This miniature replica of Taj Mahal floats in the up-market Sausalito, across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, a city known for its community of house-boat dwellers. Bill Harlan, the owner, was so much in love with the Taj Mahal that he made a 360 ton barge designed to look like it so he could live in it. Motha Maruti Temple at Lonar, near the Ambar Crater Lake which is at a distance of 700m from the main Lonar Crater Lake, believed to be caused by a splinter of the same meteor that created the Lonar Crater Lake [hence also called Chhota (Little) Lonar]. The idol is made from the same crater rock which is highly magnetic. Also, it's one of the very few temples in India that have a reclining idol of Hanumanji. On certain auspicious occasions, the idol is completely coated with dark orange sindoor (vermillion). Kal Bhairav Temple is located in Ujjain. Kal Bhairav is the guardian deity of the city. Liquor is one of the offerings made to the deity! Outside the temple, vendors sell baskets of offerings & liquor (both country & foreign). Devotees hand over the liquor bottle to the temple priest, who pours the liquor in a saucer, offers prayers, takes the saucer near the deity's lips, tilts the plate a bit & voila - the liquor starts disappearing miraculously! Mathoor Aqueduct or Mathoor Hanging Trough (Thotti Palam), which is 60 km from Kanyakumari, is built over the Pahrali river to carry water for irrigation from an elevated level of one hill to another. It has 28 pillars & the max. height of the pillars is 115 ft. With a length of 378 m, it is the tallest & the longest hanging bridge in Asia. The Habur limestone found in Jaisalmer is marketed as a healing stone. Reddish brown in colour with a dark black pattern, it is rich in fossil bacteria. It's said that milk turns to curd overnight when left in a glass moulded from the limestone. It's proof that this entire region was once a prehistoric seabed.
