The majority of the Earth’s rodents: How do you survive environments with practically zero oxygen, feel no pain, and live for decades when none of the rest of us can???

Literally them !! They can manage ages without oxygen (18 mins I believe) in a zero oxygen environment, because they adapted to live in tunnel systems underground that have lower levels of oxygen - they can also survive in high levels of co2.

The feeling no pain thing I believe is something they evolved due to various reasons, including being able to ignore bug bites to explore and get food, and resist pain due to them being quite aggressive towards each other at times ( though this is only the females). There’s other reasons too but still.

And the living for decades!! This is due to the way that cells divide to my understanding, and is also why they are so resistant to cancer. As animals age their cells decay and replicate and such (I’m not a biologist there’s probably more scientific words for this) and this typically causes mutations in their cells causing decay (aging) and leads to cancer in some cases. However naked mole rats have much better control of senescence in their cells.

And naked mole rats Sure are bald. (Technically they have little whiskers all over their bodies but that doesn’t really count)
