Hey all, my name is Alex. I'm a full time college student and artist from California. Tabletop gaming, nerdy shit, and art in various forms are my passions. This blog is going to be dedicated to my art exclusively. I work mostly in traditional media, with my prefered medium being Prismacolor colored pencils.

Oh my gosh I finally finished my week long project! I present, Buck in the Forest! Buck is my tiefling ranger for an upcoming dnd5e game being ran by my boyfriend @behindthegmscreen. I'm really excited to start! This is the first time I've ever done a background!!!

My progress today on that Buck drawing. I've got him in ink all cleaned up and then I doodled another quick Buck so I could see how his color palette would look in practice. Now to work up the courage to actually color on him!!! Scary scary!!!

And here's some work I've been more serious about. It's a character piece for Buck my tiefling ranger in an upcoming DnD 5e game. I even drew a background! Just gotta ink and color it now!

My art easel I ordered with the money I got from my Kofi supporters came in! I did some test work on a bulbasuar doodle with some Spectrum Noir markers that my mom got. It came out well for a first try but I know that I need work and new paper. It definitely bled too much. But it's my first step into a new medium and I'm proud!!!

A finished Buck concept piece. Unfortunately I'm not gonna take the time to color the other ones because he made a big class change at yesterdays planning session and he's a Ranger now. So no more chainmail for him haha. Just gonna have to draw more now. :)

I've been having a hard time really finishing stuff lately because school has been so stressful but I'm still trying to make it a goal to do a little something everyday. Here's Aldric with a rapier in his face. I also really like the new brush pen I got from my Sketchbox. It has a lot of variety in line weight and I really appreciate that.

Here's a test I did of some new supplies I got from my monthly Sketchbox subscription. I think I ought to try and thin the bronze ink with some water next time but otherwise I'm happy with how it came out as a test.

Getting really excited for a new dnd game!!! I drew my character in the character portrait. His name is Buck. He's a tiefling paladin who worships Obad-hai. He wants to take the Oath of the Ancients. He's totally a jock who loves flexing and engaging contests of strength, but he also loves nature and picks flowers. <3

Some character design work on my up and coming DnD 5e character, Buck. Nothing has been set in stone yet because the campaign isn’t supposed to start for at least another month, but Buck is for certain going to be a paladin, and obviously a Tiefling. I’m super excited to start a new game after all the nonsense that has been going on in my life. I want to work on the Rick and Morty stuff more soon, but I’m glad I took the time to do this today. It was really relaxing. The stakes are much lower during the design phase. Next step, full body!

Work in Progress

Rick and Morty as DnD Characters. Rick is a DnD 3.5e Wizard, because he’s basically a god, and Morty is a Bard. He might have a dip in Rogue but I’m not sure.

I realized that I never posted either of these on this blog, and they’re some of the best pictures I’ve drawn of my 7th Sea character, Aldric Bouchard. He’s a nobleman from Montaigne who defected to join the revolution. Eventually that cause, and some dubious betrayal of the Illuminati he didn’t realize he was working for lead him to fleeing the country into neighboring Castille with a strange group of ‘adventurers’. The road hasn’t been easy, and no matter what he does it feels like he can never escape the pull of Montaigne’s politics.
