i find post appocalypse as escapist fantasy to be fascinating. like most people logically know a zombie outbreak would not, in fact, be a good thing for humanity at large. however sometimes u can tell the people writing it find the idea of total societal collapse to be kinda appealing? no rent or deadlines. you loot soup cans from the grocery store and your biggest issue is something you can shoot in the face with a gun. and you pretend you're a badass who totally knows how to grow food from scratch and wouldn't die of preventable diseases 2 months in. i get it man. i understand.
