I know Edward has this rep of wanting to spoil Bella with flashy expensive gifts, and the blame is obviously on smeyer and her wanting to fulfill some fantasy by giving Bella a rich boyfriend who wants to constantly spend money on her, but like… I’m gonna need a little more respect to be put on Mr. Edward Anthony Masen Cullen Swan’s name because his birthday gift to Bella in New Moon? Beautiful.  Him making a CD of his original music compositions, with the 1st track being the lullaby he made for and about Bella? Bella being rendered speechless when she heard her lullaby playing and tears being brought to her eyes because that was the best gift he could’ve given her? Her telling him that he couldn’t have given her anything she would’ve loved more? Thoughtful. Heart-warming. Priceless.

It’s one of my favorite underrated moments in New Moon before everything goes to shit and I’m mad irritated that they didn’t include it in the movie.

And this is just recently. They literally always showed up at peaceful events Black people organized and met them with violence. The major difference was that in 2020, everybody who was never there before began to see it on their internet while they were stuck in the house.

So, they took the previous notion of "we weren't there, so we don't know what really happened" and copped out with the idea that violence doesn't help others stop being violent towards you...

TF. If they're being violent, they deserve violent reactions and any other reaction is simply only going to last until they react even more violently. So fuck it, we rage.

Reasons I have seen webcomic authors publicly cite for cancelling their comic mid-storyline:

Too busy  

Lost interest  

Increasing age gap between characters and author made it difficult to relate  

Did the math and figured out that completing the planned arc with their current update schedule would take 150 years  

Ostensible author actually a fictional persona that’s now being retired, and they didn’t want the comic linked to their real identity  

Realised that the way they’d written the central relationship wasn’t emotionally genuine (note: this was a hobbit porn comic)  

The comic’s readership contained too many lesbians  

Converted to a religion that regards all representational art as a form of idolatry  

Broke up with the person the protagonist was based on  

Outed as not actually Japanese  

Imprisoned for manslaughter
