. I just can't think of anything I've seen that was like that before.
clark being too midwestern polite to ever tell kara he hates dog sitting krypto and then is like, i still can't stand krypto but we both hate lex luthor so we are now sympatico but also, clark never wants krypto in his sleek metropolis apartment again
meanwhile, kara does not understand midwestern passive aggressiveness so always assumes clark likes dog sitting
Superman said, “all immigrants are people and deserve respect and love they aren’t aliens they are humans and the people who disagree should die” and supergirl said, “A women’s purity shouldn’t be defined by the man who has caused them harm and the exploitation of young women is disgusting and the men who do such things should die” and they are right
She's being so big and brave.
There's something so special to me about Supergirl's big message being "Everything and everyone, including you, will be fine. You will be okay."
It's so special to me the sort of loneliness Kara and Ruthye experience.
I love Ruthye's "You're not always nice, but you're kind. You're not always perfect, but you're good." because it's a reassurance that even if you're not 100% good and nice and perfect, you can still be kind and good. Kindness isn't something that you are or aren't, it's an every day choice. Which is a complete contrast to Superman's ideology.
It's such a comforting movie. It makes me cry everytime.
It may be ridiculous, but Supergirl is so special to me. And, hearing her movie preach being kind and good is possible even when you're not perfect is so comforting. It's so hopeful in its own way.
S3 spoilers probably
I love The Sapphic Pose ™️
It doesn't stop with animation, either:

On a long-awaited trip to another country, a bandaged Enid struggles in Wednesday’s grasp.
Enid: Lemme go! PLEASE.
Wednesday: Enid, they are hunters. They just attempted to kill you.
Enid: I don’t care! I have to see them!
Wednesday: Absolutely not. I will not—
Enid: 🥺
Wednesday: 😑
Wednesday: …I will accompany you—but only if you wash that atrocious body paint off first.
Enid: 🥹💕

Mira: *whispers to her bandmates* It’s that demon with the pink and blue hair again. Up front at 2 o’clock.
Rumi: Are we sure she’s a demon? She seemed really sweet before we fought, and I can’t even see the markings anymore.
Mira: It’s all an act. Besides, check out the girl next to her.
Rumi: 🤨❓
Rumi: 😬‼️
Rumi: Yikes. Talk about evil death glares. Total demon vibes.
Mira: Exactly. What do you think, Zoey?
Zoey: Ohmygosh! She’s so dark and mysterious! Do you think they’re together?? I hope so! They have perfect black cat and golden retriever energy! I am so shipping them! I don’t care if they’re d—

At least MAGA and DSA got to own the libs.
Interesting that Zor-El was aware of his brother's plan for Kal but didn't approve. I can't imagine how that conversation went.
Jor-El: Ok, the planet is going to explode.
Zor-El: Uh huh.
Jor-El: So I'm going to send my son to another planet to save him.
Zor-El: With you so far.
Jor-El: And the yellow sun will give him great power to conquer the world so he can take a harem of wives to repopulate the Kryptonian species.
Zor-El: And you lost me.
people don't bat an eye at a dozen mediocre movies about a man but if a movie about a woman isn't pure brilliance then they act like it's trash. they do this with superhero movies with a very physically strong female character like captain marvel and now supergirl. they send vitriolic hate to the actresses and act like it's justified because they didn't like the movie
I honestly haven’t seen supergirl yet because it got released during my exams so i’ll have to wait to watch it BUT i already knew what would happen before it got released, for example dc didn’t even promote much when it comes to the actual main character of the movie (literally supergirl), they spent most of the times making post abt krypto, superman and lobo, while superman had a much bigger campaign last year, and ofc we have men not willing to watch a movie with a strong female main character that isn’t overly sexualised , which significantly decreases the the audience, and then everyone started ganging up and hating on milly just because she has boundaries and is strong enough to stand up for herself, also because she doesn’t fit their standards of hotness that is straight up taken from porn because they are so brain rotted from the amount they watch, it’s lowkey so fucking disgusting, omg someone blow up the earth already, i can’t with the way humanity has regressed, in the 80s, milly would have been considered the epitome of beauty, now if you don’t have the same generic surgically enhanced faced with sydney sweeney’s boobs, men will start a hate campaign against you and refuse to watch your movie, also fuck dc for a-not promoting supergirl well enough and focusing most of their posts on secondary male characters and b-literally prioritising a dog over female characters.
I think it would be really funny if Clark's parents in the dcu were just doomsday preppers or something lol
Commission Info / Kofi (members get comics a week early)
Watching supergirl and her mom telling her to be a good person is so funny compared to Clark's parents
Like no bud kryptonians are like that just your parents

this was worth seeing in theaters! is it a perfect movie? no. but despite of some script issues, this was a fun movie with great action and strong performances. There’s much more good than bad, and if you get the chance, go see this in theaters.
