Dangerous Weather (storms, extreme heat, etc.)

Finding a random convenient cave to take shelter in

It’s cold and they have to huddle together for warmth

Surprise dangerous creatures on the supposedly uninhabited planet

They have to get the comm system working!

Arguments breaking out in moments of high tension

Tending to injuries without proper medical equipment

i love when a character has something terrible happen to them and as a result they see themself as, essentially if not literally, a ghost. and so that means they only can (and have to) do what ghosts do, ie get revenge and then cease to exist. easy as that. but then halfway through this ghost vengeance they realize hey actually i might still be a human person. with human needs. that’s incredibly inconvenient, considering how much i’ve invested in this whole ghost thing

listen. i love that chakotay and tuvok are first and second in the hottest voyager man poll. it’s what they deserve. but that just makes it all the more astounding that tuvok/chakotay isn’t a million times more popular. like why are only three people talking about them they have some of thee most compelling enemies to lovers potential of all time. chakotay trusted tuvok and tuvok betrayed him then they had to put all that aside to work together to survive!! they’re both deeply emotionally entangled with the same person!! like!! that shit is crazy!!
