me to my husband: ao3 is down again [explains outage]
my husband: someone should write a spicy fic about the two database engineers locked in the server room trying to fix it
my husband, smug: there was only one spreadsheet đ
Crying
"holy shit they finally confessed, what comes next--"
ao3 is down in my prime binge reading hours god how am I supposed to survive
Hey so I got this comment on a fic that seemed genuine and reading it makes me believe they did in fact read the chapter. I replied saying thank you and some other stuff and then they asked it we could âmove this conversation onto another platformâ. Iâve gotten my fair share of scam bot comments on ao3 and bots in DMs on here and something about it really threw me off. I feel like this person is being genuine but the scam bot red flags are unfortunately raised. Not sure what to say to them tbh
report them. it is 99% a scam and they were most certainly baiting for a reply from you by âacting like a genuine readerâ at first, so that you lowered your guard. since these bots seem to be learning that mentioning anything about discord (or other social media platforms) in the first comment will most likely get them reported â since more and more people are starting to notice their pattern.
they may even mention a specific scene from your fic or a specific character by name, since theyâre getting smarter. how do they do that? my guess is that they ran your fic through ai and let ai write a comment for them â with specific charactersâ names or specific scenes from your fic â so that they looked legit.
(but they sometimes make mistakes by âcommenting on the wrong ficâ, so some people are getting comments that mention characters that arenât in their fics â characters they donât know or write about, from fandoms they donât know or write about â or scenes that arenât from their fics at all. hereâs an example of what Iâm talking about.)

my corner store guy is a 50 year old man who's my best friend in the world and recently he was like "you're too pretty to be single I have some nephews you should meet. very handsome!" and I was like "a niece might be more up my alley" and he just got more excited and said "ah even better! I was overselling my nephews but my nieces are very beautiful"

hey sorry for getting really pissy at you earlier because I could hear you chewing. see I have a condition called [remembers pathologizing my behavior is unhelpful] it's actually because I hate you, specifically,
Since we keep getting "live action" CGI remakes of already perfectly adequate animated movies, and because people need to understand that animation is a medium and not a genre, I have prepared this primer about the importance of Visual Language for Conveying Information.
Can you tell what the personalities of these two mice are?
Can you tell now?
Which of these two tigers feels safer to be around?
Which of these three dogs is the funniest one?
If you can answer these questions, then you already have experience with the idea of visual language and stylistic choices being used to impart narrative meaning. If you can understand why these choices were made to impart meaning, then you can understand why animation is a medium for telling stories that has its own inherent value, and is not merely a "placeholder" for the eventual implementation of photorealistic presentation (aka "Live Action" CGI). Animation does not need to be "corrected" or "legitimized" by remaking it into the most representational simulation of observable reality.
This is why I love 2D animation and will forever.
Doctor: $140,000 a year
Furry artist on Patreon: $160,000 a year
Iâm sorry for the inaccuracies, Doctor Yiff
Well, furry artists are typically more competent and courteous than your average doctor, so I can see that.
Did you just legitimately tell me that a person who draws wolf ass is more competent than a dude who spent 8+ years in a university to give you your lung transplant?
doctors are bullshit and furry artists perform an infinitely more valuable service to society compared to them
You will die in 7 days
It took doctorâs like 10 years to diagnose what was wrong with me, some insisting I was faking for attention while a furry artist I knew just went âthat sounds like crohnâsâ after hearing me complain once and ended up being right
Also I canât go to a doctor and ask them to draw Rouge the Bat wider than she is tall with tits to match, now can I
You could if you werenât a fucking coward
