We have been in lockdown, so sadly I've missed a lot of cinema released movies but I did get to watch a lot of Netflix!
Then I forgot to review all the movies I've seen in the past few months. So here is quick reviews for the following movies (some I did get to see in the cinema before lockdown happened);
No One Gets Out Alive, There's Someone Inside Your House, Till Death, Intrusion, America The Motion Picture, Army of the Dead, The Guilty, Luca, Wrath of Man, Willy's Wonderland, Every Breath You Take, The Unholy, Spiral From the book of Saw, The Conjuring 3, A Quiet Place 2, Fast 9, Pieces of a Woman, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, Black Widow, Space Jam 2, Fear Street Part 1, 2, 3, Escape Room 2, OLD, and Cruella. (Broken into posts)
The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard - If you loved the first one, you'll love this. It is absolutely hilarious. The storyline is beyond crazy/ridiculous but damn it was fun. 8/10
Black Widow - Oh damn this was so pointless. It added nothing to Natasha's story just added way more questions. It was boring, and I LOVE the cast but did they even try with their performances. Was baffling. I just did not enjoy it and usually I love the Marvel films. 2/10
Space Jam A New Legacy 2 - My expectations were low, and this turned out to be really funny. The product placements were super over the top but that was basically what Space Jam did originally, so it wasn't a surprise. I just enjoyed it and laughed throughout the whole thing (except the first 10 or so minutes of the movie. That was boring). 6/10
Escape Room 2 Tournament of Champions - Really loved the first one, and this was honestly disappointing compared to the first, but the first one also wasn't a masterpiece so it's basically what I expected. Some of the rooms were pretty cool, but the trailer gave too many away. Wasn't a fan of the 'twist' because they created more plot holes. Would still watch again, and watch a third one if they make it. 6/10
OLD - Basically what you would expect from a M. Night Shyamalan film. It was a bit weird, but definitely interesting. The performances were great and the cinematography was gorgeous. I do believe this would work way better as a TV show though. 8/10
Fear Street Part 1 1994 - This looked pretty cool, but I wasn't really into it. It took a while to get into the story and the performances/characters were bland as shit. Did enjoy some of the gore though. 4/10
Fear Street Part 2 1978 - Enjoyed this one more than the first, but still had a lot of the same issues. Story was a bit better, but also felt like I was just watching a Friday the 13th movie. 5/10
Fear Street Part 3 1666 - Easily the best out of the trilogy. This felt like it was 2 seperate movies merged into one and it really worked. The origin story was intriguing, and the second part was awesome. The way they brought it all together for the conclusion of the film. The use of music/lighting and effects was great. Due to such a great ending, it did make me appreciate the trilogy of a whole a bit more. 7/10

(Broken into posts)
Spiral from the book of Saw - I LOVED this movie. I love the entire Saw franchise (a bit how ya goin' with Jigsaw) so I went in with mixed expectations and I really enjoyed it. Chris Rock did a brilliant job with the film, and it was way gorier than I expected and damn it was good! If you haven't seen it and you love horror/gore, definitely check it out. 10/10
The Conjuring 3 The Devil Made Me Do It - Compared to the other Conjuring films this was honestly pretty disappointing. I wanted to like it because I do love the other ones and it's definitely not the worst film in the whole Conjuring universe, but I have a very meh feeling about this one. 5/10
A Quiet Place 2 - Not every film needs a sequel, and a Quiet Place is one of those films. I was excited for this and it kept getting delayed - by the time it came around, it wasn't worth the wait. The best part was probably the addition of Cillian Murphy but I honestly couldn't understand what he was saying half the time. The whole storyline was basically 'don't leave the kids alone' and they kept doing it. 6/10
Fast and the Furious 9 - I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY WENT TO SPACE. HOLY SHIT. I love the whole Fast franchise so I am definitely biased, but I loved this film. It was just crazy over-the-top fun and I enjoyed the shit out of it. Also JOHN CENA WAS AMAZING. If you like the other films, you should definitely enjoy this too. 9/10
Pieces of a Woman - Vanessa Kirby was amazing in this film, but damn it was a heartbreaking one. The performance, storyline, cinematography/directing - everything was brilliant. Considering the topic, it is a very hard film to watch once let alone multiple viewings. I would suggest watching it at least once because it is a great film, but I can understand why some people can't. 8/10
Cruella - HOLY HELL WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS FILM. It was so bad. I love Emma Stone, and she's the only reason I'm not giving this a zero but damn it was boring and the lighting was so incredibly bad. The British accent, and everyone's performance were really disappointing as well. Honestly I hated it, and I'm baffled why people love it and why there is a sequel coming. 2/10

(Broken into posts)
The Guilty - Jake Gyllenhaal was easily the best thing about this movie, his performance was absolutely incredible. I enjoyed the movie, but it was quite frustrating and stressful to watch at times. Could've been a bit better, and it's not something I could watch again - but still worth checking out at least once. 6/10
Luca - Super cute film. The animation was incredible, and the storyline was really sweet. I loved this film. If you haven't seen it I do recommend giving it a chance. 8/10
Wrath of Man - I'm a sucker for any Jason Statham film to be honest. I really enjoyed the storyline and the action was pretty enjoyable. I have accepted that Jason pretty much plays the same character in every movie now - so as long as you know that going into any of his films, you are going to have a super great time. 7/10
Willy's Wonderland - Such a batshit crazy film. Which I guess can summarise any Nicolas Cage movie lately - have an open mind and you'll enjoy it. Gory and funny film that explains nothing. I hope you enjoy! 7/10
Every Breath You Take - The storyline was fantastic, and while it's a bit predictable and does remind me a lot of the movie Fear (1996) - I really enjoyed it. The performances, and the way the story unfolds and how they deal with their grief as well as dealing with this stranger suddenly appearing into their life. If you haven't seen this film as it feels like it snuck under the radar, give it a watch. 7/10
The Unholy - Jeffery Dean Morgan is fantastic in this movie, and it was actually quite scary at times. Decent storytelling, and performances. Short and to the point. If you're a horror fan you should check this one out. 7/10

(Broken into posts)
No One Gets Out Alive - Basic premise, with a very weird delivery. I was expecting a scarier movie based on the trailer but it was more of a suspense thriller film. Which isn't a bad thing, but it was quite boring and quite confusing as the film progressed. Performances were disappointing as well. 3/10
There's Someone Inside Your House - I expected your basic teenage horror movie and I was pleasantly surprised at how gory it actually was. I love gore films and while the storyline was predictable, it was extremely enjoyable due to a short duration and low expectations. 7/10
Till Death - People give Megan Fox way too much hate and it's unwarranted, she's a pretty great actress and considering she is holding this movie on her own the majority of the time she did a brilliant job. The script was surprising and it was a short duration. Definitely recommend giving this one a chance. 8/10
Intrusion - I didn't watch the trailer, I saw Logan Marshall-Green was one of the cast members and I instantly watched it. I watched the trailer afterwards and if you have seen the trailer sadly you have watched the movie, but wow it was a weird journey not knowing anything about it. It wasn't too bad but if it wasn't for liking the cast I wouldn't have bothered with it if I watched the trailer first. 5/10
America The Motion Picture - Holy hell this movie was INSANE, and absolutely hilarious. If you love humour like South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force etc. I highly recommend watching this. I laughed way too hard. 8/10
Army of the Dead - I wanted to like this. I really did. I love zombies. I love heist movies. I love Zack Synder. The trailer looked amazing, I'm a fan of Batista - but I just couldn't get into it. The characters were annoying as shit, the action was pretty poor, and I just wasn't feeling. Pretty excited there is a prequel coming though. 3/10
I've been watching the Oscar nominated movies leading up to the Oscars tomorrow. SO quick reviews coming for them shortly.
For now though, my hopes for the following categories and who may be the winners.
ACTOR IN LEADING ROLE;
I expect Chadwick Boseman to win for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. I do believe Anthony Hopkins for The Father would definitely deserve it though.
ACTOR IN SUPPORTING ROLE;
I didn't get a chance to watch One Night in Miami, but out of the rest. I am hoping Daniel Kaluuya wins for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah.
ACTRESS IN LEADING ROLE;
There are 2 amazing picks here, Carey Mulligan in Promising Young Woman and Vanessa Kirby in Pieces of Woman - they both deserve the win, so I would be happy with either of them. Please check out the movies if you haven't.
ACTRESS IN SUPPORTING ROLE;
OLIVIA COLEMAN IN THE FATHER.
No ifs or buts, she deserves it.
CINEMATOGRAPHY;
All super well deserved, but my main pick here is Nomadland.
DIRECTING;
Please please please give this to Emerald Fennel for Promising Young Woman! More people need to see this movie.
ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY;
All of these films were all amazing in their own way, and they all deserve the nomination. This is the hardest one to pick. But I'm going to pick Promising Young Woman.
ADAPTED SCREENPLAY;
I missed watching a lot of the movies in this category sadly, my pick though will be The Father.
BEST PICTURE;
Out of the 8 nominated films, I did get a chance to watch them all.
So my choices in order
1. Promising Young Woman.
2. The Father
3. The Trial of the Chicago 7
4. Judas & The Black Messiah
5. Minari
6. Sound of Metal
7. Nomadland
8. Mank
10 Quick reviews for New Movies!!!
This post includes; Mortal Kombat, Nobody, Chaos Walking, Godzilla Vs Kong, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Mank, Ascendant, Sound of Metal, The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, and the Justice League Synder Cut.
Mortal Kombat (2021): Fantastic movie!!! The action was absolutely brilliant. Due to the rated R18+, we got more gore and violence than what was allowed in the 1995 version. Definitely enjoyed this one, and the cast were brilliant.
Nobody (2021): Incredible film. A great balance of story, action, and humour. Bob Odenkirk was wonderful in the lead role. Loved the violence, and gore. If you love John Wick, you will love this.
Chaos Walking (2021): I actually really loved this! It was super fun, Tom Holland was adorable - and the 'noise' was really unique. Him and Daisy had great chemistry - I really hope this is successful enough to bring about sequels.
Godzilla Vs Kong (2021): This was a complete bore. Some parts of the story was decent/entertaining enough. But overall, it was too long and dragged on way too much. Was quite predictable too.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020): Brilliant storytelling. Amazing performances by the cast. I completely understand why it's nominated for the Oscars - well deserved.
Mank (2020): I was hoping to love this film since the cast is wonderful and it's directed by David Fincher, but it was severely underwhelming and I wasn't into it at all.
Ascendant (2021): If I could die from boredom, I would be dead. There is nothing redeemable about this movie. Please save yourself and don't see it.
Sound of Metal (2019): The movie is interesting and unique, especially with how the story progresses through the use of sound editing. Overall, it did feel way too long and I got a bit bored with it.
The Map of Tiny Perfect Things (2021): Super cute film. Predictable but still completely charming. Wonderful chemistry between the leads.
Justice League Synder Cut (2021): FANTASTIC! Obviously it is quite long at 4 hours, but finally we get more story for Cyborg, and The Flash. The action sequences were great, and worth a watch. Epilogue scenes were the best.
Almost there catching up! Here are some more quick reviews.
1. Can You Keep A Secret? (2019) - Predictable, but super cute and corny rom/com. This absolutely cracked me up and I loved it.
2. Five Feet Apart (2019) - Wonderfully told story, brilliant performances. A great mixture of funny but also heartbreaking. Glad I finally got around to watching it.
3. Wrong Turn (2021) - Flaming hot trash pile. There is nothing good about this movie. Save yourself and do not watch.
4. The Little Things (2021) - I don’t really know how I feel about this film. In one way I enjoyed it, especially because of the performances by the cast as they were fantastic, but the story and especially the ending was just severely underwhelming and disappointing after such an interesting movie. Overall pretty forgettable.
5. To All The Boys 3 (2021) - If you enjoyed the first 2, you’ll enjoy this. No where near as good as the other 2. But enjoyable enough to watch at least once.Â
6. Yes Day (2021) - Super simple premise. Predictable, but really funny and I enjoyed watching it.
7. Coming 2 America (2021) - I hated it. Not every movie needs a sequel and this is clear evidence that Coming to America didn’t need one.
8. Predestination (2014) - Honestly surprised I’ve never heard of, or seen this movie before. Was pretty different. Strange concept and delivery, but the storytelling and performances were beyond intriguing and I really enjoyed it. Though I have a lot of questions about how it would really work.
9. Searching (2018) - This movie had so much buzz when it was first released and I can completely understand why. It was brilliant - within editing, storytelling, performances. The ending - wow. Just overall a super great film, if you haven’t seen it. Please watch it.
10. Palm Springs (2020) - Fantastic movie. Hilarious. Characters are great with amazing chemistry. Short duration, very worth watching.
SUPER QUICK MOVIE REVIEWS FOR LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR. DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE =)
1. The War With Grandpa (2020) - Super silly storyline that is really sweet and hilarious. I loved it. Great for all ages.
2. Monster Hunter (2020) - This movie is such trash. I like how they showcase the weapons but that was pretty much it. The characters were bland, and the cast was just wasted. Tony Jaa especially deserved better, and while I usually love Milla I do not need THAT many close ups of her face. If you didn’t see this one at the cinema - just keep it that way.
3. Let Him Go (2020) - Brilliant and intense film. The storytelling is done extremely well over the duration. The cast was wonderful and if you haven’t seen this film I highly recommend it.
4. Greenland (2020) - To be honest, I was expecting this movie to be terrible but I really enjoyed it. Different idea for an ‘end of the world’ film. The cast was great, and the constant stress the audience feels watching the characters really makes the movie more memorable.
5. The Dry (2021) - This film is a MUST see. Everything about it is incredible. The cast, the storytelling, the cinematography/direction of it. Highly recommend watching this film. Is easily going to be in the top 10 at the end of the year for a lot of people I reckon.
6. The Lie (2020) - This movie was so beyond stupid, I have no words for it. I thought it was going to be interesting... Have some unique consequences you usually wouldn’t see, but holy hell. I hated every single moment of it. The characters were unbearable.Â
7. Promising Young Woman (2021) - FANTASTIC MOVIE. Please check this movie out if you haven’t yet. The story - is just wow. The cast/characters were pretty interesting. Absolutely loved Carey Mulligan in the lead role.Â
8. Synchronic (2021) - This is a very different movie, with a very unique premise. I really don’t know how to properly describe this movie but I loved it, and it’s a must see. Take a chance and just watch it. It is an absolute experience worth having.
9. Blackbird (2020) - Pretty relatable movie for a lot of families dealing with love/loss/anger/happiness etc. it’s not the best movie in the world, but it will tug at the emotions and heart strings pretty well.
10. The Marksman (2021) - If you’ve seen one Liam Neeson movie, you have pretty much seen them all. I love them all. Simple action film, where Liam plays the same character we’ve seen a lot of the time. If you love his movies give it a watch.
More reviews to catch up on. Doing super quick reviews.
1. A California Christmas (2020) - Super predictable, cute Christmas movie.
2. Happiest Season (2020) - Love the cast, especially Kristen Stewart. Storyline was decent, though I was pretty disappointed how Abby was treated. She deserved way better.
3. The Witches (2020) - I love Anne Hathaway but this is straight trash. Hated everything about it.
4. The Craft Legacy (2020) - I expected to hate it, and I was right. There is nothing good about this movie. Damn my curiosity. Just watch the original and save yourself the misery.
5. Josie (2018) - Pretty weird film, but I enjoyed it enough to watch it at least once. Nothing to lose your mind over if you haven’t seen it before.
6. Ava (2020) - Jessica Chastain is an absolute gift, and Ava is worth watching to appreciate her performance. Decent movie if you enjoy the genre.
7. The Old Guard (2020) - I enjoyed the film, but it honestly wasn’t as good as everyone made it out to be. I’m very interested if they do make a sequel otherwise it leaves way too many open ended questions that will remain frustrating if its just the one movie.
8. Dreamland (2019) - I LOVE the cast, I especially watched it for Travis Fimmel but holy hell this movie was boring af.
9. Words on Bathroom Walls (2020) - Absolutely brilliant film. Beautiful storytelling and wonderful performances. Recommend checking this one out.
10. Soul (2020) - Not even remotely surprised this is nominated for an Oscar. Beautiful film and animation. Wonderful idea behind the story. Check it out.
More quick reviews of the following movies; Cadaver, House of the Witch, Endings Beginnings, His House, The Empty Man, I Still See You, Freaky, City of Lies, Fatman, and Rams.
1. Cadaver (2020) - Horrible, horrible, horrible movie. So beyond boring and just stupid. Don’t watch it.
2. House of the Witch (2017) - See above ^^^ Super bad films.
3. Endings, Beginnings (2019) - I love the cast, but the movie itself was just a complete mess. The storyline, while realistic was quite frustrating at times. I wanted to like it but it’s immensely forgettable and the cast have definitely done better movies since.
4. His House (2020) - The trailer for this movie was super amazing and I was so excited to watch it, but the movie itself was ridiculously stupid. It’s only 90 minutes but felt way longer. Definitely regret watching it.
5. The Empty Man (2020) - Such a very weird and confusing film. It was interesting, but it just felt like there was 3 different movies that were all just mashed together. Horror fans might want to check it out, but not worth going out of your way for it.
6. I Still See You (2018) - Really interesting concept. I super enjoyed watching the movie, though I do wish they delved more into the why of it, though it’s based on a book, so maybe they have just copied the book in being vague. I’m really not sure. I did enjoy the movie overall though.
7. Freaky (2020) - Super brilliant movie!!! One of my absolute favourites from last year. If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it! Great gory horror action movie, with a lot of comedy and great performances.
8. City of Lies (2018) - ONLY released in 2020. Was a fantastic movie. The performance by Johnny Depp is easily the standout. While the film isn’t able to give a concrete super answer, it’s still great to watch.Â
9. Fatman (2020) - I was super excited for this film but I was expecting it to kind of be bad. I loved everything about it! Was a great movie with a brilliant balance of action and comedy.I laughed way more than I expected - Walton Goggins is just amazing.
10. Rams (2020) - Nice Australian film with a brilliant cast and performances. Was really funny with the sheep that were able to be saved. If you haven’t seen this film, especially if you live in Australia I so really recommend this one.Â
I got lazy again... sorry guys so there is gonna be spam posts of quick reviews to catch us up for all the movies I’ve watched recently :) Some super new movies, and some just popular/classics I finally got around to checking out.
1. Riding In Cars With Boys (2001); Stars Drew Barrymore as a mother at the age of 15 in 1965 - brilliant performances, and a nice story. Realistic emotion. Really enjoyed it.
2. Operation Christmas Drop (2020); One of the million Netflix movies to come out last year. Honestly if you enjoy 1 of them, you’ll probably enjoy most of them. This one stars Kat Graham so if you like her from TVD most fans are worth checking this out.
3. Christmas Made to Order (2018); Super cute and predictable rom/com movie set around Christmas time. I mainly watched it because it has Alexa PenaVega in it and I adored her from Spy Kids.
4. Christmas With A Prince (2018); Cute and predictable. If you like one Christmas movie, you’ll love them all hahaha
5. Hometown Holiday (2018); Cute, but super super forgettable. I watched a lot of Christmas movies in 2020 and this one was the worst one, but by no means horrible. Just forgettable.
6. The Princess Switch: Switched Again (2020); If you loved the first one, it’s worth watching the sequel, but this definitely isn’t as good as the first one. All favourite characters return, but adding another character by Vanessa Hudgens who was super over-the-top was a tiny bit pointless.
7. Holidate (2020); Of course based on the trailer alone it’s predictable, but this was really cute and I loved it. Emma and Luke have wonderful chemistry and I could easily rewatch this multiple times without getting sick of it.
8. Little Italy (2018); I was in a Emma Roberts mood, and this movie was such a gorgeous and adorable hidden gem I never knew existed. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend checking it out. It’s a super cute story, it’s funny, and the chemistry between Emma and Hayden was wonderful. Loved seeing Hayden Christensen on the screen!
9. Midnight at the Magnolia (2020); I didn’t realise how many corny romantic movies I watched lately until now... cute. Very predictable. Also quite forgettable.
10. Heathers (1989); Finally got around to watching this movie! I can completely understand why so many people love this movie and why it has such a massive following. It’s hilarious, and I never realised how much I quoted it without realising where the line came from. Super enjoyed it. If you have been umming about watching this, I really thought I was going to hate it and I ended up loving it. Give it a try!
Reviews included in the post; The Invisible Man, Colour out of Space, Spenser Confidential, The Hunt, Braham The Boy 2, The Dead Don’t Die, Bloodshot, Cargo, Oculus, Lavender, Fractured, Every Time I Die, Twin Murders The Silence of the White City, Extinction, and Meet Joe Black.
The Invisible Man: Fantastic and suspenseful movie. Decent storyline, great acting. Glad I got to see this one in cinemas before they shut down.
Colour Out of Space: Weird, but also very terrifying in parts which I was not expecting.
Spenser Confidential: Pretty basic action movie, pretty funny. Nothing really wrong with it.
The Hunt: The first 3 minutes was good, then the rest turned to complete garbage. Hated it.
Braham The Boy 2: I loved The Boy, the sequel is nothing like it, and definitely ruined the first film. Give this one a miss.
The Dead Don’t Die: Essentially a super long SNL skit that wasn’t funny, and didn’t want to end.
Bloodshot: Pretty decent action movie. Vin was good, but played the same role as he does in XXX and F&F franchise... nothing super unique.
Cargo: Zombie/pandemic movie, set in the Australian outback. Pretty emotional story, basic and enjoyable.
Oculus: Great horror movie, suspenseful. Great performances.
Lavender: Very well told storytelling. Great performances, can be triggering - while the end was suspected, it didn’t make it easier to accept.
Fractured: This movie was a trip. Was intense, Sam Worthington was amazing - that ending though. DAMN.
Every Time I Die: Straight up garbage. Concept sounded interesting, but they completely shit the bed with this one.
Twin Murders: The Silence of the White City: Interesting trailer. The movie itself was not interesting in the slightest. Really disappointing.
Extinction: The first hour of the movie was pretty boring, I enjoyed the last 30 minutes but by that point I no longer cared about the outcome.
Meet Joe Black: For a 3 hour movie, it really doesn’t feel that long at all. I absolutely loved the story and how charming Joe was. Brad Pitt was fantastic.
15 Quick reviews of movies I’ve watched on Netflix recently!!
Lost Girls: Fantastic Movie. Great casting/acting. Very similar to Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri if you enjoyed that movie it’s worth checking out.
The Platform: Bit of a strange movie, but it was really interesting and I really enjoyed it. I did watch the English dub, not sure if there is any dialogue difference.
Horse Girl: This movie seemed to be enjoyed by a lot of people, but I definitely wasn’t one of them. Didn’t like this one at all.
Cam: Pretty interesting film. Not the best, but definitely not the worst I’ve watched lately.
Equals: Decent film. Reminds me a lot of The Giver, feels very worm bodies/Romeo and Juliet towards the end. Performance by Kristen and Nicholas were good/chemistry believable.Â
Trust_: Brilliant film. Acting was fantastic, but it was such a heart breaking movie. I definitely would never be able to watch this again. Very triggering film so be warned if you plan on watching it.
The Amityville Horror: Awakening: Very different, pretty creepy but not overly the best movie. Worth checking for Horror fans.
13 Cameras: Decent movie. Creepy.Â
14 Cameras: Not as good as the first one, but not horrible either.
Down A Dark Hall: Good idea, horrible delivery. Boring movie.
Polaroid: Good idea, decent delivery. Creepy. Similar to Final Destination/Countdown.
Deadcon: Horrible movie. Nothing redeeming about it.
The Stepfather: Great movie, enjoyable. Decent acting (except AHcangofuckherself)
Before I Go To Sleep: Amazing thriller, fantastic performance by Nicole Kidman. Highly recommend.
The Package: HILARIOUS. I laughed so hard watching this film. It’s so stupid, but definitely worth checking out for comedy fans.Â
Very quick reviews for 15 movies released this year!!!
The Gentlemen: I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MOVIE! The storyline is fantastic, and the cast was brilliantly chosen. Highly recommend!
1917: Fantastic war movie. Very intense. Great acting, definitely deserved all the awards it won.
Bombshell: Great movie. Well done presenting the storyline. Cast was fantastic.
Little Women: Boring movie. I hated it, while I love the cast they chose. I found them really boring in this.Â
Bad Boys For Life: Super fun action movie. I really loved it. Great action sequences and performances. If you love the other two, you’ll love it.
Richard Jewell: Great movie. Lead actor was amazing. Intense story.
Birds of Prey: Margot Robbie is amazing as Harley Quinn. The movie is super bright and colourful, but the storyline is ‘meh’. Ewan McGregor was fantastic.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood: Decent storyline. Tom Hanks was great.
Underwater: Movie was basically Alien but underwater instead of in space. Nothing amazing, pretty forgettable.
I Lost My Body: Sweet, animated film. Nice twist story. Was disappointed this didn’t win best animated film at the Oscars.
Timmy Failure Mistakes were Made: Weirdly enjoyable. Decent family movie, good for all ages.
To All The Boys 2: Fantastic. If you loved the first one, you’ll love this one too.
Sonic The Hedgehog: I wasn’t expecting much from this, but I really loved it. Was super well done. Had a really decent storyline and was also hilarious.
Dolittle: I love Robert Downey Jr, and the actors they chose for all the voices. But the movie itself was very bland and boring. The voice acting was a letdown. Overall didn’t like the film at all.
Playing With Fire: Stupidly hilarious. I loved it, and John Cena did a great job balancing serious and comedy. Great family movie.
This year has been pretty baffling with everything that has been going on. I am extremely behind with movie reviews.
First in Australia - we were on FIRE, bushfires everywhere.
Then we had flash flooding, and hail, storms.
Bushfires and flooding at the same time.
And now we have the Coronavirus. Australia didn’t initially take it very seriously.. but now we have issued a lockdown of cinemas, clubs, pubs, restaurants etc.
SO now while in social distancing I am have been watching a lot of movies on Netflix and catching up on movies that I might have missed.
And now catching up on writing the reviews.Â
What has been your favourite movie of 2020 so far?
Based on the trailer I was expecting to dislike this - it didn’t look overly funny and the jokes looked a bit forced, luckily this is not the case at all when I got to see the movie. The returning actors/actresses are fantastic once again. Jack Black is still the stand out to me, surprisingly Dwayne Johnson kinda takes the background for this film (though I’m sure he still got paid the most). Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan was amazing once again of course.
We get to see more of the characters before they are put into the game, and get introduced to the new characters.
Within the game the story has definitely changed this time around, and it’s still exciting and very hilarious. Like I said before, based on the trailer the jokes look forced but in the actual movie it came across as natural and the actors just simply taking the piss out of each other.
The action sequences were great, the story and twists of the story was great. The slight changes with the character information was easily one of the best parts too. If you loved Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle you will love this one as well. Go check it out!
